I wish more infotainment centers were like the Maxima where everything is integrated and has buttons/knobs and a touchscreen. Too many cars are using the floating tablet and it looks cheap
I have a 2018 SR midnight edition in this same color. I love this car. Comfortable,fast and believe it or not,not bad on gas,approx 24 around town. My only complaint is with the SR model,the suspension is tight and you will feel every bump but damn does it Handle amazingly. The Bose system kick ass and sounds great. The CVT trans is a lot more responsive than in my 2012 Maxima an is really not that bad. All in all I am happy with this car and haven’t experienced any issues but then I have just 2300 miles on it. If you buy one I’m sure you will be happy with your decision.
I have the Black Maxima Platinum Reserve trim. Love it! I have just over 1000 miles so far so good. Went with a 35% tint all the way around and I just ordered the chrome rocker panels. That’s basically all I’m going to do to it. I hope you enjoy your car the color is beautiful!
Congrats man, it's a really good looking MAX there. Can you tell me what's the name of the color? And my concern was CVT transmission. I own a 09' Altima, i can't describe how much i hate the transmission and the sound it makes. But nevertheless this Maxima is on my radar to upgrade from my Altima.
A nice looking car, enjoy your vids always good insight into design elements. Nissan always seems to go the extra mile with their Maxima model. I like the custom look on the seats, the high tech dash and features, the trunk hinges slip into the trunk trim another upscale touch though I can see some cost cutting on the trunk trim not being carpeted but a good place to cut corners. I am pretty sure they use a higher quality transmission on their Maxima as well. Nissan Sentra and Rogues are known to have the worst/least reliable CVT's in the industry.
Love my maxima too...I have an 2017 SL. Drives great and I love the growl it’s sounds good. But I definitely noticed it didn’t drive as smooth as the Camry that I had...

PLEASE put a regular 8 speed auto in the Maxima. As far as I'm concerned a Toyota Camry V6 is far better since it has an 8 speed auto. I understand the CVT for the basic models (Kicks, Versa, Sentra and Rogue) but for "performance" oriented vehicles that CVT needs to go.

Toyota and many other mainstream mom and pop cars, plus more and more performance cars, have steadily increased the number of gears (from 3 to 8, as of this writing) in order to improve fuel efficiency at the cost of less reliable operation, and dang, that is way too many upshifts and downshifts (hunting, as it were)!! The CVT accomplishes efficiency and "right now" response with only two pulleys. Hook those up to 300 HP and enjoy the effortless acceleration at any speed, coupled with regular grade fuel, achieving, in my case a best of 36.5 mpg round-trip between Ohio and Florida. Oh, and did I mention my '17 Max SL can smoke those tires with ease. Of course at 72 yrs. old my boy-racer days are way behind me... but once in awhile I have to listen to my wife complain, "Now why did you do that? Are you trying to show off?!" :-)
At 5:07, its not the headlight that turn off when you turn on the turn signal. Its the daytime running light (which doesn't give you any forward illumination). So there is no hazard there imo. And at night when the real headlights are on and you use the turn signal, the headlight remains illuminated.
I just purchased a "sports sedan" and the Nissan Maxima was on my list. I looked at some NEW leftover 18's SL's in the low $30's as well as some Pre owned low mileage 17's in the mid 17s. Not much difference between the model years. My overall impression was very positive. As a "regular" car driver who likes to go from point A to point B and doing so in a very spirited way, I found the car to be very comfortable, high in tech, and fast enough to for everyday driving. Having said that, I did find the CVT transmission to be annoying as it keeps revving up as you continue to push the car. It just didn't want to let go into lower gear, which I guess is what makes the CVT what it is. By the end of the day, the car offers everything anyone would want from a Sedan, but it is not quite fulfilling. I ended up buying a CPO preowned 2015 Lexus GS350 with 26K miles in the high $20's which is NOT perfect, but it offers a much more rewarding overall driving experience as well as the better long term reliability. The higher Maxima Trims play in luxury car territory and even though, many of these sedans can be had with large discounts, it is really hard to make a case for the Maxima when similar FWD cars such as the TLX, the Lexus ES350, and even their sister product Infiniti Q50 can be had for close to similar money. IN my case, I am not trying to compare the merits of a 2 to 3-year-old CPO but in this case as well as many cases, it should be a consideration. The same way a 2-year-old Maxima might be the better play here due to the incredible depreciation all these cars suffer from.
i agree with you but not completely, as you said this cars can be purchased for a lot cheaper than the manufacturer asking price because they are not completely luxury cars but they fall in the sport category(although they have many luxury features), with that being said a 2015 fully loaded Maxima if found with similar mileage as the Lexus you got it would have been a much better deal but of course Lexus is the better car not question about it, anyways enjoy your purchase and you'll have a beautiful premium car for many years to come.
@@yordan826 Yes, a 2015 is probably $10K cheaper than a similar Lexus. Keep in mind that I bought a GS350 which in a different league and I am not saying that to minimize the Maxima in any way. Just two wonderful cars but in different categories. But to my point, you ended up buying a pre-owned Maxima for probably half of what a new one cost which is awesome. Hopefully, you got yourself a nice warranty to go with it in order to prevent it from long term out of pocket issues. Lots of people will never consider buying pre-owned, but 2 to 3 year olds can be a bargain.
Actually I don't own a Maxima I owned an Altima which I got pre-owned with 3k only, it was rented a few times but still almost brand new back in 2012, now I sold it a couple years ago because my military service brought me overseas to Japan, but I'm going back to the States and I find myself looking to get another car and Nissan has always been my favorites, and yes I know the GS350 is in another league as I said is a better car than the Maxima, no doubts you did a great purchase!!!!!.

Over and over I keep seeing horrific stories about the CVT transmissions that I'm serious scared to purchase one of these. I had an 07 Altima that had it and it was perfect but since then It's really been an issue with Nissan. I'm also seeing many reports of customer service and overall Nissan Company issues since they were bought out.
As i mentioned earlier, this car needs the GTR's 6 speed gearbox and be available in Europe. Not that shitty Renault Talisman. I'm wondering this car is made for the US and has orange turn signals. They are supposed to be red, right?
Yea that’s a very good question...I had to make that decision when I got my 2017 Maxima SL. I was looking at a 2018 Camry Xse. My prior car was a 2014 Camry SE. I test drove the 2018 xse it was nice. It was a tough decision...However, I went with the Maxima because of the premium feel I got when sitting in it...it’s definitely more technical looking inside the Maxima. I will say that the Camry is slightly smoother compared to the Maxima that’s my only gripe. Other than that I Iove the growl that comes from the Maxima, it sounds like the muffler is enhanced especially in the sport mode. Test drive both...I don’t think you can go wrong with either choice
Nissans are rust buckets. Owned a 2013 Altima SL. The graphics on the navigation is terrible. Worst investment ever. Got from under it because of a miracle

Just got the SR in this same color and love it. Previously had two G couples and two Z’s and this car is the perfect middle ground of everything.
