    I have one that I bought when the units were new, but for whatever reason the learning curve on it was a little too steep for me. If I have to tweak too much I don't get much playing done. Still looking forward to playing around with it more when I have some time. Nice demo!

    Yes. I have one. I bought it 13 years ago and I still using it. it's wonderful. A few years later, I had been researching on the GT-100; I learned that this generation are NOT any better than my GT-10. lol. In the last 2 to 4 years (2017- 2021), I started thinking able getting Helix or GT-1000, or Headrush (like everyone else). Then...I realized, my GT-10 is good enough what I need. so.... this is why I have not changed any pedals. Peace!

      Heu T. Do you know how to fix the knobs not working properly on my GT10. ? I bought it in a good price but the owner didnt tell me the issue. Im new in electric guitar and i didnt realize the GT-10 is overwhelming for a beginner like me. Reading your comments makes me think to keep it but would like to know more about this beast. Great playing and killer tones with your GT10! I have had GT3 (sold), GT6/8/100. I never got a GT10, but I did use it often when I worked in a music store years ago. My favorite is actually the GT8 because I love all the knobs and buttons which make it easier (for me atleast) to get to things quickly. I find that the old COSM based units sound pretty similar - its the same technology. It's just a matter of learning how to dial in the tone on each unit, and ofcourse how you actually play to begin with.

    • @wagnernoise
      @wagnernoise  Рік тому +1

      Thanks dude! Yeah, the knobs (or lack of them) in the GT8 was one of the biggest complains. I didn’t have the GT8 but one friend of mine had it and I agree with you, it was somewhat easier to fine tuning the tones. Have a great week ahead! Cheers

      @@wagnernoise thanks. It's interesting because people complained about the lack of knobs on the GT5/3. Boss responded with the GT6/8 - then people complained that there were too MANY knobs - lol! Actually, the ME 50/70/80 have even more knobs - they are just laid out in a more intuitive pedal-like way. The old (and often forgotten) Boss ME33 was their first multieffect/preamp unit to use knobs and have a large (for the time) screen. Have a good one.

    Sounds good, nice patches. I had a GT-10 and GT-100 and now the GT-1000. They all sound good, but each a little different. I play direct most often, and honestly if Boss had put XLR connections on the GT-10, I'd probably still have it.

  • @Albee213
    @Albee213 6 років тому +2

    As an effects unit the GT10 still holds up with the latest units. If you use it in the 4 cable method with a tube amp you have a fully gig ready rig. If you plan on using the amp models that's where this unit has its weaknesses. I have had mine for a long time but always had trouble getting amp models to sound good. Good: Most of the effects are top notch. The Bad: Amp modeling isnt that good. The Wah pedal is ok at best and the Flanger and many pedals have more options or less options than the actual pedal do making it harder to use. Example, the Metal Zone MT-2 pedal has Level, Bass, Mid, Freq, Treb and Gain. The MT-2 in the GT10 has Level and Gain for the most part and many other pedals just have more options.

    • @wagnernoise
      @wagnernoise  6 років тому +3

      Yeah, I agree with you. I said that to one person who asked me if he should buy it today. As effects unit it's nice, however the modelling amps aren't good enough for today's standard. Thanks for your comment buddy! Cheers!

      I got my gt 10 and I can say that it is cool, there is a lot of fun in it, a lot of time experimenting and learning, and you can get particular great sounds, I was just messing around with a preset Phased crunch I think it was (bank 10 or 11). It is so cool, and I feel so glad to discover things by experimenting. but some sounds are very bad, for example, pitch shifter sounds like crap with most of the presets, and most factory presets suck!!!!.
      Anyway, the point is that I was just told that GT 100 is a far better product than gt 10, it is easier to programme and sounds more organic and real. Thanks Wagner - good points, was thinking of GT-100, GT-10 and of course, considering likes of Helix etc! Mooer GE200 seem to be trying to ship enough units, Thomann none until late November 2017, etc. Less than 300 bucks. Have you moved on yet? Nothing beats the GT-10 significantly now? Or is there some non-sound reason eg the interface (block diagrams, even touchscreen on the Headrush it seems), or MIDI i/o that might have made you move on? EDIT - also, it's a battle of the IR (Impulse profiles) and software downloads now it seems. Thanks anyway, melodic and skilful playing.

      +sleekitwan thanks for your comment buddy, I really appreciate it :) The new multieffect units are awesome (Helix, Fractal, Kemper) but I'm going back to analog effects... Hehehe! I saw an Ola Englund's video featuring a MOOER multieffects and it sounded really good. I just don't know if it's this same model. Right now, for recording, I'm using Valve amps and free software amp sims with good IR (Ownhammer). So, you can do a lot with free stuff the days :) Thanks again! Cheers!

      Thanks mate! I have to share these sounds, I'll hook up my GT10 to the PC and save these patches. However, I can tell you that the rhythm guitars are quad tracked (4 layers of guitars) with Rectifier, Marshall High gain, T-Amp and a Custom Amp that I built myself in the GT10. I'll make these presets available very soon.

To import these sound into your GT-10 just follow this guide glenndelaune.blogspot.com/2009/06/loading-my-gt-10-tones-into-your-own-gt.html Cheers!

    For effects and amp control, I wonder how the GT-10 compares to the Line 6 HX Effects? Has anyone here played both and compared? Again, not interested in digital amp models, just the effects in my loop and the presets controlling the amp channel selection (Marshall DSL). Thanks for reading.

    • @wagnernoise
      @wagnernoise  5 років тому +1

      Hi Tim! Well, the Helix will be probably better since it's newer than the GT-10. However, as you told me you want to use only the FX of these units, maybe the GT-10 can do it for you. Glen Delaunne has a great video explaining all the 4CM and Amp switching using the GT-10. Cheers!

  • @tjborekvideo
    @tjborekvideo 5 років тому

    I'm thinking of buying one of these to replace individual stompboxes for its ability to change amp channels with patches using the Amp Control feature. I mainly want to use it in 4CM with my Marshall DSL for effects presets only (no modeling), but I'm also thinking of making a bank or two of presets WITH modeling enabled for running direct when stage volume needs to be kept low (small venues). Should I be confident in its tones for running direct to PA (I used in-ear monitors)?

    Hello there im a multi instrument player i play drums, bass, guitar, keyboards and Hammond Organist and a singer. Now in my guitar section of my rig i have the following currently now as we speak. 2023, Multieffcts pedals and i have quite a few including rack units with remotes from the 80s snd early 90s as well as late 90s til about 2014. I too own the Boss GT 10 now JUST BOUGHT IT AND LEARNING IT, I ALSO HAVE THE GT8,GT6,GT5 AND GT3 CURRENTLY USE THESE ALL REMEMBER THE ROLAND GP8 AND 16 I USE THOSE. FOR SOMEBODY THAT MADE A COMMENT ABOUT XLR INS AND OUTPUTS I HAVE THE DIGITECH GNX MODELS FOR THAT GNX1, 2,3, AND 4 AND GNX3000, DIGITECH GSP 21 PRO AND LEGEND WITH REMOTES,KORG PEDALS TOO THE AXG 1500 AND AXG3000 BY KORG TONE WORKS. I HAVE A DIGITECH RP1,12 AND 20VALVE I STILL USE TOO AS WELL AS MY DIGITECH IPB-10 WITH IPAD BUILT INTO THE UNIT. AND ALLONG WITH MY PEAVY RENOUN 400 1983 MODEL D.I BOX INTO MY BOARD NO HISS ONLY THE GT10 DOES IT AND I AND CURRENTLY DIVING INTO THE MENU TO GET THIS HISSING PROBLEM SOLVED FOR US BOTH I LOVE THIS UNIT HONEY BUT THE HISSING GOSTA GO.. ALL THE OTHER PEDALS NO HISSING BUT THIS GT10 IS WORST AND THE DISTORTION SUCKS I USE IT FOR SOME OF THE AMP MODS AND SOME WITH OUT THE SYNTHESIZER KICKS TOTAL ASS ON HERE. I LOVE ALL MY GEAR AND WONT EVER PART WITH THEM AS I USE THE STAND ALONE MULTI TRACK 32 OF THEM A KORG D 3200 AND I DONT USE DAW IT SUCKS. IM OLD SCHOOL ANALOG SOUND DIGITAL WITH ANALOG INPUTS AND FILTERS OUT ANY DIGITAL SOURCE.

      @danaowens30 Рік тому

      Also last but not least on every effects patch both user and stock i turned off all amp models as im using a Peavy renoun and use only the overdrive and distortion on set on users patches. Every single amp Cab is off as i use an amp live already going to a D.I box which filters out Amp hiss in the first place. I figure out the problem to the hissing problem just turn off all amp modelers and use a live amp with a Di box into a DAW with a midi interface or a Focusrite Scarlet 101. If your going D.A.W.. problem solved your welcome

    • @wagnernoise

      Hi buddy, in theory the simulations should be very close (identical) between the ME-25 and GT-10, but the difference is the EQ section. On GT-10 the EQ is very powerful, on the ME-25 you're very limited. However, I think you can create some really good sounds with it. Cheers!

    I think the quality far surpasses a stupid line 6 or a digitech pedal any day, sure, the newer models are new, big deal, its all about the composition of the song and weather the tone is industry standard or practice standard, nothing more nothing less: a polished shit song, is still a shit song. I just bought this peddle and I cant wait to record with it when it arrives in the mail.

      Davidson GS Tudo depende de qual é a função que mais você vai necessitar. Por exemplo, se for usar qualquer uma dessas pedaleiras com um ampli você automaticamente não irá precisar da simulação de preamp (nem de cab), pois do contrário vai soar bem ruim. Então o fato da GT1 ser mais limitada neste quesito não importará. Agora, se é para tocar em casa (com fone) e fazer uma gravação sim vai importar. Mesmo assim, os sons da GT1 são bem mais polidos que os da GT10. Abraço!

    • @nefher312

      Entao vou te dar uma ideia: pega a GT1 (mais barata) e na hora de gravar, em vez de usar o simulador de caixa dela, usa uma IR (impulse response). O resultado vai ser bem superior e tem várias IR's grátis e de boa qualidade por aí. Abraço!

    What happens is that some of my GT-10 buttons doesn't work anymore that is OUTPUT, SYSTEM and COMP.
    I have take care of it very well and it has not even been in gigs or anything like that.
    I saw in several forums that it is a common problem as well as the failure of potentiometers but they could not explain if there is a viable arrangement and I am very disappointed with the quality of Roland because that has not happened to me with other new equipment that I have looked after very well since the beginning.
    I already tried the FACTORY RESET and it's still the same, which I think is a hardware problem.
