Satoshi, those umeboshi from Yamagata look beautiful. I will make sure I pick them up.
Umeboshi is my favorite! I eat them every day. I’ll have to try some of your recipes.
Umeboshi is my favorite condiment. I can eat ume just by itself. I love the wine or the juice too. It is so nice having some recipes that I can put my favorite flavor into. Thank you so much for these recipes!
I had a boneless pork chop and used his sauce for pork on it. Very tasty!!!!
I knew I should have bought that jar of umeboshi the other day!! I thought I would never be able to use the whole jar. Now I know different!
This is very helpful!! Thank you!!
wow what a great video made me so hungry lol
Yeah a new recipe!!! Woot woot Hip hip hurrah!!!
At first sight i thought its a caramel candy! So beautiful
Very nice indeed, it's not something commonly known in the west here, but I picked up some pickled plums to some of these out!
Thanks so much for this! I bought some umeboshe at my local Japanese market. I'm just one person, so even the smallest container is a lot of pickled plums. I'm so grateful to have these suggestions for using the umeboshe. All the recipes look delicious!
Love Umeboshi!! Arigato Satoshi!
I'm Korean and I just moved to Yokosuka, not knowing much about Japanese cuisine. I was so confused the first time I tasted Umeboshi! In Korea we pickle/ferment them too, but in a very very sweet way. So the Japanese salty Ume was a cultural shock! This video is so educational and inspiring, I can't wait to experience with Umeboshi now!
I love this video! I always want to try umeboshi and now I have so many ideas for how to use it. I enjoy all of the "how to use this ingredient" videos!
My mind has been blown away after watching this. Excellent!
These are wonderful ideas! I especially like the hiyayakko and somen dishes. Ume +shiso+pork =
umaimono.
Ahhh I love UMEBOSHI !!!!!
I only eat it the first way and in musubi.
Thanks so much for all the fresh new ideas.
I MUST try it.
Umeboshi and cucumber are Best Friends! Love it!
I LOVE umeboshi! ^.^
Umeboshi onigiri is my absolute favourite. ^_^
i bought umeboshi as a filling for onigiri, but I had so many left over and had no idea what to do with them! i can't wait to try these
Thank you Satoshi! I will prepare all of these dishes.
Thank you for all your recipes.
I had a Japanese girlfriend who ate them every day. I loved them on rice! Is genmaicha the the tea with little flowers in it? Fantastic! Oishii desu ne!
Great ideas Satoshi! 👍😎😋
I LOVE HIS REACTIONS AFTER TAKING A BITE OMG
Thanks for your easy and healthy ideas, perfect foe busy working people
I LOVE YOUR ENTHUSIASM! I wish I were with you enjoying the lovely umeboshi plum! This is the kind of food I love ...and it's the kind of food that loves ME! Such food is great for the digestion and for keeping slim. Thank you!
This video is so valuable! I wouldn't have thought about all those things to do with pickled plum. I would love to try the pork recipe, the sauce looks so tasty over the meat! Yummy!!
Exactly what I was looking for! Thank you!
Thanks for the informative video Satoshi! My mouth was watering the whole time because I know how sour the pickled plum is lol
Everything looks oishi! So many ideas for one simple food item. You are so right Satoshi - I only ever had umeboshi by itself (soooooo sour!) and in an onigiri!
I can't get umeboshi here in Israel but on my next visit to Japan I know what I will be making.👍🏽 どうもありがとうございました

Thanks Satoshi for the informative way to use the japanese plum. I have never tried it because, I did not know how to use it in rice or in any other way . Now I know and, I will try it. Thank you and happy new year!
I like umeboshi 'lite' ... the kind with honey so not as crazy salty/sour.
Wow, I want to try the thinly sliced pork dish...looks great!👍
Love these recipes ♥️ perfect timing too, I have a whole jar of umiboshi I could not figure out what to do with it. Thank you for all these great ideas!
I love this guy! He's so passionate about what he does, yet at the same time, very humble.
I love each and every one of your recipes, brother! Umeboshi is comforting for me, as when I was growing up, and not feeling well, my okasama would make me okayu with umeboshi. ☺️ I cannot wait to try your tsukemono recipe, because for once-I have all of the ingredients. The garlic plum sauce for the pork, oh myyyyy! Thank you for sharing!! ❤️❤️❤️
I was looking for a video about umeboshi and stumbled across this one.
Great job👍
Many thanks to you!
You explain everything so well. Thank you very much for your excellent style.
I am an Umeboshi addict. I love it with Ochazuke and with just steamed rice. Thank you so much for the other recipes. I cannot wait to try them!
Thank you, Satoshi, for these wonderful recipes! I love umeboshi and mom used to make umeboshi at home - we always have enjoyed umeboshi with shiso and katsuobushi but you have included many ideas here that we’ve never seen before and they sound so oishii!! 😍 Looking forward to trying these out!
Thanks for all these good ideas. I've just been eating it plain on rice for years ha.
I've been interested in trying umeboshi but didn't know how to use it exactly so this video was a great help 😄 also learned other things I didn't expect to learn
My favorite condiment ever!! I have to get family members send it to me from other countries as its almost impossible to find where i live. I just found another way to eat it and its delicious!: fry an egg and leave the center runny. I spread the umeboshi on whole wheat toasted bread, add the egg on top with some spring onion and a drizzling of sesame oil. Absolutely delicious! Or just eat them like a snack or with some rice and Katsuoboshi😊 i wish i could get it more often, such a treat
It all looks so delicious cant wait to try
Yum! All I need is to find fresh enough tofu to eat raw where I live in America and I'm set! I haven't seen or found any fresh enough tofu here...it always taste strange...
Make it yourself.
Then just steam the tofu along with the ingredients he used...should be just as tasty & will remove the raw tofu taste.
@@lilyrosesoul0077 I want to have raw tofu! They eat that during the summer to keep ya cool and refreshed!
Made the tuna salad and added Umeboshi and toasted sesame seeds as a center to my rice balls! Soo Good!!!!! Thank you Satoshi!
Hello, Satoshi! This lesson was really wonderful! I have had some foods with umeboshi, but I learned some great new ways to eat it. Everything looks delicious. You did such a great job on the video, Satoshi! I really want to try the hiyayakko tofu with umeboshi. It looks so good. Thank you, Satoshi!
I love this video! Satoshi is so cute when he explains the recipes and such easy to follow recipes! The ochazuke and pork ones are my favourite! Please do more of these series!!! :) Big love from Singapore!!! >
Great ideas to use umeboshi! We only used them in onigiri, but these are great ways to use it more often! Thanks for sharing :)
Just wondering, do you put them in onigiri with the seed still inside?
@@UltraViolet666 , I remove the seed so we don't bite into it.
Thank you Satoshi san for these delicious umeboshi recipe ideas. I just started following your channel...Love the way you present, very clear, well explained... and you spread such a kind positive vibe. Arigato gozaimasu!

This is great! Many ideas, and easy to follow instructions
Awesome, I already eat umeboshi with rice and a salad of cucumber with mayo, rice vinegar, and kosher salt combined every week. I'm excited for more uses for umeboshi.
These recipes looks all delicious, especially the pork one, and the salad dressing. I'll see if I can find umeboshi, next time I go at the Japan Centre here in London. I've really enjoyed your video Satoshi!
Arigatou gozaimasu 😀
My way of eating Umeboshi? Right out of the package, pure, I need sometimes the kick of that salty and sour fruit, sooo delicious🤤 But I looove al these recipe, some I know but some not, never thought about combine beaten cucumber and Umeboshi, I want it right now🤤 And how cuuute you describe them as friends😍 I love all the snacks and food I find to order with Umeboshi, but now I will look forward to make everything you showed. I'm using "complexe taste" now too to describe😁 Have a wonderful day, you and Shinichi oh and of course Justin😚
Me too, I love strong salty and sour taste 😝 but I also put it on plain rice for breakfast
Great suggestions for using Umeboshi! Thank you
Thanks so much Satoshi!!! These are pretty healthy and diet-friendly recipes. Will try them out
Everything in this video looks amazing!
The only way I used to eat the soft ume was with cucumber sushi when I was sick. Sort of like the Japanese version of chicken soup for colds. 😥
this sounds great!
all of these look amazing
Ultimate secret Art!
Eating a bunch of pickled plums!
Thanks for the recipes! Can't wait to try them out soon! :')

My favorite was the salad dressing.
And that garlic Umeboshi pork looks amazing.
Satoshi is such an angel! Every time I see anyone make miso soup it bums me out that I don't like it. 😕
This video is not only informative but also very entertaining to watch! I bought my first umeboshi last week and I ate it whole like a candy and it was very very salty and sour. I knew there’s a better way of eating it and this video has all the answers! I will be trying the cucumber and umeboshi for sure since it looks so fresh and savory 😋
I tried the pickled plum with daikon I loved it!
this makes me so happy :)
Fantastic ideas!
If anyone ever gets a chance to see the movie 'Megane' ('Glasses'), there are lots of fantastic food scenes in there, including some with umeboshi!
Now I know how to use the ume plum that's been sitting in my fridge for over a year 😂 Half way through the video I went to try the cucumber with ume plum and sesame oil and it was yummy
Omg I. Can’t wait to try ALL OF THese My mouth is watering
Ok, let’s see if I can do one of them ☺️☺️☺️
I bought a box of these at Whole Foods last weekend and ate one out of the box. I quickly assumed afterward they aren’t eaten that way. Looking forward to cooking with it.
i made "mexican" umeboshi, with a mexican type of plums hahaha and i use a little bit of hibiscus flower for the color :)
that instant dashi powder is very useful indeed. I use a small amount in my tamagoyaki.
Thanks for the video! I picked up a jar at the Asian supermarket the other day
