  • How to use a box blade? I use my Mahindra Max 26 xlt tractor and my Mahindra 5 ft box blade or box scraper. I use a bubble level to rough adjust and then place the blade on the ground for final adjustment. Grading dirt is just one of the many uses for this implement, I also use it on my gravel driveway and for snow removal.

    A word of caution when operating the box blade in reverse... your lift arm turnbuckles are designed for tension (going forward), not compression (going backwards). If you contact an immovable object, like a boulder or root, going in reverse, it is likely you will damage the turnbuckles. Ask me how I know....As simple an attachment as the box blade is, it does require some finesse and trial-and-error practice to get the most out of it.

    Is there any sway in the blade?

      I currently have mine tightened down in the middle. You can adjust the turn buckles and get the box blade to shift left or right

    If the tractor isn't level, why bother leveling the blade? Wouldn't you want the blade to be on the same plane as the tractor wheels?

    • @k6outdoors
      @k6outdoors  4 роки тому

      Yes you are correct you want the box level with the tractor, what i was referring to is if you are wanting to set a grade you can use it for reference. I also should have mentioned the part about being on flat ground as the tractor was in the situation. Thanks for watching.

    Is there a way to adjust width of 3 pt arms on mt compact tractor,,cant get box blade connected because one side the arm wont swing wide enough

    • @k6outdoors
      @k6outdoors  6 місяців тому +1

      It will depend on the tractor and what it has. You might need to adjust some turnbuckle or some have telescoping draft links. Also need to make sure you are using the correct category of attachements. If you tractor is a class 0 you won't have enough space to connect to a class 1. Thanks for stopping in!

      @@k6outdoors What is a class 0,,my tractor is a 2022 farmtrac 25 hp,its pretty big for a compact and the frame is heavy duty,,im assuming class 0 would be like the small massey fergusons with 18 hp

    Not trying to be a jerk here but using a level to adjust angle/levelness on the box blade is a moot attempt if your tractor isn't first parked on level ground. The tractor first must be determined to be parked level in order for any successful adjusting of the boxblade achieved as explained in this video. ua-cam.com/video/wYXcMN7tBjQ/v-deo.html

      Understood, I should have clarified that I use it for reference its nice for getting "close". That is why I make the final adjustments with it on the ground. Thanks for the feedback and appreciate the view.
