Another great video teaching me how to use my tractor. I grew up in Cleveland and now own 5 acres in Washington State. I come to you videos to help me use my tools better. Thank you so much for your videos. Peanut is a star!
When I purchased my tractor my box blade, bush hog, and large trailer came with it. Those items have proven to be very useful to me. I even learned something new on how to use the box blade. Thank you for your videos, and I have your web site saved since I need some farming implements for my tractor.
This is a very good instructional video. I now know there is a tool to get done what I want to do instead of doing it by hand, which was overwhelming me, or hiring big machinery. Thank you!
Impressive! I have a box blade and found it a frustrating thing to use to dress my driveway. Back-blading with the BB looks like a game-changer for me. Well done, and thank you for this excellent content!
Excellent video! I've owned a box blade for my little John Deere 2305 form years and didn't know all these tips. Now I'm ready to go out and play doing it right and easier! Thank you.
When I am ripping, I pit on the pins such that backing up the teeth with be pushed up. That setting won't go as deep, but I found it to be good to let the teeth pull themselves down going forward and to float over the ground backing up.
I'm planning on setting up a homestead, And I've watched a few for your videos. I must say they are very helpful in knowing what parts do what and therefore what attachments I might have a use for. thanks for the videos.
Five stars. I just picked up a lightly used 48" box scraper (after seeing this video last Wednesday) Thanks a lot for the great instructional vid! I never would have known how to angle it to cut a ditch. I have a Cub Cadet 5264D subcompact with a F. E. L. 60" M. M. D. And PTO spreader. When I'm ready, I'll be getting a 40" phoeinix tiller from you guys! (1 bottom plow too)
Nice video.. I'm self employed and use a Branson 3510 as my money maker. I love my implements. I welded on about 300 lbs of metal stock to my light duty Branson scraper box. Now it sits on the ground like it should.
I ran across your video by chance, which I'm glad I did. When I was 15 yrs old back in 1980 My parents had 10 acres in Minnesota. My dad bought a Ford 8N . unfortunately he didn't have a box blade for it. Had a bucket up front & a few drags & a small plow. It was a lot of fun. Just wanted to share that. Thank you for the video, it took me back about 40 years. 👍
on my box blade after I get the grade to how I want it I then take the top link and draw it in so the rear of the box is pointed downward more and the front of the box is more upward that way it will not dig into the ground anymore and you can use the back of the box with that angle iron to get a great looking smooth finish
AWESOME! I recently purchased a JD 650, and I was looking into a box blade. I searched and came upon this video, thank you for taking the time to put this together showing the how too's as well as the in's and out's. I apperciate it, and now I feel pretty comfortable to attach my box blade when I get it, and go out in the yard and play, oops, I mean work. ;)
Thanks for making these videos. Finally got my first tractor in January and my property has really taken shape (been here 25 year) in the past month now that things are drying out. I really love to fish, but I think I'm getting to liking my tractor more than my boat! Actually, now that I have that tractor, I might have more time to use that boat. Anybody looking for a heavily used wheelbarrow, pick, shovel and rake?
I will try. Pretty much how to determine how low to set them for starters, how to set the top link of the 3 point to get your angle, stuff like that. I have a half acre lot at home, planning on ripping it all up with the tines/shredders and then leveling it out, and putting some slope where its needed. Just looking for tips, and tricks of doing it successful yourself for somebody who doesn't know what they are doing, but likes to go play tractor out in the yard.
Thanks for the vid, I am looking for a box blade. Rather than angle the front of the blade down to dig the pins deeper, why didn't you lower the pins? I would assume that is why they are adjustable.
Thanks for the video. Would you use the box blade to cut a track along a hill in the same way you cut the ditch? Or would you use another attachment/technique
Hey ted, thanks for the "hot" hard work... just bought a place with 5 acres and a kubota bx1800. do you have the means to do a front end loader video? mine doesnt have one and i was thinking of it... just thought i would i ask...thanks again Randy
Great video... could I use the box blade to take the hill out of my drive way . It's steep at the start then levels out at top I want to make it not as steep . Thx
The box blade is a very versatile grading too and should do exactly what you're referring to! Feel free to email sales@everythingattachments.com or call Travis. We'll be glad to recommend the best box blade for your tractor and application. Thanks for watching!!
How deep of a ditch can a box blade dig? I need ditch to lay new latteral lines for a septic tank. By the way was your video recorded in Oklahoma. That red dirt looks familiar. Thanks
thanks for the video but I have another issue. I have an area that is full of various size rocks/gravel that i want to remove and use in my driveway. The issue is that even with my shanks full adjusted down and my box fully tilted to get max ripping and grabbing, the bucket still HOPS and I barely get any material. Any suggestions for adjustment.
Thanks for watching! It's probably because with three point implements, no downforce is being applied. You'd get the best results with a rock bucket on the loader: www.everythingattachments.com/Tractor-Universal-Skid-Steer-Quick-Attach-Rock-Bucket-s/65.htm
A box blade is better for moving material such as dirt or gravel because it can be contained within the box. It is also better for grading compacted soil because of the ripper shanks. A scrape blade is better for clearing snow from driveways/roads and creating/cleaning side ditches because of the adjustment features. Feel free to email us or give us a call with any questions. Thanks for watching!
What is the attachment or piece that you are using to tilt the box blade? I have a 35 hp Mahindra with a box blade and need to grade my driveway and build ditches on each side. I have searched and searched and all I have found are hydrolic tilt kits.
You want more of a drop spreader. Apply when the grass goes dormant and then follow up with a chain link fence section used as a harrow. The box blade will scalp sections of your grass.
Either can be used to form a crown by adjusting your RH side link lower than the LH. It would probably take more passes to develop it with a land plane, but the land plane will most definitely be the most efficient and easy for future maintenance. We have the best land planes in the industry here: www.everythingattachments.com/Tractor-Land-Levelers-Land-Graders-s/9893.htm You're welcome to give us a call or email if you need assistance matching the best one for your tractor and application! Thanks for watching and commenting!!
Nice job, you made using one look easy, it's not, takes skill. well said; top link adjustment is key, and notice kiddies, that's likely a 80 hp tractor on loose dirt, don't think you are going to hang a box blade on gramp's 8N and go do big bidness, be more like dropping anchor. I agree, next to my brush hog, my box blade is a very valuable tool. Good vid.
Thanks for watching! If the box blade is designed properly with the right geometry, you really shouldn't need to use weight. I guess it depends on the box blade's construction to determine if it would be OK to add weight.
If you're only 1,200 miles, shipping will probably be very low for one attachment, or most likely free if you order more than one truck freight item. Feel free to call Travis or email sales@everythingattachments.com for more info. Thanks for watching!!

Great video sir.. a good operator and a good narrator to explain it all. Thank you.
That was an important video on how to use the box blade. I was just using mine to level areas and will keep in mind how I can make a ditch using it.
Thanks.
Great info.
Appreciate your taking the time to share this. Just bought my first tractor Kubota BX and now I know how to use the box blade.
Great job guys. I just bought my first box blade and I’m looking forward to dryer weather and start my yard work.
It's nice to see a professional using a box blade and not just the driveway tune-ups.
Tractors are fun! I'm 15 hrs into my first Tractor 25hp with loader, box & tiller. Thanks for sharing great video
United makes good stuff for the money. I have a 6.5' United disk harrow to go on the back of my '98 Massey Ferguson 231. KEEP THE VIDEOS COMING TED!!!
So glad I found this video!! Drainage problems are exactly what I have and now I know how to fix them! This is perfect - thanks!!!
Excellent video! I've owned a box blade for my little John Deere 2305 form years and didn't know all these tips. Now I'm ready to go out and play doing it right and easier! Thank you.
I'd be honored if you would take a look at my box blade series on my channel and let me know what you think.
The hydraulic "Top and Tilt" Kit is a must when using a box Blade. No more manually adjusting the the top and bottom links. Thanks for the Videos.
When I am ripping, I pit on the pins such that backing up the teeth with be pushed up.

Very helpful. Quick and simple tutorial. Just what I needed to help me with a gravel driveway repair I have coming up!
Great video, exactly what I needed as I'm getting educated on tractor attachments. Thank you!
I'm glad it was useful. Thanks for watching and commenting!! #StayTuned
How to know what your tractor adjustment levers does. Like draft settings. To cut high an fill low spots automatically
Thank you sir! Great introduction. I will be the box blade this weekend.
So there going to drag you behind the tractor?
Thanks. After some flooding in February, I can see how the box blade might have helped me out.
I’m just discovering all your videos. Very good series.
Thanks for watching. We're glad you enjoy them. #StayTuned
Our Severe Xtreme box blade is for tractors with 50-100 hp, and available in category I or II. We recommend it for your tractor
These guys are awesome to work with. I recently posted a video using my EA heavy duty box blade. It’s a beast. Love it.
Very informative!! How did you decide/control what heights to use?
Your Welcome, and thanks again! No, I have not purchased a box blade yet, I'll look into your web site for sure and contact you guys.
Thank you. Excellent video.
wow, I need one now! Thanks for the vid.
WHAT DO YOU DO IF YOUR DIRT IS A BIT WET- FILLING IN A PUDDLE IN YOUR ARENA FOR EXAMPLE
I will try.

Could you please post a link for the Cleve's hitch you refer to? Great video! Thank you for posting.
Clevis Hitch ... darn spell check!
Way Awesome video! Ted and Peanut are on the top of my list now. Thank you Ted. Matthew Noell
Very helpful. Thanks.
Is this thing is better at breaking up ground for a garden than the harrow blades?
Got a 1946 2n makes my drive look good
great tool, great presentation, nice job
I always forget which way to do the top link if I want to cut down deep or if I want to smooth it out
Ted you are awesome. Thanks for sharing your knowledge
+cottonmouth2506 I totally agree. Every video I watch of Ted is amazing.
Thanks for the vid, I am looking for a box blade. Rather than angle the front of the blade down to dig the pins deeper, why didn't you lower the pins? I would assume that is why they are adjustable.
great demonstration
Thanks for the video. Would you use the box blade to cut a track along a hill in the same way you cut the ditch? Or would you use another attachment/technique
Yes sir. The box blade is a very versatile tool for many grading applications!
Outstanding videos!
Rocky soil will fill up the box with rocks. You can use them for fill or dump them but one way or another, you’ll have to deal with the rocks
Haven't seen red dirt like that since I left northern Alabama about 50 years ago. A good place to grow up.
Hey how heavy is that box blade?
Most helpful. Thanks!
Hey ted, thanks for the "hot" hard work... just bought a place with 5 acres and a kubota bx1800. do you have the means to do a front end loader video? mine doesnt have one and i was thinking of it... just thought i would i ask...thanks again Randy
Great video. Can't thank you enough..
Think you could do a video taking after this one, and show how to use the tines/shredders for dirt work?
awesome, i love my box blade. and yep i got drainage issues, never thought about turning it at an angle like that. thanks for the idea.
5 *****'s
Are those r1 tires on loader. Thanks
Great video... could I use the box blade to take the hill out of my drive way . It's steep at the start then levels out at top I want to make it not as steep . Thx

If you turn the turnbuckle to angle blade for the ditch in the opposite direction that Ted did will it angle the blade down on the opposite side?
Yes, it would do the opposite. Thanks for watching!
Excellent !
How deep of a ditch can a box blade dig? I need ditch to lay new latteral lines for a septic tank. By the way was your video recorded in Oklahoma. That red dirt looks familiar. Thanks
Actually he's located in southeastern NC
thanks for the video but I have another issue. I have an area that is full of various size rocks/gravel that i want to remove and use in my driveway. I have a rock bucket but only with a 29HP kubota...not enough power to effectively use the rock bucket either.
When would you want to use a box blade over a back blade? What are the pros and cons of each?
A box blade is better for moving material such as dirt or gravel because it can be contained within the box. It is also better for grading compacted soil because of the ripper shanks.
A scrape blade is better for clearing snow from driveways/roads and creating/cleaning side ditches because of the adjustment features.

What is the attachment or piece that you are using to tilt the box blade? I have a 35 hp Mahindra with a box blade and need to grade my driveway and build ditches on each side. I have searched and searched and all I have found are hydrolic tilt kits.
The right side shackle slides up and you turn it. Or at least that how it is on my 4025
great video
can you get grass to grow in that red clay ? I like the box blade
Yeah, grass grows in it and we can grow quite a garden as well! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Can the box blade be used to spread topdressing (say 1/4" thick) without damaging the turf (say tall fescue but to 3")?
You want more of a drop spreader. Apply when the grass goes dormant and then follow up with a chain link fence section used as a harrow.
The box blade will scalp sections of your grass.
Ground tiller 0:24
Nice one great tips!! love the bit about getting rid of standing water

Hey Ted! Great video! How do I know what size Box blade to get I have an old 1963 Massey ferguson 165 Gas?
Very Nice! Thanks!
What size could a White American 80 handle? From what I understand it is an oddball tractor. 80hp front assist, I think it is a cat 2 3pt hitch.
Make the rear wall of the housing to open both fright truck.
Nice job, you made using one look easy, it's not, takes skill. well said; top link adjustment is key, and notice kiddies, that's likely a 80 hp tractor on loose dirt, don't think you are going to hang a box blade on gramp's 8N and go do big bidness, be more like dropping anchor. any benefit in weighting a box blade with say 300lbs on top of a 72"blade
Thanks for watching! If the box blade is designed properly with the right geometry, you really shouldn't need to use weight. I guess it depends on the box blade's construction to determine if it would be OK to add weight.
Am i able to buy this machine in Australia. i live near Goulburn in NSW?
If you could I would see if y’all tractor can use a hydraulic box blade. So much easier and simpler to use. No need to keep adjusting the blade.
Where was this recorded??
Also, to save sone money on impliments can I till the ground with this device in order to plant a two acre garden?
jolly good show. enjoy all your videos
Nice Video
Great video, thanks for the education!!!
how big of a box you reccomend for a 2210 yanmar?
There is now a link in the description, Thanks for watching.

Yes, the clevis hitch is much easier to use. Thanks for watching.
X’CELLENT TUTORIAL ON HOW TO USE A BOXBLADE❗️
You should put the link in the description to make it easier so people just click on it. I'm too lazy to type in to the window..

It’s very important to get yourself a Peanut to do the driving.

Ronnie Wilcox maybe get hearing aids🦻, or turn up volume.....
Common Man how about free shipping for 1200 miles?
If you're only 1,200 miles, shipping will probably be very low for one attachment, or most likely free if you order more than one truck freight item. Feel free to call Travis or email sales@everythingattachments.com for more info. Thanks for watching!!
I found out today that this isnt as easy as it looks. lol
"How to Use a Box Blade" What about howw to properly set it up to move that soil?
I like this ...
And, when they dig in really well, the tractor will cartwheel.....at least until you jump off and that stops it.
