The purple/dark blue color for ness is actually a reference to the sprite used for his younger self (also a sprite used for a kid in polestar preschool)
Mario's blue & red costume (Ice Mario), white & red costume (Fire Mario), Wario costume, Yoshi's black color (not intended for a racist joke), Little Mac's eight other colors, Wolf's black and brown skin color (not intended for a racist joke AGAIN), etc. These are all colors and costumes I wish weren't scrapped from the game and just simply stayed.
Alright Aaronitmar, if you are reading this, then I want to let you know that Ness’ green costume is not a smash original. It is based on the color scheme of Everdred, the person who gave Ness the money for the Runaway Five to get rid of their contract, thus allowing the player to get to Threed.
I kind of understand the reasoning behind cutting the fire Mario alt, but it feels weird to not see it in the game. Especially when Luigi, Peach and Rosalina have their fire alts.
They overall did Rosalina dirty with her alternate costumes in the Smash series, more so in Ultimate, because now she wears the same colored heels for all costumes, while in Smash 4, she at least changed colors for most of them. They had the chance to change the color scheme of a lot of elements in Rosalina's design in her alternate costumes other than her dress and its star details, like hair color, crown color, her jewels' colors, even the color of her nail polish. They also missed the change to make Super Mario Galaxy 2's Cosmic Spirit one of her alternate costumes.
The biggest loss, imo, was Pit's cool blue costume. That was my go to every time I played him. I don't even touch him anymore because I am aesthetically hurt if I do.
One not mentioned here is White Kirby, only in melee. White Kirby went on to show up in Kirby Air Ride, but in Brawl onward it was changed to obviously the very grey monochrome colour.
I absolutely love the 64 and Melee Green alts for Fox. The red boots just look awesome with the jacket. Same with Link’s tunics. They just look so much better than some of the ones they got replaced with in ultimate. Oh and Sheik’s white alt in Melee.
Video suggestion: Remember how in smash 4 there were custom special attacks for each character? A video about possible custom specials for the newcomers, dlc, and returning characters would be pretty interesting.
Green Donkey Kong and Green Kirby were just Hue edits. Those colors weren't a choice in Smash64 but was needed for Team Battle. So it was a quick way to get the character to be green which is why Donkey Kong's skin was green.
Tbh the ONLY 2 characters in smash ultimate that I had to change colours for was Link & Little Mac, I mained Yellow Link and Orange Gloved Little Mac but they were gone so I had to change alts lol Also, Mii fighters, positive they had a lot of removed outfits and headgear
Pikachu's completely Smash Original cowboy hat only appeared in Melee. This was scrapped from the Super Smash Bros. series by his new headband in Brawl onward.
Her design is actually mostly a Link to the Past's Zelda, only the hair, the cape and the details on the pink thingy she wears over her white dress are from A Link Between Worlds
@@SSTrunks666 I know the english translation claimed her design is based only on ALBW Zelda, but a lot of the design choices for Ultimate Zelda were taken from ALTTP: Her earrings, the white dress having two stripes on the sleeves, the pearl necklace, her bracelets. Even her age, she looks like a teenager in Ultimate like she does in ALTTP, whereas in ALBW, she looks like a child. She's also said to be the ALTTP incarnation in Palutena's Guidance
Something I'd like to mention is that in Brawl, Sonic's orange costume was red and had darker fur. His green costume also had lighter fur. But for whatever reason, they switched the order of the wristbands, but not the colors. So, the orange costume now has the lighter fur and vice versa.
Blue Mario is such a tragic loss. I remember there was a series about super Mario 64 on UA-cam that had the blue Mario as a character but I can’t remember it for the life of me
So, a few things. Let's clobber them in bullet points: 1) Fox's costume for Wolf is still included in Ultimate, contrary to what you stated in the video. 2) Marth's purple costume in Ultimate isn't quite the same as the one in Smash 4, but it's very close. Smash 4's armor is blue while the cape is purple, but the Ultimate costume has the upper armor and cape BOTH purple. This same costume has a pale blue tunic akin to the scrapped Smash Brawl costume. Neat, huh? 3) Red Robin's new hairstyle might point to Khan Flavia(from Fire Emblem: Awakening) being the idea behind the outfit, albeit VERY loosely. Khan Flavia had blonde hair, red armor with white detailings(like I said, VERY loosely), and her starting weapon was a sword, which she was exceedingly efficient with. It might be a reference to this character, or just a Smash Ultimate original. Who knows? 4) Only bringing this up because your wording might confuse people, but Robin's golden alt is not a reference to Lissa, nor any character from Awakening. Lissa's reference is actually used for one of Lucina's costumes. This Robin alt might be a reference to someone who is in a Fire Emblem game that came before Awakening, but that's not as likely as it being a Smash Original.
The Nowi outfit felt like a tragedy to lose, honestly Smash 4 had some interesting outfits that just got scrapped (the chrom color for buff Ike was also too good).
While I think Yoshi's Crafted World costume gets a bit too much hate, and I personally enjoy using it, it never should have replaced Black Yoshi. What they should have done is given Yoshi the Little Mac treatment, where every one of his colors simply has a Crafted variation as well. If they really wanted to prevent confusion, they could have made it so that you can still only use one of either variation for the color, so no green Yoshi and green crafted Yoshi. Though I don't think it really should be that big of an issue in the first place.
i think it's hilarious how the only time it's mentioned that in ultimate zelda is from a link between worlds is from the e3 2018 direct when they straight up said that and then they dropped that entirly and now they say it's from a link to the past.
Yess, Ultimate Zelda is a mix of both these Zeldas' designs, but mostly a Link to the Past's Zelda. The hair, the cape and the details on the pink thingy she wears over her white dress are from ALBW, and most of the rest is from ALttP. There were also only some minor Smash original changes/additions made.
Donkey Kong, Pikachu, and pretty much every character should have an orange based skin. Their are only 6 to 9 characters with orange on them and it's kind of a major bummer to me

(Not to be racist) Nintendo replaced Yoshi’s black alt,
*what are they trying to say*
...why would those be racist jokes...?
@@BJGvideos the internet overreacts man
I have a suggestion for waiting the final fighter for costumes and classic routes. How about the victory theme origins
Alright Aaronitmar, if you are reading this, then I want to let you know that Ness’ green costume is not a smash original. It is based on the color scheme of Everdred, the person who gave Ness the money for the Runaway Five to get rid of their contract, thus allowing the player to get to Threed.
Aaron it at when is classic mode origins fighter pass 2 coming
he literally says this
@@waffledoctor87 this was before I saw the video
@@diegoleonelreyes probably when the last character comes out, fighter pass 2 isn’t done yet
Fire Mario was my Favorite Color until Ultimate came.
24:13 "Next we're gonna JUMP to Little Mac."
Ironic...
I always missed my Blue and Red Mario being my main, Baby Blue and Pink i hate
22:24 bring back pls that black looks clean
I kind of understand the reasoning behind cutting the fire Mario alt, but it feels weird to not see it in the game. Especially when Luigi, Peach and Rosalina have their fire alts.
They should had keep Fire Mario and get rid of that crappy black and white costume
Rosalina's 8th had a minor change which is star outlines were change from red to silver. I like how they were red in smash 4.
17:05 A little correction: The shiny Mewtwo skin is based on the 2nd gen Pokémon, as the 3rd would arrive a year later.
Great video btw :D
3:09 Aaronitmar: "This is probably a reference to the Donkey Kong Land series"
Me: "No it's Beast Boy"
I like the theory that Pichu from Melee evolved into Brawl's Pikachu. They didn't remove Pichu, it just received lots of love
But what happened to the original Smash Pikachu?
The biggest loss, imo, was Pit's cool blue costume. That was my go to every time I played him. I don't even touch him anymore because I am aesthetically hurt if I do.
Black Yoshi, you will be missed
3:21
I also think this could be a reference to King k rool
22:29 this might be a reference to his son who you get mail from in the second game and is referenced in the first
One not mentioned here is White Kirby, only in melee.
Video suggestion:
Remember how in smash 4 there were custom special attacks for each character? A video about possible custom specials for the newcomers, dlc, and returning characters would be pretty interesting.
Make it
Green Donkey Kong and Green Kirby were just Hue edits. Those colors weren't a choice in Smash64 but was needed for Team Battle. So it was a quick way to get the character to be green which is why Donkey Kong's skin was green.
I just realized that he's using Project M for showing the brawl colors.
Getting rid of fire Mario was one of their worst decisions
Especially since Luigi, Peach and Rosalina keep their
Tbh the ONLY 2 characters in smash ultimate that I had to change colours for was Link & Little Mac, I mained Yellow Link and Orange Gloved Little Mac but they were gone so I had to change alts lol
Also, Mii fighters, positive they had a lot of removed outfits and headgear
Nope, all of them are in the game now that Lloyd from Tales is in the game.
@@yoshsplatz8540 the neon suit and the hoodie isn’t in the game, and there’s a lot of headgear from smash 4 that didn’t make it to ultimate
Pikachu's completely Smash Original cowboy hat only appeared in Melee. This was scrapped from the Super Smash Bros. series by his new headband in Brawl onward.
I am still offended that Fire Mario was scrapped.
Can you do another costume concept video where you bring back classic costumes alt from previous smash Bros games into ultimate
I miss the Ocarina Link
WE WANT BLACK YOSHI BACK
Fire Mario, Black Yoshi, Green Pichu, and Marth's Roy variant. Those were my favorites.
25:12 What is this God forbidden combination?!!
6:37 Yoshi’s Crafted World was in development at the time of the release of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Quick note, I think Zelda’s Smash Ultimate design is based off of ‘A Link Between Worlds’, not ‘A Link to the Past’.
Well, it's kinda a mix between both, as neither is 1-to-1 with the Smash version, like how Sm4sh Link was a mix between TP and SS.
Her design is actually mostly a Link to the Past's Zelda, only the hair, the cape and the details on the pink thingy she wears over her white dress are from A Link Between Worlds
@@2000fiona Go to this video: ua-cam.com/video/L93H7YC-83o/v-deo.html&ab_channel=Nintendo
and @ 8:38 Sakurai discusses Zelda's new look haha.
@@SSTrunks666 I know the english translation claimed her design is based only on ALBW Zelda, but a lot of the design choices for Ultimate Zelda were taken from ALTTP:
Her earrings, the white dress having two stripes on the sleeves, the pearl necklace, her bracelets. Even her age, she looks like a teenager in Ultimate like she does in ALTTP, whereas in ALBW, she looks like a child.
She's also said to be the ALTTP incarnation in Palutena's Guidance
@@2000fiona You're really pulling on strings my man haha it's okay to accept when you're wrong. No shame here!
I remember there was a series about super Mario 64 on UA-cam that had the blue Mario as a character but I can’t remember it for the life of me
I think it was Mario vs Oiram by MarioMario54321
So, a few things. Let's clobber them in bullet points:
1) Fox's costume for Wolf is still included in Ultimate, contrary to what you stated in the video.
9:42 Luigi's idle animation looks interesting.
25:57 Red Robin Hood?
It's hard to believe we have gone through so many costumes. And we will go through many more.
I hope Sakurai adds a color modifier mode
2:49 Its Dankey Kang
My favourite Mario’s Blue & red outfit
2nd favourite is pit as dark pit
3rd favourite brown Samus
It’s nice seeing the old costumes again
Rip Black Yoshi
Also one can pretend that DK's green color is a reference to Beast Boy, even though it for obvious (and legal) reasons isn't
The Nowi outfit felt like a tragedy to lose, honestly Smash 4 had some interesting outfits that just got scrapped (the chrom color for buff Ike was also too good).
Fun fact: Ike’s blue costume is not actually sigurd, it’s actually references elena, Ike and mist’s mom and Greil’s wife
Apparently that isn't what Sakurai said and they just dubbed it like that. She's meant to be a mix of both, apparently.
@@BJGvideos oh. I mean that's believable, she does seem a lot like both.
Their are only 6 to 9 characters with orange on them and it's kind of a major bummer to me
5:40
You just name dropped my favorite gamecube game.
