Since I’ve started watching Dr. Dray’s videos, I’ve tried a lot of sunscreens. I have found that some leave your face feeling more “greasy” than others. At this point, I use the “mattifying” ones in the summer and the more “greasy” feeling ones in the winter. That has been the best way for me to get the protection of sunscreen while managing my winter dryness and summer oil slick. Trial and error has helped me to narrow my preferences down a lot. On another note.... I miss Mom and her puppy. I hope she is doing well and will come back to the videos soon.

Yes to the niacinamide! I had oil production that always shocked dermatologists and aestheticians, and niacinamide helped. I also have cystic acne that is in moderate severity when treated ineffectively. Niacinamide in 4-5%, without other actives, keeps me 99% clear. Unfortunately, it does sting and burn at that concentration, so I took it down to 2%, but it still works exceptionally well.

Hello dr Dray, I trust your expertise when you say that products do not make you oily, but I still do not understand why certain products cause my skin to leave a huge amount of oily film on my fingers when I touch my face, while other products do not do that. It’s not the product itself that leaves the film because the oily film is left on my fingers only in on nose and chin and not forehead and cheeks. Some products result in this while others do not. What is the mechanism that causes this since it is not the product itself? Can you explain it to us so we can understand better?

Hello from Germany!! I love your channel and the content you share. That is why I turn to you to help me out with a question that I have in relation to mineral sunscreens. I suffer from seborrheic dermatitis and my extremely oily skin is also terribly sensitive. So I don't use makeup at all and my skincare routine is pretty minimal: cleanser + moisturizer + sunscreen. The sunscreen I use at the moment is chemical (Isntree Hyaluronic Watery Sun Gel spf50 PA ++++). I feel that it does not irritate my skin despite containing 6 filters, but my skin feels a bit hot after the application and sometimes during the day, also when I work for a long time at the computer my skin becomes red, which gives me to think that it does not protect from blue rays or infrared light. As for physical sunscreens, I tend not to prefer them because they are generally oily, heavy, the white cast they leave behind is terrible and they tend to accumulate in my already super-enlarged pores. I have been trying Clinique spf 30/50 mineral sunscreen (the 50 is slightly heavier), I like it because it has few ingredients, it is easy to spread and it is not so terrible in the first application, but after several reapplications I become a ghost!!. However, I noticed something particular that I had not experienced with chemical sunscreens, and that is that my skin did not feel hot or red at any time of the day, even when working in front of the computer for several hours. So my question is:
How to reapply a mineral sunscreen when not wearing makeup? or how to counteract the whitish effect with these sunscreens?
I know the importance of using tinted sunscreens vs. untinted sunscreens, because they provide superior protection. My question has always been on how to use this type of sunscrees, since a generous amount must be applied to obtain good protection and with a mineral tinted spf, well... I don't know, I wouldn't know how to make them work.
I would appreciate any kind of help you can give me.
    Thank your!!

Can you please do a video on whether using a hormone blocking shampoo could be used as a face wash? You mention it somewhere else. I’d love to try this to tackle the cause of oiliness but would like more information on usage first. Thanks for your videos.

I think a lot of people are mistaking the greasy or sticky feeling some products leave you with for oily skin, which is not the same thing.

Love this! Yet another great video full of valid information from Dr Dray 🌻
Would love your next video to be for those of us with dry skin. I have combo skin but more so on the dry side and I have suffered with dermatitis in the past.
I have a quick question, I’m not sure if you can answer on here but I’ve been using prescription tretinoin 0.05 the cream form. I have had no purging really a little zit here and there and peeling in the skin on the face but no crazy redness no pain and it never has stung going on. Is it even working for me or should I go up to 0.1 ? I thought it was supposed to be potent. I have used many different OTC retinols in the past over a couple of years very slowly and finally graduated to tret, however, I’m feeling discouraged because I wanna know it’s doing it’s job. 😔

Basically everything you mentioned in this video is already in my skincare routine except for retinol and green tea...unless drinking green tea counts?!
