Wow, this actually worked for me when nothing else did. I even tied the cable off to a tree, put the winch in freespool and backed up and it still wouldn't budge, but somehow this worked! Thanks so much!!!
Matt I just want you to know that your the only channel that I actually make sure I watch the ads to make sure you get my few pennies for watching!
Brandon Finlay I do the same and click on the visit advertisement button
I’m not the ones who normally comments, but this trick helped me out in less than 10 seconds.
I thought I was going to have to tear
apart the whole winch, but this tip saved me a whole bunch of time.
Thanks a lot!
I gotta say THANK YOU GUYS!!!!
I absolutely thought I was gunna have to take hours digging into my Warn that was totally FUBAR. Your trick fixed it in about 10 seconds. Thanks again!!
Worked for me with my synthetic rope which was good and jammed from ploughing. Thanks so much guys!
Great to hear!
Could you do a video on choosing the right winch, like you did with the wheels?
And could you do a comparison on a cheap winch and a namebrand like Warn or Superwinch?
In the oil field we use a cable clamp, that can be set anywhere on the line with one hand. This might be useful for someone. Also I have used it to hold 3000#. Some of our lines are 18000’ long & need to be rapped straight & tight. But only one idiot to mess up the wire. When wire crossed over another wrap & pulled tight. This under cuts the bottom wire, weaking it. Avoid loops at cost, this kink is weak. Hope this helps
Wrapped it around a trailer hitch and backed up a bit to give me slack. Thanks for the tip man!
THANK YOU! I knew in my head that this would work, but then I saw your video to confirm my theory! Thank you!
Great tip. Been watching your videos for years. Love them and have learned a lot from you. Was thinking, zip tie the cables together would give the appearance and effect of a jamb for the video.
you should also show how to mend both pieces back together, just in case the failure happens way down the line. Just as easy as what you just posted. Great vid though, truly love your work Matt.
Thanks for the tip.
You should do a walk around video of his jeep
put'chya a glove er sumthin right there... best description ever ;)
Oh my gosh, you're awesome! Thanks so much for the info! I just tried this, and can't believe how easy it was to get my winch unstuck!! THANKS!!!!!
Thanks for the video! Just saved me a huge headache...
thank you so much just made what I thought was gonna be hard so bloody easy got it unjammed in 5 mins thanks
Nice tip....thanks a lot for the effort. I didn't know this.
Wow, that worked like magic! Thank you!
That's pretty much what I've found as well. You don't have to be nearly as gentle with winch line as they make out...which is the way it should be really.
Kinda like undoing a backlash on a casting reel, cool tip
Thanks, from Czech R. you are genius, you helped me a lot!
This helped me so much! Like this is my go to video.
Great tip.
Thanks for the info, I used this trick today.
Gives a walk-around and the specs on that cj8... please.
Yes more info on the CJ. I own both CJ and XJ
Thanks much. Worked great!
.."Get it unbirdnested".......ROFLMAO.....LOVE IT......that's a good'un.
Y’all saved my bacon today! Thank you!
A free tip from an isuzu guy... To reel your line in with some tension... Drill through a bowling ball. Install an eye bolt. Now you have a weight to hook to the end of the line. Makes it easier to feed the line back in correctly.
Or hook the winch to a tree or another car and winch in neutral on flat ground
Or run it it through one ear and out the other....
Just hook it on the belt of the "dumb" friend. Come on I know y'all have one, that is unless you are the "one"... 🤣
Cory, best suggestion yet! :)
You all do great public service announcements. :)
Thanks for the video! It saved my butt
Thank you!
We always called that a "buried cable"
I dont think you realize how much you saved my ass.... would have been stuck in clay for hours
I bet the guy that drives that red dodge caliber in the background is a sexy dude, just saying.
I just got here 10 months late and it seem Sundance's partner's comments have been removed. But I got a giggle out of your two responses. Keep up the good work! Cheers.@@jeremycampbell7571
shit dawg i just wedge a sturdy piece of metal like a tire iron in my bullet holes and tie some cable to it. ba-da-boom free winch
Thx..nice info to know...just in case.
Love the winch, I have two of them
When is Jerome Hogg gonna put that dana 60 in the Chubby Chaser?
What Dana 60?
Bad things never happen when you want! Lol
Love the videos
It's funny that in the 20 or so years I used a metal wire cable on my Warn It only got bound up three or four times that I can remember, but since I changed over to a synthetic rope cable it seems like it gets bound up every second or third time I use the darn thing. I can't seem to get the rope tight enough on the drum to not get bound up. I like the synthetic rope for it's weight and the wire "splinters" I haven't gotten form it! But I have gotten that damn thing so bound up several times that I thought I was going to have to cut it off before screwing with it for entirely too long before it came loose and was usable again. Any tricks or tips for that?
Wrap it under load!
i already do that after each use while guiding the rope in too. Thanks for the reply though!
why didn't you go to king of the hammers this year??
G'day Matt, How many foot pounds is your Warn winch Mate?
Hi guys, I'd seen a video a while back, I could swear it was one of yours but I could he mistaken, showing how to wind synthetic rope onto a winch and it showed some kind of under wrap trick thing, now I can't find that video in my history for the life of me, however I'd just seen some video for a bubba wrap, or something like that, which is basically the same thing except for that you have to buy their piece, it's not using the rope you already have to install. If you guys know what I'm talking about and can point me to the video showing the trick, or make a short video showing it, I'd appreciate it.
All I remember is they wrapped the rope around the drum a couple times and somehow tucked it under the wraps, then bolted it down, But i don't recall the process.
Thanks in advance to anyone that knows what I'm trying to get at and can help.

Right Haha!!
Hi
Go VOLS!
scooter2nc GBO
It may not seem to be the best idea but I just tie my Jeep to a tree uphill and just put it in neutral
Like this
Its a crime to get your cowboy hat that grimy
This didn’t work mine just snapped
looks like a good way to weaken a cable by trying to get it pinched.
Jack London Pretty much!!🤣
you blokes might have 44 inch tyres buy damn your light years behind us in winches
ditch the cable and get some 11 mm good quality rope
and they don't like changing directions on the spot well high mounts don't when there at full speed going 1 way and you click opposite direction hurts the brushes
otherwise great video my navigator regularly has to unbind my rope during race stages if we have to do a long winch with a side pull
8274 cant be stuck!
Is he doing the YMCA dance beside his gay pride sticker ?
Nope, didn't work.
Thumb up 👍👍👍
