@rhythmaddict808 oh man, I just replied to your other post. You from Maui, too!! Me, too! My mom, sister and dad all still live there. Hopefully I coming home mid-May.
I absolutely LOVE red bean paste and made some recently to control the amount of sugar - store bought pastes are WAY too sweet for my taste as it overwhelms the delicious nuttiness of the beans. I knew to add vanilla but the butter too - OH MY, a must try!! We had it spread on buttered toast and the texture contrast was delicious but soft on soft is next level indulgence. I don't need more carb temptations in my life but I'll make an exception for red bean paste because of the fibre LOL! Cheers from Oz!
@rhythmaddict808 yes! I'm from Maui. You from Hawaii? I miss getting food from the gas station and our "7-11" type places. The best bento and deli foods. No can compare to the mainland, which is where I currently living, near St Louis Mo.
I love this! In my country, Czechia, we make them very similarly-only we call them 'napařované knedlíky' or 'blbouni,' and they are usually filled with plum jam. :)

omg you spoil me so bad ... :) I love this sweet bean steamed bun... every weekend I'll head to the Korean Grocery shop H-MART ... and get some of these for snacks :) Thanks for sharing 🙏
@@PieceOfSource Hi 👋 The thumbnail just has the bun and half cut bun. There is nothing misleading. But you are totally entitled to your opinion, that you find it “questionable.”
This is a totally new way of using beans to me here in South Africa . Beans are normally savory, this will be very interesting to try making . Thank you ❤❤❤
I followed this recipe down to my last hair and teeth, and unfortunately the dough would not rise at all even when I had it sit and cover for more than an hour. And so when I steam it, they come out all rubbery and nothing like in the video. 😢

Ever since I saw your clip I’m dreaming of making this!!!❤

I agree. It’s very sweet.
Same way how I ate my sweet bean "manapua" when I was little. I'm gonna have to make these!!
I love manapua! Charshu! The gas station I go to sells them! Also Musubi's!

@@odettemarillier1297 YES 🙌 Totally a new way to enjoy beans as a sweet snack😋
Can I use Adzuki beans or does it have to be red beans or kidney beans? I think I bought these Adzuki beans from an Asian market.
@@michaeloconnor467 Yes, Adzuki beans are what we Koreans use, we call them Ppat.
In South America and Europe we eat beans as salty meal with meat at lunch or breakfast. So interesting Asians use as dessert

Never drink the bean water like that because of the anti-nutrients that come out of the beans that’s in it.
