Ah cheerios and red bull. One to make your heart healthy and one to restart that damage you're doing
"That's the vitamins tearing out the inside of your stomach!"
I envision him using the redbull with the cheerios instead of milk
Cheerios were recently found to contain chemicals that can cause Developmental disorders, Infertility, and several other issues...
Healthy my fat white ass!
15:48 The gasp I let out LOL. I was looking at my phone and my head straight turned I was so shook. Then I laughed.
15:44 - 15:50 lmaoooooo! I did NOT see that coming!
9:22 "wow, thanks for making me this cool glass flute! I'm sure it'll come in useful in battle! "
Yeah..... flute. That's what I made
"Yo bro pass that"
"Man that's my galarian weezing you trippin'"
16:57 i cracked up at this, “the guide tells us about one path at point D, but it looks like the surprised face and i thought that was pretty funny” D:
16:03 the way I see it, Kyogre is completely surrounded. What's under the ocean? That's right, more land.
The sudden “like your mom” jokes are always hilarious. Definitely makes me lol whenever I hear them. 😂
16:23 Juan does appear momentarily in ORAS. When unlocking Sky Pillar, if I remember correctly, Wallace is talking to someone who, according to Wallace, is his teacher. Combining this with dialogue found in Emerald, that very well could be Juan. Am I stretching this? Maybe. I mean, the guy doesn't even have a unique model or anything. Maybe its just me, but I've always believed that was Juan.
14:04 the safari zone attendant behind the counter will stop you and tell you you need a poke block case which he tells you you can get one at the contest hall.
"beating a dead Miltank"
Such a missed opportunity for "beating a dead Horsea" 😂
I’m sure MandJTV would live the Hail Yeah after receiving Castform
Video idea : play through a Pokémon game and use the same guides as the ones in the Nintended series but do exactly the opposite of what they tell you to do
Can't believe the guide spoiled the Steven fight. Except for the evil Braille puzzle, I'm happier having not had the guides as a kid. Always love to watch you use them!
Got my like at 17:43 😂😂
7:16 actually goated advice. Everyone keeps whining about the second rival fight, even though it's trivial compared to second rival fights in past games, just because people try to beat it with an underlevelled starter and nothing else. Truly a guide ahead of its time
Greatest of all time-ed advice?
@@ItsRainingBloodIsHeCrying Yeah that's how it works
I still have my emerald guide book. Used to take to school for our mandatory reading time.
You can beat this dead Milktank forever and I will always watch it! 😂
Shouldn't it be a spectrier, not a miltank? Beating a dead (ghost type) horse
Had this exact guide book and used a sceptile skarmory gyrados and raichu like the book did for a team
Hearing PaPa say “whipping out my copy” almost had me spit out my drink. If you know, you know.
On the point that this guide doesn't remind you later to go back to places, instead only mentioning everything available in that area, I personally prefer that. It's not holding your hand and telling you step by step what to do, but it provides all of the information for you, more like if you're making notes on the game as you go. Like you pass by Mr Briny's house and it makes note that he will let you travel later once you save Peeko. When playing through, game dialog gives you the same hint. You save Peeko and Mr Briny says he'll help you out, then afterwards you're asked to go to Dewford and Slateport. You aren't directly told "go find Mr Briny", but if you're paying attention as you play, it's meant to trigger your memory so you'll talk to the guy that said he'll help you and happens to live next to the water with a dock and a boat. And the guide helps you keep track of that, you look through to where Mr Briny's house is and it confirms that yes, he will take you where you need to go.
So no, it's less direct, like other guides that will tell you to save Peeko, return to Rustborough, go to the Devon Building, then go back to Mr Briny's house to be taken to Dewford. But those guides I feel hold your hand. It's not really helping you get through the game so much as it is telling you exactly what to do, more like a walkthrough. But this style of guide instead helps you find the answers, helping you keep track of information you're given or can find yourself to help you figure out what to do next instead of just telling you the next step.
Another, probably more clear example would be with the Regis. A more hand-holding style of guide would tell you to go to Pacifidlog Town, grab a Relicanth, a Wailord, something with Surf, something with Dive, and something with Dig, give you the exact path through to where you use Dive, the exact path to where you resurface, tell you to put Relicanth first and Wailord last, then go to the end of the room, then go through to the next room and use Dig at the exact spot, etc.
But this guide points out the various spots to find the Regis whenever you're near them, just keeping track of the hints for their locations when you might be able to spot them yourself, then tells you about Pacifidlog Town and mentions the rapids to the left of the town that lead back to Slateport, suggesting it may be worth your time trying to navigate them. Then it just gives you a zoomed out map of the entire thing, the same you could work out by repeatedly traversing it. It doesn't tell you the exact path to take, but seeing the zoomed out map shows the spot you need to use Dive, much like if you came close and passed by it while just looking to see what's there. And since you have the full map, which shows where the rapids are and the direction they take you if you're paying attention, you can use the map to trace out the path you need to take, so you don't need to go through trying to remember where everything is as you work out how to get there and have to Fly back every time you mess up and hope you remember better the next time. Then it just gives you a map showing the underwater areas and the cave it connects to. Then it says you need to figure out the puzzle and once you solve it, you can go find the Regis. But if you need help, instead of just telling you what to do, it gives you a chart showing every symbol and the letter it represents so you can cross-reference it with what you see in game to find the solution yourself.
What's more satisfying? Being told the answer to the puzzle, or getting help solving the puzzle yourself?
That's just my opinion. I know sometimes it is better to just be told the answer, sometimes it's all you want or need or care about, especially for videos like this. But when you're a new player experiencing it all yourself, playing just for the sake of playing instead of just wanting to get it done (which sounds harsher than it's intended to, in the sense of time conservation, not interest), it's a lot more satisfying to find the answers yourself, even if it takes a bit of help.
Ok, but isn't a guide meant to hold your hand?
I get wanting different things and different guides providing that, but handholding isn't a flaw in this case.
Hearing Papa call it "Chiminey" threw me off
🎵 Mt Chiminey Mt Chiminey Mt Chim-Chim-Chiree
i just realised I've been watching papasea for 2 years lol
The fucking jokes in this video, between Flannery, the glass blowing guy, and of course, your mom, this is incredibly well written
*googles her age*
Don't forget "wish someone would pump me" like bro what
Love that you kept using the term "Hammering away", respect +
Was that a Hail Yeah I heard in the Weather Institute 11:43
Greetings, fellow PokéFan!
I got that reference too. Nice when UA-camr references another UA-camr
I was expecting Wurmple to be named Heimlich because he turned into a butterfly.
I'm still happy to hear you use "two shakes of a lamb's tail," and the other phrases from that one strange old guide way back when. Thank you for another wonderful episode in the series!
God be with you out there, everybody. ✝️ :)
1:37 "Ineffective team"-literally shows an applicant for Team Sky. MandJTV would like to know your location.
It's great these guides do get you a solid team by the end.
I need an entire genre of content like this.
I have a lot of other videos like this already if you wanna watch those
Alway good to see the berry page! Glad to hear it’s safe and secure.
1:16 Surely that's a James Hunt reference! 🤣
13:19 I remember as a kid thinking that area gave you access to the other starters cause it played the intro music
13:42 originally it was reversed Blue for Groudon Red for Kyogre the ORAS remakes changed that however
14:00 in this game that fight is optional but in the remakes ORAS they force you to do it
14:48 this random admin is named Matt and his Archie's brother
16:22 not forgettable if you have watched the anime shit was one f the dopest gym battles in my opinion
18:13 look at Azumaril´s movements it matches the rhythm of starting champion is defeated theme
Love your videos :D Keep up the good work :3 looking forward to more videos.
This book had an AMAZING poster in the middle, a larger size version of the one that came with the game.
The guide has some flaws(I don't think it lists encounters on the route pages) but it's still useful, my nephew just started Pokemon Emerald and I let him borrow my beat up copy of this guide.
Now i wanna see someone beat the game with the “ineffective team”
Aren’t like four of the Pokemon on that team like top tier choices for gen 3 nuzlokes
@@ashtonwestfall4777guess so but their weak together according to the guide
My brother had this guide when we were young, the nostalgia just seeing it is crazy😂
I definitely consider you a Pokemon Guru of sorts 😂 also I enjoy these Nintended videos I used to get the guides and do exactly this
Awesome video
Would it be possible to do a Nintended Nuzlocke with these guides
Also how about some Hammer Away merch since pretty synonymous with these runs now
Like Keep Calm and Hammer Away shirt would be a fun one
Now that I see it, I understand why the PRIMA guide was better at that time. It actually shows the Pokemon that you might find on each route as well as their frequency. I remember trying for days to get a Volbeat because the guide said "Very Rare" but I didn't know that meant 1 % chance. 😂
Please do not stop UA-cam I love watching your videos❤
I’ve been waiting for this one! This is the one pokemon guide book I had as a child! 💚
Gen 3 was the first gen I played, I particularly love the music.
You called Sky Pillar Spear Pillar... gen 4 on the brain?
I definitely didn't beat it this way
u could upload the same game every week and we wouldn’t complain, content is content
I had this one growing up! if it wasnt so weird and vague i never would have used the internet and found serebii and shoddybattle
Papasea is so underrated :)
PapaSea and Emerald. Two awesome things separately, which become even more brilliantly amazing, when combined. Thanks for the great content, luv. Wish you, and anyone reading this, a fantastic rest of the day, week, month and year.
One love ❤❤❤
Edit: 10:35 God, I love your videos.
Nice Video, i have the same guide in german :D and yes i also have the berry page xD
I'm surprised the guide picked Sceptile, considering Blaziken and Swampert are seen as so much stronger.
I wish I had my old emerald game and guide. Since it helped me out greatly
The drake not like us line was lit!!
I actually obtained a physical copy of Emerald yesterday im excited to play it
Your mom jokes , I like them .
Looking up Flannery's age just had me rotfl bro I'm sent
I spent weeks as a kid training my swellow to level 50 after the first gym, not knowing that you have to back track to progress in the game😂😂
I am literally eating cheerios while I watch this 😮
Using cut to win the whole damn game was wild😂
17:44 peak humor.
I do find it funny that before you said Flannery is hot, you looked up on how old Flannery and she's 18. You totally scratched that joke last second 🤣🤣🤣
lol no it was always planned like that
That ineffective team is based
Pokemon emerald was the first and only Pokemon game I train all my Pokemon to level 100
13:36
i actually heard a very funny theory regarding why Archie takes the red orb and Maxie takes the blue orb.
both villains are complete idiots because they dont understand the water cycle. if Kyogre makes it rain a bunch, the water from that rain will come from the oceans, meaning the total water level wont change at all, and similarly with Groudon if he evaporates all the water in the oceans then that water vapor will just fall back down as rain again and the ocean levels wont change.
instead what they should be doing if they want to achieve their goals is the exact opposite. Archie should try to capture Groudon to make him melt the polar ice caps which will raise the water levels in the oceans and make more seamass, whereas Maxie should be trying to capture Kyogre to make him freeze more polar ice caps to lower the water levels and create more landmass.
they grabbed the right orb, but went to the wrong pokemon
16:05 "Spear" Pillar? 🤭
My childhood!! Also I think the first game that I got. (And was just mine, no forced sharing)
They need to hire him for legends za's guidebook
“Not like us” 😂😂
This is probably one of the clunkiest guides so far. You have to flip through it constantly when you get a bit further and get bombarded with useless info early on about stuff that happens very lategame. Not even a list of Pokemon found in a route D:
You really need to do PMD sky WITH the post game and episodes.
I tried EoD and it didn’t do so well
Beating pokemon emerald using nintendo powers “innefective team”
I had this (might still somewhere).
"Effective Team"
>Sceptile
Ntm on Sceptile smh 😔
You should do a pikmin how Nintendo intended
Use a guide to beat Advance Wars as Nintendo intended.
16:09 Spear Pillar? 😝
Beating a dead "Rapidash"
I had this same guide as a kid but I used it so much it eventually fell apart! Can I ask what the guide's recommended team for the elite four and champion was? I half remember that it listed two options for each recommended type but not what they were
Shiny hunting with a ddr dance mat 😂
you'll see more about that next week
Drake not like us!!!!
15:49
Ayo pause 💀💀💀
I don't know, I feel like the guide is really flawed. Without Prior knowledge there are so many points where you'd just get stuck. Which is a failure grade for any guide.
6:05 it’s Rej ice not Regi ice
Was Altering Cave even functional IN Japan?
I think the events were in person or something
Let’s just whip out my co ( 😱😱) py ok pokemon emerald ( 😮💨😮💨)
Is this the third time you have done this same challenge?
You eat cheerios with Red Bull instead of milk? Sounds disgusting
Hail yeah! What a good video :)
wait. this isn't a zoombini's playthrough...
make me a pizza!
@@PaPaSea 🍕 only piece i got. sorry chief
Please collaborate with lord enter the unknown!
Flannery is too young for Dr. disrespect
I wrote the script before all that came out and I was very tempted to add a jab to him in that section
now do the battle frontier
Your mom strikes again 😭
aaaand I just learned that you can get amulet coin from your mum....
Will you hammer away?
Funny how you googled the age of Flannery, cuz I remember once doing the same with Pheobe.
If you are worried about calling Flannery hot, note that Brock the rock is 15. Something something rock hard!
i have this guide :D
"We go through it anyway "pumping the Aqua Grunts for information" (really wish someone would pump me)" @PaPaSea Hello???
G L A S S
That flannery check was very gold and very valid 😂
