Open the shortcuts app on your iPhone and tap on All Shortcuts. Now tap on the 3 dots in the corner of the shortcut you wish to add to your apple watch face. This will open the editor and here you want to tap on the little information or I icon in the bottom menu. Make sure that this option to show your shortcut on your watch is enabled. Tap Done and Done again to finish editing the shortcut and then switch over to the Settings app. Tap on your Apple ID, followed by iCloud. Here we want to ensure your Shortcuts are syncing with iCloud, so tap on Show All, and scroll down to enable it.
Having done this, I now recommend manually running the Shortcut on your Watch. I often find that the shortcut sometimes doesn’t appear on my Watch, and going through each of the steps in this video seems to fix any issues. If you don’t see your shortcut listed on your watch don’t worry, keep following along. We’ll switch back to our iPhone and open the Apple Watch app. Tap on General, followed by Background App Refresh. Scroll down and make sure that your Shortcuts app is enabled here too. Now go back to the main screen and tap on the watch face you wish to add your shortcut to. Scroll down to the section on Complications and choose a location. Scroll down to shortcuts. You should hopefully see your Shortcut listed as an option and you just simply tap to select it. If you’ve followed all the previous steps and still do not see your shortcut listed here, I recommend restarting your watch and your phone. That should fix it. You can set your watch face as current and now it’s just a matter of tapping the shortcut on your watch to run it. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be a way of preventing or disabling this prompt from appearing. I’ve trawled through several reddit forums and it seems you do have to tap to confirm each time you wish to run your shortcut. The only way I know of getting around this prompt is to use Siri to start your shortcut. So if I tell Siri to start my daily run. It will skip the confirmation prompt and immediately execute my shortcut.
