    All great advice. BTW I watch a lot of your video lately and I really appreciate like your tone/choice of word on this one. A lot of your other video had a few snarky remark/provocation. I don't get why you do that. It gives you the image of a frustrated coach that no one listen to who thinks he better than everyone else. Hopefully that is not true. Don't let resentment creeps in.
    You have truly original training method and you know your stuff.
    Your channel is going to explode in no time.

      In my opinion and this works for me : always look where’re your teammates at the court before getting the ball. This will help realizing where’re all of your teammates at + knowing where all the defenders at

    I’ll say this, building muscle does help, but basketball is all about working smarter, not harder, I would definitely recommend watching Luka Doncic, and Jalen Brunson, they’re not the strongest, and the fastest players, but they’re really good at using different things to their advantage, Joel embiid is another good basketball player to watch too.

    How can i improve my ability to catch rebounds? Thanks

    • @jamesbooth12
      @jamesbooth12 Місяць тому +2

      I don’t know your current skill level, so I’m going to go with some very basic stuff. If I oversimplified, I apologize in advance.
      1. When you’re shooting around at home or at the park, try to get the ball before it makes one bounce. This will get you used to catching it. As well, it will help you to predict where the ball is going to go after it hits the rim and/or backboard. It may seem overly simple, but it’s effective.
      2. Take a ball. Find a wall that you’re allowed to bounce a ball off of. Underhand throw the ball against the wall. Because you are underhand throwing it, the ball will rotate forward, and it will bounce off and up - allowing you to practice catching the ball in the air. Practice with both hands. Practice with one hand at a time. Practice timing your catch at the highest point that you can jump.
      3. Boxing out is huge for most people. Find a friend, parent, neighbor, anyone who will help you. Practice boxing him/her out. Make contact with your body against the other rebounder as soon as the shooter is shooting it.
      Rebounding, a lot of the time, is about effort and positioning. I’ve had small players who out-rebound tall players all day.
      Hope this helps!
