I had a 530d Msport in that colour and trust me it looks almost black in normal lighting.. Lovely colour but nearly always ex GB management cars or BMW demos....
Just picked mine up a few days ago as a present for my 50th from my wife. Still in break in period but every time I get in it puts a smile on my face and I cant wait till I can really drive it. Rick

Nice review! I’ve had my 2016 M4 Competition for about 6 years. I still smile every time my garage door goes up! 😊 Great daily drive and turns into a monster with the push of the M1 or M2 button. No issues at all and I’m at 55,000 miles. Best car I’ve ever owned! 🏁🏁
I test drove one of these today. To the average consumer, or at least a regular Joe who has this at their upper most point in the budget, this thing feels and sounds like a super car. I cannot understand how anyone (unless their POV has been distorted by cars three times the price) can say this thing sounds disappointing. I appreciate you can't mention everything in a short review, but for anyone reading, the black carbon effect body kit is an additional £3000 extra on top of the comp pack.
@@just.for.the.downshifts I've just bought one of these a week ago and after watching many reviews I was expecting it to sound pretty average but it sounds nothing like it does on these videos. Its throaty and has some real grunt to the sound inside the cabin, maybe its the fake sound pumped into the cabin which I switched off on mine using Bimmercode. Don't be put off by this video, go and drive one yourself and decide then. The car is an absolute riot to drive, i cant stop smiling when I drive it, the suepnsion is pretty tight though, even in comfort setting but then it is an M car.

This is not just a competition pkg...It is a 2018 LCI facelift version with hexagonal LED headlight, LED taillight, full exterior carbon pkg (black grilles, splitter/front lip, black fender badges, carbon mirror caps, carbon spoiler, carbon diffuser, carbon), full interior carbon pkg (not just the trim, but also dct gear knob, shfter panel), alcantara steering wheel, carbon ceramic brake.....
Its still a m4 competition pack. all those extras dont do anything when it comes to the way how it drives and ccb is not really the best option on open roads. And those actually are regular m4 seats, not sure what ur looking at...

Test drove a BMW M4 comp today in Jas marine blue - it was stunning and it sounds superb in sport 3 mode when reaching 7000 RPM or more. The looks are absolutely spot on - looks so planted at any angle - beautiful. Just thought gearbox could have been faster on the changes but just nipicking here.
I disagree with anyone who thinks this car doesn't sound good. I think it sounds amazing, especially considering its turbocharged. To me, it sounds exactly how an E46 would sound with a turbocharger. I also think it looks better than its rivals as well! My god, that paint is gorgeous!! If it were my choice, M4 Competition without a doubt.
Your right, I have S54 and S55 powered M cars, it's true to the M car straight 6 ethos but as you say with a whole load of turbo sounds, remember this torque monster turbo engine still revs to just under 8000, incredible. As has been said it's one of the best turbo engines money can buy and also returns mpg figures e92 owners can only dream of :)

I’ve been looking a F82 2017 onwards completion pack for the last three months. This video just sealed the deal. My G30 530d is superb all rounder. Mapped to 545 lb ft! But I want to have one last hurrah for Petrol and the F82 comp is it!
I don't think they'll do an M2 Competition Pack, but there is a CS / CSL on the way next year and rumours of a GTS to close out this model range in 2019/2020

+DreadScythe 95 Yes its the king of the track but to be fair the c63 is not that far behind within the 1 second range....which is very negliable in the real world since people don't take there cars to track anywhere near as much as they use them on the road let alone compete in competitions where even one second matters assuming they can even acheive lap times equivalent of that of race car drivers.... But where the m4 beats the c63 on the track the c63 more than makes up for it with its better interior/comfort and sound. So the amg is leans more to the gt side and the m4 leans more to the race car side.

But i noticed it didnt have a competition badge under the title badge, and asked about this and he reassured that it was a comp. And even when i search "f82 m4 competition rear" on google, barely any of them have a competition badge... Whats going on?
A late reply but for anyone else reading this: F80s and F82s comps did not come with a competition name under the badge (if any f8X has that, it was aftermarket) rather it was just a black badge. You can tell comp vs non comps by the following: -comp seats -rear black badge -style 666m wheels - m colours stitching on the seat belts -makes 444hp You can also check the vin on some BMW vin-decoders. Happy hunting
I love how M3s look on the road, in my opinion no other car from this class looks as menacing as an M3. However having driven both an M3 (competition pack) and M4 there is something missing.. I would argue that the Audi RS3 (which I chose to order) is overall a better car to drive. Being realistic not many M4 owners are going to risk drifting this £60k car on public roads. I just find the proposition of an M4, other than how it looks, confusing.
Ummm, is it the name or the car that confuses you? Most e9* M3's were coupes so if this had an M3 badge on the back as per the previous gen would you still be confused? If you want a car that does the work for you then sure buy 4wd, if you enjoy a car that needs driver input to control the fantastic power delivery... buy the beautiful M4 cp lci.

and the carbon ceramic breaks are another big chunk on top of that. Additionally, the alcontara steering wheel is I think, around £1000.
This truly sounds disappointing coming from an e92 m3.
F82 for speed.
E92 for driving experience.

It's because last gen. high reving V8 sounded too good, and unfortunately M4s engine just can't live up to that. It's still a great car though.
The new C63 also doesn't sound as good as its previous gen C63, but no one complains. I personally think the M4 sounds great.
