King of what? It gets beaten by almost literally everything else in its class.
everything else? go watch how awful the new RS5 is. go watch the problems with the Guilia , literally stops while driving. c63s is good, lovely engine n sound , but its 300kgs heavier and steering is numb. to answer your question M4 is king on track and a great everyday as well.

You clearly don't understand what "get beaten" means. The Giulia easily outperforms the M4 REGARDLESS of whatever problems you think it has, This is an established fact and it's not up for debate.
The C63s is also faster than the M4, and the Cadillac ATS-V beats the M4 every time they're put head to head against each other.

Except it isn't, as proven by recorded lap times, and it's not as good "everyday" as most of the other cars in its class either.

Crazy money when you look at what you get over the Competition. Good car no doubt, but honestly I think this just highlights how disappointing the stock M4 is. The stock M4 should be a much better car...
Josh Charlie yea they made so many different versions of the m4 and m3 lol proves that the regular one isn't that good , im a huge bmw fan, my favourite brand i have an x6m but the m3 n m4 are disappointing
When the m4 came out nobody bitched a dam thing about it. Now these "experts" saying o the original was crap comp is soooo much better. The avg m4 owmer wont track it and wont push it to its limit even if they do track it. That accounts for like 1% of buyers that actually will try and do that. The car is id say a lil dissapointing with steering feel(avg person wontnotice it) and the sound is prr crappy.

My 2015 M4 cost me around 54,336 (in British Pound Currency) with 425HP, so to me is way too much the difference between the two. I rather step-up mine to about the same 454HP, which will require less money in doing so. If I had that kind of money to spend it on a car, I would probably get something way much better than an M4 CS...
The peak power bump is a small part of the whole package. It was a package that really cured all of the short comings of the standard car. I do agree that in a better world with time to properly engineer and develops the car it should have be closer to this from the gate than the version that was offered.

Very good review. Good to see a car that does what it says on the tin: Clubsport, slightly compromised every day, fantastic B road blaster and far better on the odd track day.

The M4 should have been as good as the CS is to begin with. How much better could this $90k CS be than the M4? well that just says how much BMW slacked off to begin with.

Here in the states the price difference between an m4 and a comp pack one is so small you'd be a moron to buy a normal m4. I've seen more comp pack m4s going for less than the normal m4 because of the ridiculous options. Really surprised they didn't discontinue the normal model

I don't really get it, the competition pack is only £3K more than a standard M4, but the CS is £30K extra?
Anyway, who cares as i pick up my CP in two weeks. I bet BMW don't sell many standard M4's these days as the CP is noticeably faster, better handling and more comfortable

I have a 2019 cp and traded in my rs5. Great in dry but rs5 so much better in all other conditions. Would I revert to rs5, no way, m4cp so much more fun even if it can be a bit lazry!

Andrew Smith EVO is primarily a magazine (from Dennis Publishing). The UA-cam channel is just a bit on the side. Drivetribe is not a replacement for EVO.
Evo is dead and I am very sad about that.
When Bovington and Catchpole went to Drivetribe that basically left one main video presenter: Dickie Meaden. So the drop in their output is pretty understandable.

Dan you started the video asking whether this is the best M4 for the money and ended with this is the M4 to buy....but you left out if it was a better bargain than the M4 competition.....so what's your verdict on that?

Always cool to have a special edition M car but in that case... i think its better to get standard M4 and then tune it with Hamann or G-power. Correct me if im wrong but... if bonnet is CF you cant bend it like that right? Look like aluminium to.me... t

Not worth it. Get a comp pack M4 add the MPE and the MPHAS or any exhaust and suspension set up of your choice and you've got a more practical and equally as compliant M4 for 30k less!
Ecu flash, set of OHlins and get it set up properly. Amazing.
Strengthoftenmen it's true, bmw seem to have far too many cars in their line-up now. this cs is just another in-house tune up. which like you said, you can probably do for alot cheaper with aftermarket parts which do as good of a job?
Modding will only add loss of value and this CS will always be worth more on the market, especially over a modded car no matter the parts.
Alex Martinez that’s not necessarily true. As long as you keep the mods tasteful and with only OEM parts, should keep value the same or increase a little (if you’re selling to another enthusiast). I bought a 2016 M3 Comp and changed the 666M wheels on it to the lighter weight 763M wheels you get on these CS’s. One guy even came up to me in a parking lot thinking mine was a CS for a second lmao.
The CS is a Frankenstein, made of other bits from the other cars in the same line

Think I'd rather buy a standard m4 competition package and then buy the new rs focus for the wet days keep the m4 for dey miles and the all wheel drive on the focus be handy on wet roads

It gives me the feeling that the styling changes are actually stolen from a Guilia QV. Carbon fromt splitter, wheels very similar design (they are bbs fi-r derivative) and the rear spolier. Anyone see those similarities?

Even though the cs is cool, I'd never get one over a competition package regular M4. I'm not spending that much money to get string for door handles
It should be compared to the competition pack not the base car, at which point you'd realise it's a lot more money for 10bhp/34lbft/35kg saving.
35 kg lighter than a standard M4? In a R&T article, Jason Camissa noted that it was only about 9 kg lighter.
Not worth it for me im just going to lose 35kg in weight and get a re map on a normal m4 job done
Abdul Khan, I owned a 2015 M4 and just upgraded to an M3 CS, and it feels like a completely different car. It's not just 35 kg and a few more hp.
Lars Tofastrud BINGO! People really believe the only measure of a car is peak HP when it is not nearly the most important. The CS is a different car and resale will always show this as these cars will hold value well compared to the standard. It is crappy considering the M4 is an expensive car stock and there should be no poop versions of an M car offered. M should be the top and the more developed cars later on should just become the EVO versions offered in the place of the standard, NOT along side. Just my opinion though.
For the price I'd want to actually choose the kind of gearbox I get.

Used M3 for 45k, Stage 1/2 remap. Exhaust and some aero and it'll be just as good.
RelaxB go further. Used e92 330 for $15k, and the rest on go fast bits. Even further still, used e36 M3 for $7k and have gobs leftover. See the issue?
Nobody can ever get tired of beating that "it doesn't sound like an E92 V8" dead horse.
Nor should they. The S65 was epic.
