I used to think my hard flips were clean and high..however now with UA-cam I notice it was a pressure flip....time to practice this and get it right...btw great channel and thanks to your hacks I was able to land a 360 flip after couple of days of practice after being out of skateboarding for over 12 years....
Dudeeeee. I watched this video yesterday while it was raining out and couldnt wait til today to come out and do this trick. I'm an intermediate to advanced skater and this trick was always a weird one. I never thought to pull my front leg back then flick. Now I can do hardflips and I'm consistent with them. I always had a semi flip flick to mine. Thanks for the tip! I'm also not great at nosemanuals so I'm going to go find some flatter ground and try balancing to the side as well.
Veynuh nice bro I landed em once and can never get it again it irritates me because most of my friends learn tricks then the next week they can do it down sets while I’m here struggling to not lose the trick
I keep no-complying them. Then, when I finally commit, I doesn't flip the same way. It almost seems like I need to learn how to over-rotate the flip in the no-comply version to compensate for the under rotation of the ollie version.
I used to have the same problem you have to learn to flip the hardflip a lot faster so it can flip completly before your back foot is back on the ground. to flip faster you have to put a lot more effort in the pop and the flick.
Very nice hardflips you have indeed! (y) Just wanna add to all the niceness in the video - what I feel/see in this trick, maybe helps someone out :) For me the focus is on the back foot, the front one just kinda does what's needed automatically. I think of shifting my weight a bit towards my backside or over the heels so I could scoop really hard down and forward (towards my toes). The hardest part is to force the legs to tuck under the chin and let the board spin until it slaps you on the soles of the feet :) This trick needs a lot more strength than you'd think at first. Also a lot of people say it's easier the closer together the feet are. I'm gonna give this method a try for sure, seems a lot more effortless than what i'm doing :P Keep it up!
Crazy to me that you said it’s all in the front foot, back in the day when I had hard flips on lock, I felt like it was all in the back foot mostly. I got back into skating couple months ago & I’m trying to relearn them now. Yours looks way nicer than mine ever did too. Definitely gonna give this way a try. Also always but my top foot closer to the edge & a little bit lower than the middle of the board(also back then we were skating insanely small boards, a 7.75 was crazy big)
you gotta tuck your knees on this trick ! I just learned these recently what helped me is you gotta imagine jumping vertically over the board. Look at his knees kickflip vs hardflip (4:05)
I had figured it was impossible for me to learn hardflips until someone told me to set up my back foot like a tre flip. It feels wonky at first because you really have to let the board go vertical between your legs, but I learned it that way in a few days. It creates more tension for the flicking foot to work with.
@@jdawgkumar7412 try catching it with your front foot first then add your back foot it’s gonna be weird but it’ll get to a point where they both naturally catch it
I've always had a hard time with this trick.this video really helped! I finally landed one,it wasnt smooth but I still landed one.the flick really helped on this trick.
You can’t snap boards by flatground tricks unless you weight a bit much and if you did weigh a lot I doubt you’d be attempting a hard flip you cap ass nigga 😂
Hey, what's going on with the shoulders/pelvis rotation wise ? People doing (good) hardflips seem to have their shoulders locked in their stance... however you catch it around 90 degrees - that's the thing I don't get with hardflips : when I watch a guy like B.Herman there's a motion I don't understand :s can you help ? Thanks anyway, always helping man ;) keep it up !
Good observation. I think the secret to this trick for me is riding almost turned BACKSIDE slightly like you're riding switch. There's a reason so many people do them effortlessly switch. Or like you said you can also slightly jerk backside as soon as you pop. For whatever reason this helps with the rotation of the board. it's also the opposite direction of how you'd think you would turn your shoulders/pelvis (frontside).
I Really Love Your Skate Trick Tips. To Me, You make it Simple. I Like How You Normally break each Trick Down Into different Segments, kinda like You we're Saying "Mullen" Breaks His Tricks down. I start trying them randomly and they came pretty fast..I found that pushing the board out in front of you and flicking out in the position of a frontside flip it just works and they’re actually poppy vertical hard flips
It has a lot to do with your back foot. Your back foot pushes and scoops the board forward. If you were to kick it much with your front foot, then you would not get the vertical board flip that you get.
Landed 2 fakie hardflips today after 11 months of skating... the secret for me is learning fakie frontside flips, then when doing the fakie hardflip, do a frontside flip but halfway through you move your body to the right a little. Im regular btw
dude i probably did 1000 hardflip attempts today. i can get the formation every time and it’s sooo steezy but i just cant get my back foot on. ive tried completely sucking my knees up all the way and jumping super high but no matter what i do its like my back foot just lands out in front of me every time. i have no idea what im doing wrong
"its a very uncomfortable feeling" lol you can say that again its especially uncomfortable when the board stays in that rocket position and you land with a board to your taint or balls
This guy has style even demo kickflip was fat . I had heard 'ard flips were pase , I think they look great , the way you have to split legs to accommodate vertical board ?
I think the back foot scoop.. the way you do it might be the most important part of the trick. Your front foot is really just getting out of the way. You can even see it with your foot on the top view, i dont think it’s actually doing anything... it might feel like it, I’m not sure it is. Could be wrong just throwing it out there.
yeah i never understood this shit i can do like every other trick but no fs flips or hardlfips i can hardflip on flat but i do it with almost just my front toe on the board so i cant do them goin fast

Your hardflips are so nice. Some people try to keep them flat... I’ve always thought they look waayyyyy better vertical.
Peace.
aint no risk when it is horizontal, vertical is just a cheap vasectomy
@@kaderiddle3492 lmao you're right, one mistake and you lose your pair of giblets

I can rotate them because of the experience from frontside flips but they feel awkward to try landing just normally
