I have a good friend who was until recently, flying from Bristol for Easy Jet and he has told me many tales of the 'interesting' weather that hits Bristol Airport. They make it look easy (NO PUN INTENDED!) but huge skill involved. (It would be fun to stand by the exit from the runway with score cards like Strictly!)
At 2:04 that was a great recovery from what could have been some serious paperwork. A classic example of windsheer or rotor. Some excellent camera work. Well done to everyone involved.

Had some wild roller coaster style landings at Bristol over the years, last one was at midnight during a winter storm. The airport is situated on the top of a hill which doesn't help. I try to avoid it these days and use Birmingham instead if I have to fly.

Great video what focal length lens do you have? I’ve just ordered a camera with an 18-55mm lens and wondering if it will be suitable for aviation video/photography?
Thankyou! 😆 I have a Sony RX10-IV and it has an fixed lens which is apparently equivalent to 24-600mm. I can't say I'm that clued up with lenses but I think you might need something a little bigger than that for some spotting locations. Not sure though! Thanks for watching 👌☺️
If I'm not mistaken, I saw the citation in real life at the Madrid-Cuatro Vientos airport days prior, the oldest airport on the Iberian Peninsula but one that barely operates on a slightly windy day, let alone during a storm like Storm Barra.
Just watched the whole thing, some amazing catches there mate. Loved the RYR go-around. Some of the Easyjet ones had me on the edge of my seat. I find it a little sad to see so many of the EZY fleet there at BRS yet in other parts of the UK they have almost disappeared, such as here at NCL with their base, and even at LTN where 5 were parked up in storage. Hopefully, they recover. Excellent footage mate, liked ✈
