Hey Eric, would love to see drone video of up close shots from the top of the silo build. Thanks for providing great clean content that I can recommend to my grandchildren.
I'm a retired farmer. I remember when we built our silo, I was about 12 years old. To get the concrete up the silo; I had to run a tractor attached to a cable and the concrete bucket. I had to run the tractor forward and backwards to get the bucket up and down the silo. Now, with the electric winch, it is 10X faster.
It appears the silo contractor is doing a good job of vibration /consolidation of the concrete as it is placed. They took the time to train their workers on the proper way to do it. This is one of the few videos that you hear the buzz of a vibrator on a UTube concrete construction video.
Love seeing a good ole cleaning! Maybe a good thorough cleaning of the manure scrappers would give them a longer life and run more efficient without breakdowns. Just some advice from an ole city boy from Raleigh, NC. Lots of farmers in my family going back to before civil war days. Worked on my Uncle’s tobacco and corn farms a few summers as a teenager. Hard, HOT work!!!
They are doing a fantastic job and yes: we do paintings on our silos such as old timers, flowers of the area and old machinery , people go in bus loads to see those silos. Greetings from Australia
Average age of a farmer in America is 60. In the next 15 yrs 50% of farms will change hands. Thank you for doing what you do. It is critical to inspire new farmers! Keep it up!
Poured silos were all the rage around here in 1980. I barely remember when they put the one up here on the farm. Looks like the same rig, except they mixed their own concrete.
i just wanna say i love you videos as i live in the city and wanna be a farmer. and this help me learn more and see it and a lot of. so keep up the great work man!
Thanks for the video. I probably missed it in a previous one but I was wondering what your plans are for the other silos at the farm? Keeping them around or taking down? Just curious. Thanks for sharing this with us.
when I seen the video of them puring the first layer I wondered why they needed the mini cart/truck going around pouring but now they get up higher it makes sense why it is needed
this is a first for me since i worked on a farm i have built plenty of silo's up but they were the metal one's . I have never seen a concret one THANK YOU Yeah you should put the 10th Generation Logo on the silo
Eric found your channel and joined. I have caught up on your videos and love it. Loved the filter pop. 😁 Thanks for sharing. Retired LEO from Ohio and learning so much. Keep it up we're watching. Nice job my friend. 👍🚜
This is a really fascinating series of videos! You do not see farmers erecting a new vertical silo. I had a momentary thought that those concrete mixer trucks look just like the ones from around the corner where I live in Bucks County! I live near one of the many locations of that concrete company.I do get a chuckle about the location near me, Delaware Valley Concrete (DVC) is next to Delaware Valley College (DVC), (now University) my alma mater.
You are funny! How do you do that to turn a pop can out of a skid loader and then drink it! I like that keep your humor up. Keep this channel pretty closely updated on them silos I'm very interested in your progress.
An amazing amount of work the concrete boys get done. I have to respect their tenacity and resilience. An awesome crew. Being a retired GC, I have high regards for those hard working men.
I’m 64 and raised on a farm. I’ve seen dozens of silos torn down but this is the first one going up.
Same here and about the same age.
The feeling you get when you realize you gotta climb that 132ft silo for the first time. I can't wait to see that.
I am sure there will be video... I will watch until he does his first view from the top... then I will not be able to watch...
Would be nice 2 put the 10th-generation logo on the new silos!!!!
Great idea
Love that idea.
Maybe they can do that beside the company logo!
Would definitely leave a mark for the future generations to see for sure
He has a logo? Memo to me, be more observant.
Great to see the ol’ pop can joke again!! Excited to see the silos go up.
you saw that, but the oil filter has an especial joke too.. ;)
OGs remember the original soda jokes, and we are happy to see them return.
3:52 is SO REAL for anyone who works in maintenance right now. Literally every part is like 4 times what it should be...
Especially when you ignore recommended usage intervals by the mfr for some of the filters being replaced!.
nice seeing the mountain dew again!

It still blows my mind that they build those silos with little buckets of concrete. Amazing.
BRO.... The mountain dew jokes always make me laugh. Now, I'm going to have to stop and get one. 😁😁😁😁
I wonder how many hours I have spent watching this man do maintenance work on his equipment lol... so relaxing
I forgot about the soda/milk routine. Love it haha

LOL, Great to see the Mountain Dew return! 🤣 IT's so cool to see a concrete silo go up like that. Thanks for showing us how it's done!
Like your sign above the window in the shop! Keep it up!
I love Jesus too! ❤✝️
you're going to have to put aircraft warning lights on top of silos !!
Good one on the Mountain Dew. It’s been a while.
I could watch an entire video of them pouring the silo amazing work for sure
Silo's looking good, coming right along! Wish you continued luck and success there. Have a great day!
I've changed a lot of oil in my life but never thought of changing the Mt Dew. Wish I had it would have been a lot more fun lol
7:00 You seem to be a serious person, but its good to know that you do have a sense of humor! 😀
It is great to see the silo rising up to the sky. The farm will look even more impressive. Thanks till next time.
Watched a video last year of the Amish hired to take down a stave silo, move it and put it back up.
This is amazing to watch. Thanks Eric.
Love seeing a good ole cleaning!

It's going to be interesting to see how they install the roof
Really interesting to see silo construction.
A guy could have missed the joke with the filters . Well played sir.
They are doing a fantastic job and yes: we do paintings on our silos such as old timers, flowers of the area and old machinery , people go in bus loads to see those silos. Greetings from Australia
Would love to see how they move the forms to the next level as they build the silo. Impressive how it is done

Thank you for doing what you do. It is critical to inspire new farmers! Keep it up!
Mountain dew filters are probably ALOT cheaper than genuine kubota. silo is going to be massive!
Poured silos were all the rage around here in 1980. I barely remember when they put the one up here on the farm. Looks like the same rig, except they mixed their own concrete.
Lol love the random Mtn. Dew clips
At that height you’ll be a landmark in the country also you going to need red light on top for aircraft better check !
Haha! Haven’t seen the can trick in awhile! Good stuff man
Just amazing how they are building your Silo. I’m fascinated with construction.
Thanks for sharing!
Can't wait for spring!

Eric,
Looking good, alot accomplished in just a short of time. Blessings upon you and all you do.
I'm pretty sure you could post a video of paint drying and I'd be riveted. You have without a doubt the most interesting farming page on UA-cam!

Awesome video
Just curious where your shop is going and what are you doing with the bunker silos?
Love Eric's dry sense of humor! I do miss the hide and seek chocolate milk.
When you take care of your equipment, that helps it take care of you.
Great video Eric
I would be looking into a catwalk in iowa lots of farms have them climb once service all the bins or silos then climb down
Another Great Video 👍 Great content, keep up the great work!
Maintenance is key to longevity.
La bevanda mancava da un pò di video😂😂 saluti dall'italia.❤
AAHHhhhh... The return of Mountain Dew!! It's been a while.😁
Pretty handy when the Kubota makes you a can of Mountain Due
😊
Hello Eric, A lot of progress being made, looking good. Wish you well.
Wow, changing the skyline of Weaverland!
Mmmmm those fresh Kubota Dews are the best!
nice mt dew can find, hadn't had one of those in a while :D
Oh man, it’s been quite awhile since we’ve found an ice cold soda pop somewhere. Glad to see that bit has made a return!

Great videos! Could you get wix filters instaed?
I wonder where you got the Mountain Dew dispenser option!?! I could use one of those.
Happy to see the Mtn Dews are growing nicely in strange places again 😆
Great video once again. Can you explain the reasoning behind choosing top unloading silos over the sealed ones?
Price
always important to change the Dew filter!
have you ever given any thought to your farm being a playable map in Farming Simulator?
I want a FS map of is farm
