Congratulations on your lovely home. My favorite is the mud room and shower, laundry area before you enter the main living area, it makes sense for every farmer's home. I am always impressed by all the jobs successful farmers jump right in and accompish; welding, plumbing, electrical, veterinary, mechanical. I love watching how you and your dad meet all the challenges.
The new place looks wonderful. Lots of planning has made it very functional. Your choices for the decor are really nice. You’ll spend many years enjoying life in that house!
Eric, thanks for sharing the house! It is wonderful! When I was a kid and we moved into a new home with an unfinished basement, my dad put up a couple of swings from the floor joist for us girls to swing on. We got to swing all winter long and spent lots of time down there. We also got to roller skate (the kind with the key to attach to your shoes) which was great fun too! As we grew up and dad finished the basement, he added a shuffleboard. That was family fun! In high school dad bought a pool table which he had to remove some blocks around a window and slide the bed in very carefully. Of course he fixed the hole so you never knew. Bet it is still there today! Mom had dad make a 'guest room/sewing room' which came in handy. So you have great potential for the basement and take lots of time to find what the kids like and could take advantage of for winter entertainment! Congratulations!

Very nice! That R.O. system piped to the bathrooms is a great idea. When you first were tearing the old place down I was sad (My own house was built in 1925), but seeing the condition it was in, a new house was the best solution. The mantle is a great homage to the old house. Also, Happy Father's Day!

When you have built such a fantastic home for your family it makes all the hard work so worthwhile. All those long hours during the year turned into a little bit of heaven. Well done Eric, and all of your family. Whens the house warming!?
Nice well thought out home that should meet your families needs for generations to come. Every farmhouse, especially when you're dealing with cattle, needs a separate and large mudroom for boots and coveralls and such so well done. The laundry room with large sink right off the mud room is nice as well, every laundry room needs a large sink, but if I was still farming and ranching I would have a separate washer and dryer for farm clothes, and I would have a shower room before entering into the main part of the house. I would have made the pantry at least 5X larger as well, even to the point of downsizing the kitchen, so you could store all those occasionally used appliances on large open shelves rather than have them cluttering countertops or stuffed away in cabinets. You need at least 2X-3X more cabinet storage space to store the same volume of items that you can store on large open shelves plus you can see what you have without having to play the guessing game as to what's behind door number one.
Congrats, the house looks great! I’m glad to see you guys were able to get a lot of nice upgrades in the house: awesome master shower, 26x26 garage is genius, kitchen looks great, and I’m jealous that you have a basement!

I absolutely love the open floor plan. It has a very cozy, yet spacious feel to it. Reverse osmosis water is awesome! My family had a different brand, and the tank was kept under the kitchen sink, we had the same exact spout for it as you do though. Pretty much the cleanest water you can get. No chorine, no fluoride, etc. Love the new house. You and Emily did a wonderful job designing it. Your family deserves this house! Bless you and your family! 🙏🙏🙏🙏 Edit to add: that shower is AWESOME! So much space! My shower is literally the size of a phone booth, maybe even a lil smaller.

Thankyou for the house tour Eric. Mud room is the most important room in a farmhouse. Nice to step insde and strip off the farm gear with space to hang and store. Somewhere to dry the wet weather gear and the damp / wet gumboots and boots. A separate washer (large top loader) for washing the farm gear separately is always handy ...an addition for the future along with a cupboard with ducted heat blowing through for the boots and raingear. I hate sticking soggy wet raingear back on and slipping dry socked feet into wet boots

Good Dad joke. House is great. I lived in an old house like yours. The original part was old logs. Heating and cooling was a nightmare. All the additions had little to no insulation. Dusty doesn't even begin to describe it. Lol! Enjoy your new home. Love that pantry!!
