Pete, my name is Cody and I’m from Pennsylvania. I cannot tell you how much your videos mean to me. I am now 35 and I can speak to your message. You ask where the older wise men are? You have become one and we are all sitting down and taking time out of our day just to hear your calming voice amongst the loud crazy noise that is the world now. You and I would most likely never have met if it weren’t for UA-cam. You take me back to the best times in my life with my uncle and grandfather where it didn’t matter to me what they were talking about teaching or telling a story. I was there in the moment idolizing how powerful they were. You are a powerful soul and you know your true message. It wouldn’t matter if you were giving the animals their own house on the property and $10,000 to each viewer, there would be someone angry. We love you Pete and we love your soul. Whichever way you want to take the story I’ll be here to take time and listen. Thank you for all you do! You are what this world needs.

    Pete - I’ve been a viewer/subscriber for over 2.5 years; haven’t missed a video.
Do I watch to really learn how to fix a tractor? No. Will I ever run or maintain a small farm? Probably not. I watch to learn and grow as a person through your wisdom.
I apply so many virtues in my life that I learned from you: patience, resilience, adaptability, problem solving. The list goes on and on.
You have given me concrete ways to make my life better and you do it through farming. I now am aware of the seasonal changes, cycles, and rhythms that occur in myself and adjust my lifestyle accordingly. As a current stay-at-home father of 4 who used to be a teacher, I always relate when you speak of your previous architect lifestyle.
I’m saying all of this because, yes, I understand you aren’t in it for “entertainment” and to me, this is entertaining, but it’s so much more than that.
You speak of wondering where those beacons went in our society that you looked up to when you were young. Well, that’s your role at least to me. And it’s so incredibly valuable.

    • @johnmarlow2887
      @johnmarlow2887 3 місяці тому +8

Those old beacons have gone...... You are now 'an old beacon' to those young clowns. Don't disappear, just quietly live out your life; allowing others to see it. That will be a wonderful testimony to the young. Eventually they will learn (as we had to learn) that activity requires thought for it to become meaningful.

I did so without so much a s a clue as to how to do it. Watching your videos has been both educational as well as inspirational for me. Your gentle demeanor and exuberance for farm life has been a God Send to me. Sounds like you and I did the same thing. I am also a retired police officer. My grandfather use to have a farm that I was to get when I got out of the Marine Corps. However, he got injured by one of his steers, and ended up selling the farm while I was overseas. I left the police department after 31 years, and did the same thing, got back in to farming. Its amazing how much different the world is away from the violence and troubles we dealt with on a daily basis. I am much happier now, and enjoying being back on the farm. I agree with your comment, Pete is a good example and has a good attitude for this field. I hope he keeps the videos going, I too enjoy the content he produces.

Pete, I served in the Army for 22 years and another 22 years as a University Administrator. Been retired almost 12 years now. One of my big life’s lessons is the you should always do your best, but know that you will help so many people but there will be some who won’t or can’t be helped. You are one of those guys who have helped so many and continue to do so through your channel. I grew up on a farm and was in FFA. I wish I was as half proficient as you in your farming practices. You amaze me and I never tire of your farm coverage on your channel. You and Hillary are super people, please don’t let the folks who really don’t understand farm life get you down. Hello Pete and Hillary. My name is Pat and my husband and I (I am 81 and he is 83) have been watching your channel for years now. Reading back through many of the comments to this video is like listening to a large and wonderful family. A family of all ages and situations in life. Think how remarkable it is that you have brought all of us together. Have helped all of us realize that We Are Not Alone. There is indeed a large and healthy tribe of us out here, all over the world. Our very deeply felt thanks for each of your videos. They remind us, show us that base of life. The rhythms of the seasons and of the lives of the animals are still here in the real world. So, even as the evening news and online news shouts of doom, despair, and destruction, your videos bring us back to the Real base of life. As so many others in the comments have said, your videos bring us back to the calm, quiet, "we can get it done" that is real life.
Your must walk the path that is best for you. We hope that it will include continuing your videos on this channel. But which ever way you decide to go, we are very grateful to both of your for sharing what you do and who you are with us. Chuckle, we even enjoy your. . . groan. . jokes. They always get a laugh. We love the farm life, daily chores, arrival of the spring critters, harvest time (of hay and animals) and quiet times. My husband grew up on a farm where there were beef cattle, row crops and hunting, fishing and trapping, which was usual for most who lived in that time and place. I grew up in the country, but not on a farm. Just a large garden, some chicken, ducks, cats, dogs and a dearly loved horse. And yes, it is important for people to be reminded that not every animal is a pet. We are omnivores. Knowing that there are people who rise food animals in a kind and respectful way is important. How much kinder for each of those animals to be raised as you and Hillary raise them.
So, we thoroughly enjoy the tractor rebuilds (my husband is also very good with machines), the farming, the thoughts on life, the great video angles . . . and sharing your lives with us. Thank you so much. God Bless.

Hi Pete just wanted to let you know that I have really liked your videos and wisdom. I'm 67 years old my wife and I moved from Southern California to Mt Airy NC 3 years ago. We bought an 1895 farm house on 6 acres. We have been fixing it up a little at a time. It had a lot of old trees that had to be removed ,it was quite expensive. We decided to get some chickens and ducks. They are wonderful to many eggs for us . We have 5 chickens and 2 ducks. Thinking of get 2 pigs, but watching your videos maybe not. Trying to figure out life is not easy but if you have someone to share it with when you can't figure it out let her tell you. We been married 42 years and she always has a honey do list I love it. We live on social security so we do projects when we can afford it. It is the journey that keeps us going.

Those quiet souls that dripped wisdom with every word. We often wish that we had another moment with those folks. Your videos serve to fill that gap. You are that quiet uncle , that beloved grandfather, the quiet old guy at the feed store that offered advice on baling or planting. Some coworkers and I were talking the other day about how lucky we were to grow up rurally in the 80’s and 90’s, and kick off our careers in Ag in the 90’s when it was really good. The 80’s were hard, but made people tough and appreciative of what they had.
Now people don’t understand how wealthy they are (no AC or dishwasher in our house until the 90’s, for example). Thus they are spoiled and crazy. Plus, Ag lost it’s nice place to be feeling, becoming business filled with spoiled brats who inherited a farm.
You are a moment of relaxation for all. Your hay making videos calm me. Your tractor restorations inspire me, and I just restored an old Ertl tractor because your video made me itch for new red paint.
You provide a great service to us all. Ignore the haters. We love your videos!!

G'day Pete, I'm a 69 year old Aussie, born and raised in a rural/country world. Your chat today had me thinking of many things and as I listened, one thing came to mind. When I was studying art as a teenager I learnt a quote, which I'll attribute to the architect Le Courbsier, 'Form should follow function'. I look at your farm, the way you do things, I listen to your ponderings, the will I, won't I's and each time you eventually arrive at a decision. The function precedes the form! Reading through the comments demonstrates a beautiful 'Form'. The musings of we older folk are important to the young and I believe we have a responsibility to at least try and share them. Your young followers show that. Thus I believe your channel will evolve into the 'form' that is just right. We Aussies have a saying, 'She'll be right mate"

Sharing your experience and perspective benefits those with respect for others. I would like to see you continue educating anyone willing to learn from you. Pete, We have met at the Red show. You are doing a huge service to the Nation as well as the World. Teaching people about farming and that food does not grow in the back of Walmart is important. The disconnect between our food and how it is farmed and raised is huge. Avocado toast does not come from your local farmers market and farming is not evil. I cannot tell you how much my wife and I appreciate your show and how much you are helping younger people become connected to farming. I wonder how many Americans you have influenced to question where their food comes from. I know for myself and family you have helped my kids come to better understanding. I grew up on a farm my children did not. My stories does not phase them your seem to strike a better cord. They are all out of the house but we on occasion watch together. We now buy direct from a farmer most of our beef. I purchase it and they take quarters while we keep a half. We buy 1 and a 1/2 beefs directly from a farmer we know. You have helped enforce the importance of knowing where your food comes from. You are not just a farming channel you are an education channel and you are doing a wonderful job. My family loves you and yours. Endeavor to Persevere.

When I'm home this summer in Ithaca, I hope I'll catch you at the Farmers' Market and say thank you in person for making me laugh, think, and most importantly for bringing back memories of my years on the farm.

Hi Pete I’m in my 30’s and from the UK. I first came across your channel last year and enjoy watching all your videos, whether it be about the animals, daily life on the farm or tractor restoration. I don’t come from a farming background but I appreciate how hard you all work and believe that people don’t respect the hard working individuals anymore. Without respect for each other we have nothing. My boys are 8 and 5 years old and I tell them every day that respect is so important. I enjoy your channel so much because you are genuine and speak the truth, which is rare these days. Your channel is so important and it would be a shame to see it go. Hope you are keeping well and the family are all well

I’m 70. I just started a little farmette for my own enjoyment. I also still work full time. I’m always dreaming. I’m not as agile, but my mind is! You are 55. You still will have grandchildren to inspire and I think even though you feel it’s boring to watch, you do all of us a great service to remind us that routines are beautiful. They give us chances to relax and find peace within them…especially when you are meeting goals and enjoying those moments..you are inspiring! Ps. I love the videos where you and Hillary do little dramas for us!

Hi Pete, I want to say that I love listening to you talk through your thought process around what you will do next etc. I am 63, retired, and caring for my 89 year old father…while I sit in his house, waiting to be useful, I find myself working hard at being present in the moment, learning to appreciate the gift of time spent with the person who gave me life. This is my classroom and the lessons reveal all I need to learn to move forward in this life without him. Hugs to you, and Hilary as you navigate your path. ❤

We, our culture that is so crazy in so many ways, NEEDS the gifts you present. Your calm, kindly, deep demeanor, your commitment to wholeness and sanity, is so needed. And appreciated. Not that you have Answers, which really are different for each of us. I'm a retired older lady in a completely different part of the country, a city person. Yet I treasure your videos. We hold deep values in common, that we, by living them, stabilize in our world. Offering desperately needed alternatives to folks who are looking. I've no idea what you should do, yet I know that what ever you choose, you will continue to provide that. SO grateful for your work. Drive from within this, don't let the crazies drive you. Blessings.

Pete, I have watched your channel for quite a while. You are a breath of fresh air, no politics, no drama although Patty is your drama cow :-). What I like about your channel is the seeing cycle of life on a farm. Spring, summer, fall and winter. We have lost sight of the seasons as we get up and drive to work 52 weeks a year. No change for change in the seasons. We have lost touch with nature. You are funny and philosophical. Living in Indiana, its pretty easy to drive 10 or 15 minutes and find yourself out in the country. I know farmers, and know its hard work, but I must admit I romanticize it a bit. Although I will never rebuild a tractor, I watch because you are a good teacher, patient and detailed explaining what you are doing. You are also an entrepreneur and have discussed in detail how you began farming, and ongoing plans to continue operations. This is excellent information too. Love seeing Hilary work along side you, and even grilling your home grown beef and pork for dinner. I know winter is a slower time, but I hope you will share your farm life for many seasons!

Hi Pete you are hitting the nail on the head with your observation. Most of your viewers are here to enjoy your content of a small farm in operation. We get to think back to when we all had some kind of small farm, garden, chickens. We produced most of the food for your family on the farm and sold the extra for some money to put back into things to keep the farm running. When I watch your videos I see the things that I enjoyed about the farm and I see the extra work you do just to put the videos out there, camera rolling and all the different angles. Hater’s will always hate. What ever you decide to do I wish you all the best. As for me your videos are very enjoyable and something to look forward to.
    Have a great day!

Do what makes you happy and provides a purpose! I'm 61 y/o and a white collar CEO. We bought a 34 acre farmstead in 2022 and raise Dexters and Idaho Pasture pigs. We wanted to give back after the COVID scare and the federal govt attempts to take over the food supply. We do this at our ripe age to supply family farm quality food to the community. Man oh man have I learned so much from your channel. We are the quiet logical thinking folks now and we/you are needed, even if not on UA-cam, in our community and family. Finishing Strong is a new testament biblical truth that should motivate the good ones to keep pushing and refuse to back off and slow down. There is still a race to be run. You provide positive knowledge and a place where many of us find solace watching and listening to your God given gift using social media for good! Find motivation and peace in whatever your journey leads. Your a good man with a good family and it shines through in every single video, no matter the topic of the day!

I understand your thoughts on the changes in people these days. You are now 55, I am almost 75. Take time (now) to embrace just 'being' together, doing something/ or nothing, because you guys ARE meaningful to US. God Bless

Instead of turning inward, as you seem to be doing, I’ve now looked outward, to helping others. Like you, I’ve also needed a challenge goal throughout my life. Firstly, gaining financial independence. Then raising a family, then setting “wish” goals (traveling, writing etc). Dreamed this, done that. Now I’m where you’re at. But I don’t look at MY life anymore, I’ve reached out to the community, and boy, is that where someone like you and me are needed. Our drive to keep a challenge in front of us is certainly there in supplying the needs of others. I have found GREAT satisfaction, exciting work, and a renewed interest in everything I do, and I’m in my 70s. You might try going in that direction. I know you wouldn’t regret it for a second.

The problem is that in the duality, creators generally only hear the loud mouths instead of those that genuinely enjoy the content as it appears. Creators want more and more and more. That is natural of course to want more in terms of success. In the process they abandoned the principles, content, and audience that got them to where they are today. Do as you want, what makes you happy. Don’t appease to the loud mouths or outcasts. When the laptop is closed or the PC is shut down for the day, it’s just you and your farm. The only thing that really matters in the end.

Pete, I grew up on a small farm. We raised hogs and cattle. As you pointed out there is a large disconnect and that is unfortunate. Our society is far too critical of everything. I disagree on one point you made. It isn't society that has become critical. It is several generations of over placated entitled spoiled BRATS that far too many good but cowardly parents allowed to grow to undisciplined adults. That is where the criticism comes from. And they are wrecking the world.

I am heading to 55, it won't be long now, my wife and I have bought a 5-acre field (mainly for her horses) but it is our piece of heaven. Somewhere to go and unwind, work, grow vegetables etc. Not everybody has this opportunity and I think channels like yours give people a chance to experience a little bit of that. Also, you are like an older relative/friend who imparts knowledge and wisdom. I grew up helping out on my uncle's farm and he taught me so much and again I think most people do not get this sort of experience. At the end of the day you need to do what makes you happy and fulfilled and if it is something that you can film and bring to the masses then great, if not we will miss you and your videos but at the end of the day we respect you and what you want to do. You have added a great resource that people can watch over and over again and learn much from, you should be really proud of that. Take care and look after yourself Pete and your family. Pete, your correct about the divide and difference between our age group and older (I am 56) and the younger generation. This is why I believe your channel and other YT channels that show how farming works and explain the food chain to this generation are so important. Where else will they learn it, in school? I think not. You don't know what you don't know and it's up the us to keep educating, even when it gets rough. I appreciate you and the channel, keep up the good work.

Hi Pete I am 80 years old here in eastern Ontario. 72F yesterday afternoon and just 12F this morning with a strong gusty wind. I enjoy your videos. They brighten my life with every new one. You are right to reflect what you should be doing in the future. But remember that it will not be and should not be what happened in the past. You mentioned that you are goal orientated. So set some goals, but don't be disappointed if some are never reached. You enjoy farming, restoring tractors, going to auctions, personal contact at market, making videos to teach us about the small farm life, cross-stitch, clock repairs, cooking and many other things. Don't try to change what makes you happy. Pay attention to your health, and Hilliary's too. Ignore detrimental comments and don't worry if some of the viewers disappear - so what. At your age it is most important to look after your family, maintain social contact, eat properly, exercise and stay busy mentally. Selfishly I hope you continue making videos - they are instructive and enjoyable just as they are. However, they should not run your life.

Aussie here 69, was just the last week or so thinking of the same ponderings. I look at the world today and shake my head, thank goodness we don't have a television or get the news paper, we get all the "world" news we can deal with from the internet. Like you I'm a builder, a solver of problems, I put round pegs in square holes, pretty much as I suspect you do.
We come from a different time. I make myself available to those whom need a hand, and once again shake my head at those who know better.
You know we are on the down hill now, so treat it like a ride in the country and enjoy looking at the scenery, help those who want it, and live as long as you can, Just to annoy the others.
Stay healthy, you two and stay happy. Happy is what it's all about.

Hi Pete, I’m knew to your site and just watched my first video. I’m 73 years young and fill just what you have said. I was raised in a family with four brother and three sister. Both our parents came from a large family. We did not have a farm but did have enough land to raise chickens, hogs and a garden. I did a career in the Marine Corps and can tell you this once you leave home it’s not the same place to return to many years later. For me this was true, I left a small town in southern West Virginia that had anything a person would need. We had three grocery stores, hardware, furniture, clothing, shoe, post office, two banks, many churches, movie theater, grade, junior and high schools, bus and train station. Now we have a dollar store, grade school, bank, post office and church. The young do not stay because there’s very little work to be found and the coal mines are mostly all that is left, and those that work there have to work six days a week with little time spent with there families. I retired after my last job when I was 71, moved back home only to stay two and a half years. I wish I could turn back time it was so much better living were I was raised in the 50’s and 60’s. Pete, I will be watching more of your video and catch up on the once I have missed. Have a great day!

Hello pete, im a retired police officer here in atlantic canada. I had a hobby farm which consisted of a half dozen head of angus, chickens and a few pigs. I ha e been out of the hobby now for a couple of year except for a few laying hens. I have to say that i miss it alot, to the point that im thinking of getting back into the hobby. I throughly enjoyed it. I look forward to your upcoming videos no matter the content whither its tending to live stock or restoring an old tractor. I too enjoyed restoring old tractors during the winter months however, mine were green😅. I see alot of similarity in what we do except your on a larger scale. Bottom line is you have to enjoy what your doing to do this type of job. I believe you have a great work ethic and deep down enjoy it very much. Your care and consideration for your animals are second to none and the business part appears to be working for you. I believe you need to do what makes you truely happy. Dont worry about trying to please others on your channel, just do what makes you happy. I for one enjoy your videos very much and look forward to the next. This time of year is always hard but spring is around the corner. Pete - Jay here. Grew up where we raised our own beef, sweet corn and potatoes and had an acre and half vegetable garden. My Dad worked a full time job, and did that after work with us kids help. Both grandfathers were dairy farmers helped them too. I have spent a career moving around in the military. Your channel is a therapeutic escape for me. Can't thank you and family enough for showing us the best stuff in life. May God bless and protect you you.

Hey Peter my name is Matt From New Brunswick Canada. I grew up farming Beef, apples, pork, vegetables and always wanted to have my own farm. In 2011 that became a reality. We bought a small farm neighbouring the farm that I was helping out on. And that was all well and good. And THEN i found just a few acres farm channel, and since then i find my self thinking back about things you do and say and trying to emulate them for my own operation. Thanks for the guidance.

Pete, I feel sad this evening, because you’re sad. Just always know that your videos, that you so graciously share will all of us, give my wife and I immeasurable happiness, calm and peace. You have a gift of incredible kindness, thoughtfulness, mind blowing work ethic, smarts and sense of humor. Of all the channels that we watch, yours is the ONLY one that we watch every video, faithfully. Every one. Just know that you have touched the lives of others in a way that you might not totally realize. You are the best!

Hilary and Pete, long time viewer but first time commenter here 👋🏻. I understand the feeling of heaviness that comes along with being on a public platform; I can only imagine the toll it takes when everyone has to give their two cents on everything. However, you have no idea the impact of your channel on so many people. My toddler son and I look forward to every new video, regardless of the content, because of your calm and compassionate demeanor. My 2 year old son even loves telling his babysitter about his favorite animals (Patty and Ezra are his current picks) and even her family is now part of the Just a Few Acres fan club. Thank you for sharing your life with us and regardless of your next steps, we'll be faithful viewers.

Pete, I love watching every video that you put out and can't wait until the next one, I love your sarcasm, humor and intelligence. I grew up in the Midwest but now live in the dry southwest, your videos take me back to my younger years.
Us quiet ones have learned when to speak up, read Proverbs 12. It's a waste of time and energy to argue with fools, maybe the best thing for you to do would be to turn off comments, there is a channel that I follow that did this pretty early on to block out the noise and negativity, his videos get millions of views each time he puts one out. Maybe this could keep you better focused??

Pete, I love you, your family, and your channel. I watch every one of your videos you produce. I am a 53 yo female, not a farmer (secretly always wanted to be), I am not a mechanic, but I enjoy learning how things work. I watch you because of you. I like the exciting, the sad, the challenge, the perspective, and the yes the mundane. It is the honesty of living life. But, let me tell you something you do that you may not be aware of....I am mostly housebound. You allow me to experience and be a part of what my brain and soul seeks that my body may not allow me to do. During my viewing I am a farmer, a mechanic, a philosopher, I am getting my hands dirty, smelling the poop, laughing at animal antics and wondering why that animal just did what they did, and driving a tractor, I am hanging out with a friend. You are making a bright spot in my day. That is a purpose and a talent not just anyone can accomplish. You go in the direction you need to go, you true followers will be right here.

    Pete and Hillary,
Please BEE 🐝 encouraged! You have blessed our family, as well! Hubby is a 24 year retired Army veteran and I am the crazy woman who battled in prayer by his side when he was galavanting on the other side of the planet. 😉🙏 We own a bee farm just north of Leavenworth, Kansas now and it was your testimony about chickens, Sir, that turned us into a bee- chicken farm! But, your words do much MORE than teach. Your words and testimony inspire, encourage, provide humor, joy, a breath of fresh air and SO much more. We also go to a farmers market, we find our bodies getting older and our spirit protesting, see our kids ' fly the coop', watch our parents age and pass onto God's greener gardens, get discouraged from the sour grapes of competitive businesses and more. And Yet!! In the midst of our season of 'already and not yet' we find courage in the moment, peace of mind and hope in tomorrow through our faith. We are Christians and, as such, choose to outsource our strength, direction and purpose in Christ. So, all that to say, we will be praying for you and Hillary to bee 🐝 encouraged and at peace with whatever decisions you need to make. With all our heart, we want to earnestly Thank you for sharing your testimony. We are 🐝-lessed! ❤😊

    Pete and Hillary,
We absolutely love watching you year round. It’s amazing to watch your commitment to your farm and the animals you care for. It is awesome to see the laid back way that you both deal with no only the daily details as well as the things that go wrong.
We feel that everything you do is meaningful. Watching you rebuild your tractors is so enjoyable. You show us that if you keep learning then you can accomplish anything you set out to do. Our grandchildren love watching your farm with us.
Loving that you share your life with us. ❤
    Watching from Juneau, Alaska.

I also have a soft spot for International's because of my grandfather on the farm but do enjoy all the videos you put out even just the farm chore videos. It's the way you are on camera with your animals , family, your You Tube family. You give us peace in our day by letting us into yours! I can't forget the dad jokes too! We are here whatever you decide to do!

You don't need to worry about the future, it will take care of itself. We live in crazy times. Folks come to your channel to leave the world behind. We are with you and lovely Hillary every step of the way. I hear other UA-cam farmers say about the same as you. Please don't feel pressured to entertain us, a lot of us just love what you are doing so do whatever you must do. If you are tired of the struggle then take a break we will wait for you. I often think how lucky you are to still have parents at your side and a lovely family. We are the lucky ones! I am feeling sad that you are so sad. In a few weeks, Spring will be here and life begins anew. Remember that you are loved.

Wherever you are headed next, it doesn't matter, it's part of your journey. You're 55, your children are off starting their lives, or about to be, so whatever it is you are about to do, enjoy it and have a wonderful time doing it! P.S. Whatever you have to do to fill content for videos, I feel for you, because THAT is a job! We will continue to watch your videos in enjoyment! We have learned so much! Thank you!

Hi Pete, I think who you are in what you do- whether farming cattle, tractor rebuilding, entrepreneur, philosopher, family man, author, joke & story telling youtube channel host- is genuine and the draw. I feel like I know you would be a great neighbor all the way from here on the Texas Gulf Coast. The storylines may seem redundant to you, but they are not to me. If my neighbor raised animals & restored old farm equipment I’d never grow tired of hearing and learning the old and new things he learned because of our relationship. You may not experience our relationship that way but I/we do.
I also think your thought process is the juxtaposition of the process & challenge of creating and maintaining the farm+channel vs sustaining the success of the farm & the channel. You have done both well and need to stay fresh. New cross stitch, new tractor, & new enterprise are all processes with goals. That’s life & all get old if you don’t renew. I get that you are in that place these last few months. I reflected the same in my fifties. This may sound odd but I recommend Sabbath rest for you to renew each week. We started practicing Sabbath rest about 9 years ago as a family with adult kids & grands. Our lives aren’t perfect as a result but they are more intentional and being intentional is both a goal and process. I hope you find restful renewal and peace in it. Thanks for all that you do. Blessings..

Pete i’ve left a few comments in our time. And I love what you do. I want you to think of something with me I have known from indigenous teachers some of them inheriting much. the way my people grew and harvested meat was we fed them in the wild as they were. We grew berries and even singed the bushes to make more growth. We planted more crops than we needed with the goal of feeding the animal people. They followed our people, even bison followed the burned grass trails of our burnings that regrew plentifully. While I know this world I am talking about has been changed and those ways not practiced (who has a whole tribe these days?), it does not mean the current way of doing things for the last couple hundred years that we all know tells the exact same story. That said I feel we have a burden to live in the time we are in and I know you love and respect all that are raised on your farm. I do not think for one second you do what you do without respect and love: everyone should be able to tell you are doing the best you can. I regret you have to experience the monstrous side of humanity through the way angry people interact with you. I have heard you speak of this many times and it saddens me each time to know it is happening to you and your family.
I am 15 years younger Pete. I want my voice to remind us what once was, give it value, but not take away from the good that is being done by farmers like you.
Tuning into your video’s has been a great joy for me over the years and I have learned so much from you. The only way I can give back to you is by writing how much I love and respect what you are doing. You have been like a respected elder to me all these years. Thank you from the bottom of my Chickasaw heart.

Pete, my wife and I have enjoyed watching you for about 3 years now. We started because of the animals. We watch you because I'm one of the dreamers you spoke of and we needed someone with that close up focus to learn from. We had that goal, but you helped us with the details that I, looking out to the future, often miss. I can be detail oriented, but not for long enough to restore a tractor. I can appreciate the process but would not often choose to be the process. So yes, we enjoy watching the tractor videos, not because we would ever do that, but because it's always amazing to me that any one person can keep track of the pieces and put them back together properly. The "miracle" of video editing allows us to appreciate that without the excruciating (for us) amount of time it would take to watch what you do in real time. Now, you are a young man, only 55. We didnt start this part of our life until we were 65. You are way further along than we ever will be. And that's just fine. We all have our skill sets in life and you have been using yours to the best you can.
You have a particular skill of effective communication that many do not. You combine that with an apparent desire to share - in the real world we call that teaching. The challenge with teaching is that not everyone wants to learn what you want to teach. I can appreciate it's difficult dealing with the negative attitudes of this world, but if I can suggest you allow yourself the greatest gift you can ever give- ignore them. The older I get the more I really just don't care about the negative Nancy's in this world. I don't give up on them, I just ignore them.
Focus on the positive, on the people who are on a similar journey. If I had seen your channel 40 years ago I wouldn't have been interested amd may have been reacting more like the negatives. We are where we are in life. Others are elsewhere in theirs. Enjoy traveling with those going in your direction!

I appreciate your sharing your journey with us. I have never lived or worked a farm but find your style and character peaceful and fulfilling. It is one of my happy places on UA-cam. Your countenance is a blessing to me and many other people who subscribe. Your livestock are not pets. Most people don't think about the food they need to live come from an animal or plant that is harvested. Shalom(Peace).

Pete I have been watching your videos for years now. I am from a small village in Kerala India. Moved to New York in 2005 when I was 15. Every week I look forward to watching your videos. My father is a farmer and I grew up farming in south India. I miss our farm and everything about it. Now my 18 month old watch your videos with me. He loves your Tractors and your cows and Piggys and of course the Hens. Tractor was one of his first words. Please continue doing what you do and what you love. 😊
