The silo build is very interesting. Those workers do a lot of rigging with each jump. And a lot of rebar! A time lapse of a jump would be cool. Cheers 🇨🇦
The update of.your farm to technology and beautiful facilities is awesome!!!! Solar, new barn, robot scrapers, robot feeding. You and your Dad are amazing dairymen. Thank you.
good morning young man I have always been impressed with your work ethic and the way you conduct yourself as the world has a bunch of young people that just prefer to sit on the couch and watch TV. I am entertained and proud to watch a young man like you work hard since I have worked hard, my whole life I have since retired, I wish you nothing but success and your new house is beautiful and stay healthy. Thank you for this video and all the others and anxiously awaiting the next one.
Silo building brings back memories, spent summer on dairy farm that had a silo built. 1973 or 74. Star silo. They would get 3 "rings" poured in a day. Great video and keep up the great work, everyone depends on farmers.
So now I know how my father added the 4-foot sections of concrete around our old stave silo on our 30-cow dairy up in the Catskills back in the 50's. Fun to watch the progress as this tall silo goes up..
Hey Eric! We use that same footpath you just got in our farm in Lebanon, we really like it and don’t see a whole lot of sore feet and foot issues, hopefully it works out for you too! Good luck on the silo build!
Eric, Thank you so much sharing this silo build…it is fascinating and educational to see how dialed in the crew is. Hugh project and running so smooth. So appreciated !!
That is pretty cool to see how those silos are built. You know they have to stand behind their work as their lives literally depend on what they poured the day before. How do they insure they are going up perfectly straight? One or two degrees at the bottom could translate to a lot at the top.😮
I never knew how the silos are built. Very interesting to see how it is done. A very ingenious set up for getting the concrete in the rings. Thanks Eric for sharing the progress with us. Stay safe.
Hi Eric just an idea if you put a camera up then at the end of the year when all the silos have been built there'll be a cool time-lapse of all 3 silo going up.
Eric awesome content as usual! Love the technology used with your cows! Building the silo is real interesting also. Never seen that done before, I am 70 and been around a lot of construction in my life but this is a first. Thanks! See you can always learn! 😃. Great video. 👍👍👍
Another very educational video Eric. You’re videography is superb. I’m looking forward to watching the Silo build. I’ve never seen one built before. Thanks for sharing. Wishing you & your family a terrific weekend.
I loved you taking care of the big girl. We had one that always had the last stall in the parlor because she didn't fit the stalls and we didn't shut the back gate on her. Weighed just under 2200#'s when we finally had to sell her. If she had a trunk in her rear, she would have been a sedan, or a trunk in her front an elephant. I love the big Holsteins!
Busy day as usual around your farm. That video is so cool to watch the builders go. They are real pros. Can’t wait for the next video to watch the progress.
Exciting to see the new silo start to take shape. Also liked the info on adjustments you are making to the herd. Great video as usual and thanks till next time.
Great video thanks for sharing!! I’ve never watched a silo build so that will definitely be interesting. Also you’re heard management work is obviously not the most entertaining thing but it is certainly interesting to learn and your work at it is impressive imo. Thanks again
Extremely awesome seeing how they build a silo. Looks like the drone will need to be used for rest of the build. Bullis pills and some dairies I've have a fitbit on cows also.
I could probably handle walking around it on top when it gets really high but riding the dump cart at the top...whew you could charge admission for that at the fair!! Also thanks so much for sharing YOUR life with us...me particularly!!
Very possibly the first upright silo poured in the last 30 years. What I have grown to know about farming is that everyone has their opinions and mine isn’t worth more than anyone else’s but upright silos have a lot of problems. First they are dangerous, if you have a clogged chute or the unloaded breaks you at climbing to the top where there is plenty of obvious problems. Second, feed is last in and first out and that feed is least compacted with less fermentation time. And one of my favorites… they are always built in places that interfere with expanding the barn. I can understand building them for a vector system because it can control the unloader, conveyors and other associated equipment but I don’t think you will ever convince me that a vertical silo is a better investment than a feed bunk and a kitchen with a feed grabber.
UA-cam playing tricks. Watched your great informative video and thanks so much for a great video. before I could even think about commenting swish on to the next video. I guess they don't want us to comment. Your new silo is taking its stride up and away. Will be watching and thanks for posting as well about how you work the young cattle.
You guys are going up! And....Kip Siegler going to bunks. Seems like allot of farms looking at their future right now, and where they should go. I like your silo plan.
I'm glad you're sharing the building of the silos.... gives us city people what an operation it is!!! Also. You have the cleanest whitest cows on u tube....they look so soft and fluffy!!❤️ How many do u have now???? ❤❤🙏🙏. God bless
I JUST realized where "Dairy Barn" comes from here on Long Island. We have a drive-through convenience store called "Dairy Barn" but it JUST HIT ME when he said "Dairy Barn" where it's reference is from. LOL
Got to be feeling more real to you guys physically seeing the process stared! I have a feeling it’s gonna be a great addition to your guys farm! Great video good seeing you guys again!
If you want to know what cows look like when they are treated well and loved, watch him walk in with them and how calm they are. This is a amazing young man!
The silo didn't look very big until they were standing inside the forms.
Really neat to see this being done.
Joe
That guy flying around on the concrete cart can't be afraid of heights when the silo grows 😂😂
NOBODY who works on upright silo's can fear heights. I twice walked around the top of a small 45' silo, but I wasn't as wise as I think I am now! 😂
The silo build is very interesting. Those workers do a lot of rigging with each jump. And a lot of rebar!
A time lapse of a jump would be cool.
Cheers 🇨🇦
You’re right about one thing. It’s going to be interesting watching those silos grow to 120 feet.
That silo construction is a really neat setup. Glad they let you film it very interesting
I wouldnt want to be he one fighting to dump that bucket of concrete all day! That's a hard-working man, right there!!
The update of.your farm to technology and beautiful facilities is awesome!!!! Solar, new barn, robot scrapers, robot feeding. You and your Dad are amazing dairymen. Thank you.
NO TRUCKS, to NYC,until that corrupt judge,VACATES,his horrible decision.
Gotta love small-scale nature-friendly agriculture 😂
I am sure your innovation pays off👍🏻

Great video and keep up the great work, everyone depends on farmers.
It would be great if you placed a camera which takes pictures ever half hour during the day while silo is built for a post build video.
Very neat to watch a silo being poured!

Watching the silo go up is fascinating
Amazing video Eric. Love to watch the building of the Silo and the work you and your dad do around the farm. Thank you guys

I am amazed at the building of the silo. It is just fantastic the way they do it. Greetings from Australia

Very interesting! Please show more of the building process!

I always love farm construction videos best. I think its because it shows you are succeeding. Great job Eric.
Watching manure being hauled is still one of my favorite tasks on the farm!
I agree and I can't explain why.
No💩! 🤣
You need Smell-O-Vision!
Thanks for sharing your dairy operation with us all.
That silo building rig is pretty amazing.
Nice farm and very knowledgeable young man!
I believe he has a great future already!!
We need more young farmers like him!!
This is awesome! One you're growing your family operation and two to get to see the construction. Always wondered how those were built.
really well thought out and informative posting. Love the specific info you gave, including how you think about and plan for future.
Good to see the silo starting
the silo building is really interesting. Love seeing how things are built or made.
Another very educational video Eric. You’re videography is superb. I’m looking forward to watching the Silo build. I’ve never seen one built before. Thanks for sharing. Wishing you & your family a terrific weekend.
I've never seen a silo build before. It's really interesting. Thanks Eric.
Excited to see the new silos being built. I was happy to see you just posted an update. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the video, always wondered how silos were built.
Didn't know they still built concrete silos anymore and always wondered how it was done. Thanks
Fascinating video. I have always wondered how silos were made.
Yes this will be very interesting. Glad to see the farm growing
As an old farmer, I'm pretty impressed!
Cool looking silo, I enjoy watching these types of builds. Thanks have a good weekend!
Excited to see these silo's
I loved you taking care of the big girl. We had one that always had the last stall in the parlor because she didn't fit the stalls and we didn't shut the back gate on her. Can't wait to see it all come together.
I never have seen a silo build. Thank you 🙏🏻
Huge respect for what you do. Not many willing to commit to something that takes that much work or dedication. 🚜🚜🚜
Wow. What a set up for that pour. Amazing
Very cool to see the dairy moving forward!
Busy day as usual around your farm. That video is so cool to watch the builders go. They are real pros. Can’t wait for the next video to watch the progress.
Silo would be excellent project for 3D printing. Rebar part is little tricky
Exciting to see the new silo start to take shape. Also liked the info on adjustments you are making to the herd. Great video as usual and thanks till next time.
That cement setup looks like an amusement ride.😂😂😂
Great video thanks for sharing!! I’ve never watched a silo build so that will definitely be interesting. Also you’re heard management work is obviously not the most entertaining thing but it is certainly interesting to learn and your work at it is impressive imo. Thanks again
Silo build is pretty nifty. Interesting to see it go up.
Extremely awesome seeing how they build a silo. Looks like the drone will need to be used for
rest of the build. Bullis pills and some dairies I've have a fitbit on cows also.
First silo I've seen built in a long time good luck with it
Living in the Midwest all my life I haven’t seen a silo go up in 35 years. It’s all been bunks. Kinda different to see.
I could probably handle walking around it on top when it gets really high but riding the dump cart at the top...whew you could charge admission for that at the fair!! Also thanks so much for sharing YOUR life with us...me particularly!!
I watched the neighbors 20x80 build for a little while. The guy on the buggy has more nerves than me.
no doubt!!
@@ronzimmerman8968
We stoped using these labor intensive silos when we had 100 cows. Never would have go backwards. Too much maintenance and costly.
Yup id agree pad of cement and bags sidloader is much more reliable unloader
It is fascinating watching the transformation sooooo glad you are sharing ❤😊
I have to say, that is a pretty smart process they use to build the Silo's.
That is great that you're able to work together with a neighbor. Thanks Eric!
Awesome progress.
I have never seen anyone work as hard as you do. I get exhausted just watching your videos
Yes, the bottom starting lift of concrete HAS to be “level, square, and plumb” so that you don’t end up with a “Leaning tower of Silage…” at the top.
Thank you for everything
I have been waiting for the silo build to start.
That's the first vertical/upright silo I've seen built in a long time.
Very possibly the first upright silo poured in the last 30 years. What I have grown to know about farming is that everyone has their opinions and mine isn’t worth more than anyone else’s but upright silos have a lot of problems. @@MrSteub I see lots of upright/vertical silos being torn down. But none going up.
UA-cam playing tricks. Watched your great informative video and thanks so much for a great video. before I could even think about commenting swish on to the next video.

Putting up a stave silo or harvester type
You guys are going up! And....Kip Siegler going to bunks.
Seems like allot of farms looking at their future right now, and where they should go.
I like your silo plan.
Wow. Really cool watching them built. I feel like I am getting it built on my own farm. Thanks Eric

The tree behind your bunkers is a beauty!
Interesting sight to see - how that silo base is made.
Solenburger silo!
Thanks Eric appreciate the info you share about your family’s operation. 🇺🇸🙏
Fantastic progress, always admire your care and attention given to your livestock. 😁👌👌👌❤️❤️❤️

The silo build is very interesting.
Amazing technology. Thanks for the video.
I JUST realized where "Dairy Barn" comes from here on Long Island. We have a drive-through convenience store called "Dairy Barn" but it JUST HIT ME when he said "Dairy Barn" where it's reference is from. LOL
We have been using the 2 in 1 for several years now. It works very good for us.
Got to be feeling more real to you guys physically seeing the process stared! I have a feeling it’s gonna be a great addition to your guys farm! Great video good seeing you guys again!
Cheers to you.
Interesting stuff going on at your farm.
Really cool how they do that.
Trying to sneak a bit of manure out has a much different meaning for me than it does for Erik.
And for the cow he was about to breed🤣
Excited to se the end results👌 Watching you from Norway☺️
Hello Norway, welcome to the US.
Nothing makes a Friday better than a new video from Eric!
More silo build pls 😊
Boyz make silo building look easy.
If you want to know what cows look like when they are treated well and loved, watch him walk in with them and how calm they are. This is a amazing young man!
He is a cow whisperer
