I love that you show the problems that you have had not just the successes! It helps other beekeepers so they don't have to suffer thru the same mistakes. Thanks for all the excellent content, will be looking forward to the next video!

Really enjoyed this video. It sounds like you are like me , I like doing a job one time an doing it correctly. My father taught me when I was young to do this . He told me something that always stuck in my head . He said “ people has never got time to do it correctly BUT people always has time to do it over.” That was his way of telling to stop screwing up. Lol . As I have said thank you for your information an your time for doing your video’s. THANKS

    No reference to you but,

Like the way you think on the wooden wear. Like the bumper sticker also. We started wax dipping last year and love it.

My old boss used to say " If you don't have time to do it right the first time then when will you have time to do it over."

One’s I had a carpenter who made a ,,silk Cabernet ,, for me from my pawlonia trees, he forgot about that it had to kiln dry for a year and in a week time he was finished but it shrinkage was a 30%

Like it. If you didnt have the ability to wax dip, how would you do your equipment?

I built some bottom boards with yellow-pine lumber from Lowes, the wood was so wet you could not work with it. After the finished boards baked in the sun for a week, there was 3/8 gaps between the boards and I had to fill the cracks with window calking.. The 1x6 lumber cost me 8.00 for the build and I found a place that ships the bottom board for 21.59 w/o any flaws. The bottom boards from a local vendor was 35 and all their woodenware was stupid expensive.. Where I live, I cannot get any decent lumber and I'm looking into insulated hives such as ANEL and the overpriced Apimaye because I see the value in technology.

It was a good lesson to learn for me…..that ended up being a blessing. My equipment is not tight. It allows for extra airflow…..Bob Ross would call it a “happy accident”

The type of wood you are using and if you bud the shims together by cutting groove for the rain to don’t get in ?

Oh the rain definitely gets in. If they don’t want it they’ll usually propolize it closed
