Farmers must be the most self-sufficient and resilient people on the planet. They've got to know just about everything.
You're amazing. Grant sure is blessed to have you.Youre beautiful and you're not scared to get dirty and you both have a great personality
Love that you are always so positive and upbeat 💕
SAFETY TIP: Please remove those drawstrings from your hoodie. Leaning over to work on an auger or PTO shaft, or any other spinning object could lead to disaster.
Very good advice, worked industrial construction for years, and I totally missed that!
Needs to remove her ring as well or get a silicone one. I would hate for her to loose a finger.
Ya

Laura has the best attitude with everything so encouraging.
I hate scraping gaskets so your hired. Another tip, throw the rubber intake end seals away and use a bead of black rtv. It will stay in place and won't work out over time, seals better and easier.
Yes, or at least a dab where it meats the heads!
I liked when you said you had mechanics hands. And that you liked it. Very cool. Good luck with all the shop projects.
I like how she is ready to work on anything.
I wonder how many young gals could say they have worked on/replaced the valley gasket of a V8 lump, then again theres alway Laura to depend on getting stuck in. Like your vids chuck, good on you and may you be happy in your future relationship with your partener, I can see from 6,000 plus miles away you are a perfect match.
Wire brush never sandpaper is what i was taught little pieces of sand can get every were even making the bolts so they can't be torqued correctly . I learned that from my gramps in 80 rebuilding a 4020.
Hello from Russia. I'm waiting for the moment when you and your husband ride a green pickup 👍
I am a retired master mechanic of 30 years, after you removed the gasket from the intake, check it for warpage with a straight edge and feeler gauge. Also set the intake on the heads and check the clearance on the end seals.
What an awesome day!!! Working with your fiancé' in the shop learning and accomplishing together. Perfect!
Stripping down and rebuilding equipment. The farmers' winter life.
Engine work! Goody! Love it! And love the layered look! You're beautiful as always! Keep warm! Stay safe!
Please don't ever change anything you do. This is great, genuine and from the heart. I noticed on a Cale video the other day it looked like he was measuring for a PTO shaft cover. I cringe every time you start one of those engines. That shaft knows no boundary's! I want you to keep your long hair. And as easy as you are on the eye's and to listen to, I need more Grant and your Dad. Your dad cracks me up! And is there any way Curt can tell about how farming used to be. When I worked on the farm in the late 70's early 80's it was not this. Not near as cool! And we had New John Deer equipment. Keep it up you guys are great!
Love the videos, Laura. Keep up the good work and make Grant teach you everything he knows.
As a side note, I saw that you were wearing your ring. You might want to think about (talk with Grant) getting a nice chain and wearing your ring on the chain when you are working on the equipment. This will protect the ring from damage/loss and protect your hand from injury from the ring getting caught on something. From a Dad and a safety inspector.
I'd like to 2nd that opinion, safety first, last, and always !!!!
I love shop videos. I hope you continue to do them during the winter. You and Grant seem to make such a great team.
Fantastic, young people doing actual work that’s important. Cheers!
these people are so full of knowledge and stuff i dont know lol i know nothing really about anything they do and they seem to fix it wiht no problems at all id have no idea if i blew a gasket or how to change it but i guess thats another perk of living on a farm lots of stuff to do everyday too alot fo work no doubt.
Gotta love winter projects. As a 20 year mechanic, I have to say I've never seen a set like them, but those exhaust manifolds are sweet!
Hands on experience is always the best. It's how we learn.
In Georgia we scrape old gaskets off the same way as you , the ole razor blade and sand paper technique. 👌
dont forget to get rid of loose hanging clothing. so not to get cought in moving pto's and such. hope you stay safe.
I must say i love the soundtrack that you used now for your shots/timelaps, i'm humming along everytime it plays!
You two work great together, life won't always be rosy but together you'll face it head on for a brighter future.
Love all your videos, I want to wish you the very best on your upcoming wedding, may all your dreams and wishes come true. Your guy is a lucky dude. May god bless you and your family.
Gotta love a girl who spends more time out in the fields and/or garage then planning her wedding... LOL Getting close!!
They make Scotch Bright pads to fit an angle die grinder, they work great on sanding fine surfaces like that.
I am learning english using subtitles. You speak well, continue like this.😄👍🇹🇷
Wire wheel on a drill or small grinder works great for cleaning up a gasket surface
Just a little tip, use a sanding block to sand down gasket surfaces to keep them flat.
Looks like detonation damage on the snowmobile is other words low octane gas causes that problem try to keep high octane gas in all 2 stroke engines. i worked on snowmobiles for over 40 yrs all brands
Looks like she is willing to learn anything. Good job. I hope the engine is saved.😀😀😁😁😁
The truck......
Aka Mr. Green Jeans looks awesome, keep it stock!😃👍
Bigger priority for farm dress have nothing hanging loose which can catch in machinery. Other than that anything works
What a satisfying process of making something look new again!
Love that 5 window Chevy! Definitely worth spending some time on.
Here’s a little help for ya use a shop vac while your scraping old gaskets off . And remove all paper cloths off after your done and double check that everything is clear .
You two working well together in a low key kind of way is a good indicator of a good marriage.
Laura and engines ==> Laura working on engines ==> fav content
They make a great handle tool that will hold that razor blade, it has a long screwdriver type handle....mechanics use them to scrape off inspection/tag stickers off windshields. Much safer and will work better, should have one at any hardware store. PS Wanna sell that sweet pickup?
A super model tells us what to wear!
You’d make a burlap sack look good! And it wouldn’t show dirt! 😂
Hello Laura good too see you as always
I use a wire wheel in a drill to clean iron gasket surfaces, not much on aluminum though.
You are doing good job learning Laura . Thumbs up
@Laura A flexible putty knife works really good for removing old gasket material as well. Love the vids!
The green truck looks amazing
Thanks for the new video!
Yeah!!! Laura, you got a loyal fan here!!! Hahaha!!! Good morning!!! Any winners yet on the coolers? Watching your videos. My first rebuild experience on a Ford 289 V-8 was when I was a Junior in High School. My Dad taught us, boys, how to rebuild an engine. It was a fun learning experience.
Winner will be picked at the new year!
Ford 289! My favorite small-block engine.
Next project: swap the well motor into the truck!
Then the truck will suck. lol
Drop a 353 Detroit in it. What you lose in power and hearing will be made up for in smiles.
Good choice on well pump engines, i bet its a beautiful sound mid summer when them things are running around the country, Lots of bald eagles singing outta those BBC's! Probably not the most fuel efficient engine but they have all kinds of low end grunt for what your using them for i bet! keep up the good Videos!
Motors are electric powered, engines are powered by fuel.
A jitterbug sander makes easy work of removing the old crud and gasket material. I bet you've got some nice slices in your fingers.
I give you an "A" for effort.
Yeah.. but we like to use country folk terminology around here.
suggestion for ya, for future reference - don't just toss fasteners into a can, bowl, etc, thinking you'll remember which bolt goes where during reassembly (you won't, trust me)... Ziploc bags, Tupperware containers, pretty much any container will work, with a description - head bolts, manifold bolts, etc - and a picture of necessary (tore down a V8 years ago, 7 of the intake-manifold bolts were shorter than the rest - and the 'assembler' forgot this, had to remove & retorque them all)...
Wow, what an awesome truck.
You better hire her Grant. I've seen mechanics who haven't done that quality of work!
Love the old Chevy I have a 53 chevy. Is the engine you where working on a gas or diesel I like that you are all thing farms from tractor work to getting your hands dirty in the shop country needs more Ladies and Men like you Feeding America
A very nice job Laura and Grant.
Nice to see someone wearing Carhart and Timberlands for their intended purpose.
Laura! Your going to make a wonderful Engine Mechanic!! 👍👊
That's a very nice old truck
You can do it all! 🙂 Nice work!
You two are a great young couple! Best wishes.
Next time use a razor scraper holding tool makes it much easier on the hands and is faster. Use sanding block to keep it as flat as possible. Otherwise good job!
Love that green truck!
I'm a senior, does grey hair count? Note to Laura, use small vice grips to hold the blade, easier and quicker.
And safer
Or get one of those scrapers which hold the blade ... you can get packs of replacement blades from the hardware store.
Your awesome Laura.....❤️❤️❤️I felt for you 🥰🥰🥰
That truck looks sweet. We need the 411 on that.
Lol you gotta take good care of skidoos, they are some people’s life! Would love to see the engine running once you get it all finished up, ongoing UA-cam series?
The rear axle is definitely in need of some attention looks like its moved forward a couple inches.
Congratulations girl for your wedding I live in Norfolk Nebraska I watch your videos a lot sounds good
Most UA-cam girls : I have this nice red lipstick to show you.
Laura : I have this red liquid gasket to show you all.
Usually gasket manufacturers don't recommend putting gasket sealer on, it can cause leaks.
Laura!!! OMG! A gal that doesn't mind getting her hands dirty!!!! ( Wear gloves! Get a real gasket scraper!) You did a great job by the way. Give Grant a big hug just for G.P.
razor blade/ wedding/ hum-m-m-m-m-m-m-m 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Laura, a gasket scraper from any automotive store or a Walmart works much better and is 100% safer.
My favorite old pickup a 5 window Chevy very cool truck.
220 sandpaper on a block makes short work of cleaning a surface.
Followed bc of Laura. But, Grant is a good dude. Good job man!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all. From Washington Court House, Ohio
2020 12. Projects: engine repair, little field work, wedding and video making... dense december
You better get that pickup running!😉😊
get some 3m Bristle Discs put it in a drill it cleans engine so amazingly fast and ready for sealing
Pick up looks in pretty good condition.
i love your farm and your equipment
Hey Laura. I like your videos! I'm from Germany and we have a family farm. It's intresting to see agriculture in USA! It's the same like in Germany but all is Bigger!!!🤣😁.Friendly greetings Pony
nice vid, keep it up!
Bonjour de France j adore ce pick-up vert et la mécano est très doué
You are hired 😉 I have a motorcycle project coming up soon 😅
You are like the Taylor Swift of the youtube ag community. Please don't stop and make them a little bit longer. Thanks Laura.
Grant's reppin the merch!
Is that a JBL speaker in the background at 5:05? Love those. Have one for the house!!
Is it cold there? Great! You can ask Tim Taylor or Die Autodoktoren. I use the same cutter too for all :-)
Beautiful!
Man.......if I could only get my wife to just SOME of the maintenance you’re doing on these machines then I’d be set! Wife just likes to “ride” on our tractor, not “work” on the tractor 😄
L*A*Z*Y, and fingernails are expensive 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
< Happy Holidays Jay & Family > 🎄🎶💖
Nice working
Gasket scraping tool 1 The girls needs a tool; c'mon you guys ! SEND IT !
You shouldn't use a metal blade to clean the headgasket, cause you can gauge the surface and it could lead to leaking afterwards, i recommend you to use a plastic scrapper.
PD: Hi, i watch your videos from Panamá XD
Head gaskets r fun
Nice Video
Kind Regards from austria 👌🇦🇹
