I don't see that happen really. The solutions are simple, but it needs 1 collective. And that is pretty much impossible. Even a world disaster threat like an asteroid or such where the world needs to work together, would probably be not enough. I dont think the entire world can be inspired anymore by one person. If this happens if will happen far after we are gone. Only thing we can do is keep talking about it, with the acceptance that it wont happen in our lifetime. I feel very inspired when watching this, especially when Jacque explains how he thinks in how the creations come about. This evokes a sense of curiosity and questioning in myself to challenge how I see the world and what am I doing. I am grateful for this.

This is the evolution that our species will need to reach if we're ever going to be a successful intergalactic species. We need to completely rethink our view of ourselves, the environment, and how we consume resources. The fact that we're still using currency is actually quite frightening. We know for a fact that the very use of such a system creates inefficiency. I believe that we can achieve the goals set forth to attain an RBE system, but we have some very difficult work ahead of us to achieve it.

Nick Londo I'm looking at it from another perspective. We currently don't have any economic system that could currently work as a transitory system to RBE. Socialism is probably the closest, but it needs quite a lot of tweaking in order to be used as a successful transitory system. I'm leaving for Germany in October on a scholarship to get my masters in economics. I plan on working to put together that transitory system. We need to do this in steps and stages or it will never work. My hope is that someone else will begin to work towards a transitory social system. Once people see that that the steps can be accomplished then it makes the goal a lot more believable and achievable.

I personally am getting a degree in animation, it might not help you and Jacque but it's the path I chose and who knows, everything in the future needs a concept modeled and the best way to do that is through computers, through 3d modeling, faster, cheaper, easier.

I understand that it was his ignorance of historical and theological knowledge that led him to assume all religions are mere inventions of man to deceive one another. And to those who think that way, ask yourself how much you really know. People assume because it's easier than applying the scientific method at every opportunity.
@@gv327 I think that you have misunderstood what he is talking about when he talks about religion, I didn't see any hatred towards religion, what I saw was a man who looked at religion and compared it to what is happening around the world and saw that it doesn't add up! So he has walked away from the idea of what religion is and focused on what's real, the here and now. I'm sure that if you had the opportunity to speak to him in person, you will find that he has no hatred towards you for your beliefs and will be happy to talk to you about anything... I myself are not religious and don't hate religion either, like him I also questioned religion and found out that there are other religious beliefs in the world other than the one which was being taught to me. I completely agree and love a majority of the ideas/concepts but the biggest hurdle if human greed. Everyone knows we need to change or perish but still mainly worry about their own life span /economic state. We've got to change people to change the world

Greed isn't innate within humans, its driven by what we are taught and shown. Capitalism drives the competition for monetary wealth, many people have the goal of reaching the pinnacle of wealth, as that is the top of this society, but removing this way of thinking will eliminate the greed within people and allow us to create a better world.

One solution to the Fermi paradox is that there are great filters which basically prevent intelligent life from surviving and becoming multi planet species. I love Jacque Fresco, it is true. But, there is one area in particular that I do disagree with, and that is the concept of "God". I've been an atheist most of of life. However, in 2012, I had 2 NDE's that have convinced me that there is a higher power and there may be intelligence behind the workings and designs within this realm. That isn't to say that evolution or science is wrong, or anything to that effect but, there are some things no amount of science can explain. What I experienced was no mere hallucination and I no longer fear death. There is a GREAT place waiting for me on the otherside. I'm in no rush to get there, mind you. Still, I dream about waking up to a better world everyday where we are free to create and explore instead of submitting ourselves to pointless, tedious labors.

I think there is no problem with this plan, and it is very practical. For me, I am very looking forward to it, but there is a very important and core problem, how to make the powers hidden behind the scenes to accept all this, I believe for them, it means to change the existing system, they will lose everything they have now, such as power, money, wealth, status and honor, etc. For them, it should be unacceptable, I think most of them are unwilling, even if it is a certain and bright future... I don't know how helpful it is to design and draw stuff that's impossible to make or completely impractical. As sci fi concept art it's cool I guess. But it's like that Karl Pilkington bit where he 'invents' "a watch that counts down the time left until you die." And when asked "how does it work?" he responds with "just pop it on your wrist." 'Electro static discharge' as means of propulsion for a vtol like aircraft? What? Utopian thinking is nice but it doesn't really count as advancement when it can't even get off the ground. "Oh I drew a design for something cool that maybe we'll be able to make in 100 years." I guess in 100 years you'll have saved some designer from having to sketch up the concept for a 'floating megastructure.' That is, if they still want that style in 100 years. Maybe Brutalism or Art Deco won't be 'cool' in 100 years. Will they still be really into glass and LEDs?

Trick is getting it moving towards a large scale system. It is possible though creating culture within a business or business network similar to what people like Elon Musk and Richard Branson have achieved; a vision and then the followers that get on board. I dont think Jacque lacks vision he just needs to work out how to get more people on board his future train. I feel very inspired when watching this, especially when Jacque explains how he thinks in how the creations come about. This evokes a sense of curiosity and questioning in myself to challenge how I see the world and what am I doing. I am grateful for this.

This is the evolution that our species will need to reach if we're ever going to be a successful intergalactic species. We need to completely rethink our view of ourselves, the environment, and how we consume resources. The fact that we're still using currency is actually quite frightening. We know for a fact that the very use of such a system creates inefficiency. I believe that we can achieve the goals set forth to attain an RBE system, but we have some very difficult work ahead of us to achieve it.
BramSLI1 the main obstacle i;ve come across is the spreading of information along with peoples seeming inability to understand what an RBE really means, assuming its the lazy mans way out of carrying a job lie everyone else. the secondary thing is anyone ive mentioned this too says "that would be nice, but its never going to happen, other people wouldnt do it."
i propose we try to unite people before doing something like this, to the point where we think as one people and not as me and everyone else.
Nick Londo I'm looking at it from another perspective. We currently don't have any economic system that could currently work as a transitory system to RBE. Socialism is probably the closest, but it needs quite a lot of tweaking in order to be used as a successful transitory system.
I'm leaving for Germany in October on a scholarship to get my masters in economics. I plan on working to put together that transitory system. We need to do this in steps and stages or it will never work. My hope is that someone else will begin to work towards a transitory social system.
Once people see that that the steps can be accomplished then it makes the goal a lot more believable and achievable.
BramSLI1 It's good to hear that more people are trying to help mankind evolve. I personally am getting a degree in animation, it might not help you and Jacque but it's the path I chose and who knows, everything in the future needs a concept modeled and the best way to do that is through computers, through 3d modeling, faster, cheaper, easier.

I understand that it was his ignorance of historical and theological knowledge that led him to assume all religions are mere inventions of man to deceive one another. And to those who think that way, ask yourself how much you really know. People assume because it's easier than applying the scientific method at every opportunity.

@@gv327 I think that you have misunderstood what he is talking about when he talks about religion, I didn't see any hatred towards religion, what I saw was a man who looked at religion and compared it to what is happening around the world and saw that it doesn't add up! So he has walked away from the idea of what religion is and focused on what's real, the here and now.
I'm sure that if you had the opportunity to speak to him in person, you will find that he has no hatred towards you for your beliefs and will be happy to talk to you about anything...
I myself are not religious and don't hate religion either, like him I also questioned religion and found out that there are other religious beliefs in the world other than the one which was being taught to me. Today I'm more free than I used to be, I have no room in my life for it as it's now taken up with trying to do something like what's in this documentary...

I completely agree and love a majority of the ideas/concepts but the biggest hurdle if human greed. Everyone knows we need to change or perish but still mainly worry about their own life span /economic state. We've got to change people to change the world

Greed isn't innate within humans, its driven by what we are taught and shown. Capitalism drives the competition for monetary wealth, many people have the goal of reaching the pinnacle of wealth, as that is the top of this society, but removing this way of thinking will eliminate the greed within people and allow us to create a better world.

One solution to the Fermi paradox is that there are great filters which basically prevent intelligent life from surviving and becoming multi planet species. 46:25 : isn't this actually called MagnetoHydroDynamic or MHD ? It has been studied and proposed as an actual method which some ufos may use. It was even tested on a japanese ship called Yamato 1 iirc.
I am not sure of evidence on alien use/existance, or the technology fresco spoke of being developed past theoretical stage.

Hello, I hope the Venus Project is still active. I would like to suggest that for the next public releases of information, use as much facts as possible, not visual "cool looking things". This is atleast how I feel about it. I'm not truly convinced that this is possible if we all worked together. I am open to hear, or read, of how this in visioned future is possible. Also, what can anybody do to help The Venus Project if they have spare 5h per week?

I love Jacque Fresco, it is true. But, there is one area in particular that I do disagree with, and that is the concept of "God". I've been an atheist most of of life. However, in 2012, I had 2 NDE's that have convinced me that there is a higher power and there may be intelligence behind the workings and designs within this realm. That isn't to say that evolution or science is wrong, or anything to that effect but, there are some things no amount of science can explain. What I experienced was no mere hallucination and I no longer fear death. There is a GREAT place waiting for me on the otherside. I'm in no rush to get there, mind you. Still, I dream about waking up to a better world everyday where we are free to create and explore instead of submitting ourselves to pointless, tedious labors.
I believe fresco spoke of making our world today as eden would be. To me that makes sense, many people follow different beliefs and in a Resource-based-economy that is fine

I think there is no problem with this plan, and it is very practical. For me, I am very looking forward to it, but there is a very important and core problem, how to make the powers hidden behind the scenes to accept all this, I believe for them, it means to change the existing system, they will lose everything they have now, such as power, money, wealth, status and honor, etc. For them, it should be unacceptable, I think most of them are unwilling, even if it is a certain and bright future... Of course, for us ordinary people, this is undoubtedly the best choice... I don't know about you How do you view this issue?

We declare them winners of the "old Game", acknowledge their sacrifice, and carve their names in stone for all Future humanity to celebrate them. True immortality and Fame beyond death. As sci fi concept art it's cool I guess.
But it's like that Karl Pilkington bit where he 'invents' "a watch that counts down the time left until you die." And when asked "how does it work?" he responds with "just pop it on your wrist."

Utopian thinking is nice but it doesn't really count as advancement when it can't even get off the ground.

just from an architectural and engineering point of view. i dont think these cities will provide enough architectural variety, the thing that i love about most of our current cities is that they have history in the architecture and the buildings.
are the advocates for this project supporting of the demolition of our current cities? because this is one of my main problems with this movement. Someone please answer as whenever i post here i either get blocked or called a troll, this is a legit question.
Trick is getting it moving towards a large scale system. It is possible though creating culture within a business or business network similar to what people like Elon Musk and Richard Branson have achieved; a vision and then the followers that get on board. I dont think Jacque lacks vision he just needs to work out how to get more people on board his future train. At the very least he provides inspiration and that may be the right gift to a person that can take it a step further.
