Best video on this BY FAR.. I just had to do 6 x 17's and 6 x 19.5 dismount and mount.. Definitely not fun, but it's $520 to switch just one set here so worth my time for sure.
I absolutely agree! Like, bro! He has NO IDEA how HELPFUL this video has been!😅😅😅Yea? like boom!!! It suddenly clicked! (Not the tire) 😅 his class!! Hands down best coach/teacher/sensei by FAR!
Thankyou for taking the time to show how important the recessed area is, I'm 66 and thought I'd try fitting my own tyres which worked out OK "after" I watched you're video... 10/10...

Not to bury the lede: I used a reciprocating (sawzall) saw to cut off a tire that got stuck, a 13" trailer tire. A little time to get through the steel wire in the bead. I think it fatigued and broke. Sparks flying. I did the dance of joy. I didn't know about the off center wheel recess being important. Now I know why some tires seem so difficult. You have vital information for us. Now ready for those 7 new 225 70r 19.5"s 77 years old here. Still ticking. Thanks so much.
I used a circular carbide tip power saw to cut the stinking tires off. About 2 inches off the rim. Then I used a normal size cutting torch for the rest of the rubber and wire still on the rim. I wasn't going to play any games people. I wanted the rims to create a outdoor movable airtight woodstove. It takes 4 rims. 2 axles. Inch and a half inch pipe. Slide it into 2 inch pipe. The 2 inch pipe is schedule 80. It rolls inside better. 4 feet wide and 8 feet long. A lot of plate steel. Your making a firebox. Oh well I guess you know there's no tires on my rims. A lot more to do. Ok see you all.
@@philkillen5016 You did it wrong and made a lot more work for yourself, but still you were proud enough to post it here. I struggled with my first rim. Then the rest were easy because I followed the procedure. If you own a car or motorcycle, learn to do it correctly ...or pay the big bucks at a tire shop.
Hi the best tyre fitting video I have ever watched.......your good man....thank you so much for sharing your knowledge man. I am in the UK.....been changing my own car and 4x4 tyres since I was 17 with just tyre irons....now 71....just for myself. My pal brought me 6 old wheels and asked me to help him dismount them.....they are off a big american 4x4 16inch.....20 years old....tyres look great no cracks. Bead braking was a sinch.....getting the first side off every tyre was easy but getting the back side of every one was a PITA. We gave up on the last 2 for another day.....but seeing your ways has given me new hope. Just never had a prob before....thinking its just that the rubber is old....we used plenty of lube. Nick from the UK.
As others have said. By far the best video on You Tube. Pay close attention to finding the recess of the wheel. By far the most overlooked detail. Thanks for the video.
Man thank you so very much you saved me a whole lotta blood sweat and well mostly sweat. I was having one heck of a time trying to mount these 35's on my rims but thanks to your video I corrected the mistakes I was making and gotter done bro. Very much appreciated!
I just got the ken Tool duckbilled tire wedge hammer. These are a ton of methods for breaking the bead. I decided on the most simple, effective and least cost. I have to admit that I don't feel comfortable swinging this against a tire. I will most likely place it on the tire and hit it with a dead blow hammer. I'm also afraid to use the duckbilled hammer on a motorcycle tire because I worry it could send the rim out of true. For the motorcycle tires I will prob'ly stick with a board and a couple of C-clamps. If you own vehicles that use tires, its a really good idea to know how to service tires. I watched many videos on mounting tires. This is the best video by far.
I super appreciate this video man. I sweat my aaay of before trying to swap just lt's and you make it look easy. My favorite moment from the video so far is the rear stomp while pulling front bead. I'm at 7:02 and couldn't stop myself from praising you💯 More up come I'm sure
Thanks buddy appreciate it God bless It’s crazy that you said that about the direction of mounting him that’s what happened I just cut a brand new trailer tire off with my salsa and bolt Cutters. I don’t know how the guy got it on nobody could get it off haven’t seen anybody do Tires this way in a long time I needed the memory when I was younger and I work with my aunt out on the trucks and this is how they did it by hand the giant semi tires in here I am struggling with his dang trailer tire so is everybody else but I’m gonna get it
I had a bad accident that left my arm kinda screwed missing a big chunk like a shark bite plus bearly any mobility in my wrist i can put my weight on it no prob but cant really bend it goin back to work tomorrow and im a bit nervous i used to be so good and efficient at this job plus i love it i really hope i can still do it
I’m only trying to do 18” and smaller tires. It would be handy if they made an attachment for 5 pound slide hammers to break a bead. I do have a good 4 pound mini sledge though. And worst case scenario you can just drive a car onto the tire wall or use a ratchet strap and a jack.
Great video. Just wondering, what is your recommendation on tire levers i.e. ideal length? curved vs straight? levers with the knobs vs no knobs? etc. thanks a bunch again for this video

can you do a second video on getting the second lip of the tire off? i'm spending 90% of my time here. i have not once gotten the tire to pop off using the method where you drop tire and let gravity do work while pull up on tire iron right before tire/wheel hits ground. when i flip tire over and try to pop wheel out the top, the wheel doesn't sit up like it does in your video. any help here appreciated.
The boys at work tried to mount a truck tyre before I got there the other day and did it on the wrong side full stop and they thought I could fix it when I got there but we couldn't get it off either and had to cut it with the grinder😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The best video i have seen on this subject! Very clear explanations, thankyou sooo much!

They call it a safety rim. If the tire goes flat while driving, it is supposed to prevent the tire for removing itself from the wheel

Its personal preference i prefer more curved and longer means more leverage and less work
If I can do that several times a day, i won't ever need to work out in the gym.
Looks more doable than the other vids I’ve seen. I’ll try it tomorrow
Great tutorial!
Fabulous 👌
Is the Fast inflator a real thing and where can I pick one up. Mentioned at around 13:00 mark of the video.
Milton 731 any tire supplier should have it
Good advice, thanks…
Best tyre explanation. We're can i buy the quick inflator i can't seem to find one. Thanks
Look through the comments I remember in the past I told somebody how to get it or they found it Ken tool, I believe
if i rounded the edges on some long handled pry bars, would it be enough to prevent damage?
In a pinch i have used prybars before but it does make it more difficult good luck

You are a 100% sure you are dismounting from the correct side. what size is the tire?
Please I need to know where I can get the tire irons what size to change my car tire size 19 inch
Ummm, You might go on the internet and type in, "Tire Irons." Just a thought.
Harbor Freight 24" tire irons are all you need. They only $6.
This is a video from professional. In addition to tools you need to develop that skill. After that you can be successful in it.
Nice, very nice!
Thank you 👍🏽
pls advise the type of lube you are using? The one im using is more stickyier but yours is more water based?
You just add water to it to dilute it down throw a couple clumps of it in a bucket mix it with water and squeeze it between your fingers to dilute it

i'd be the only mofo that would make that recess of the groove on the hard side just to keep it that way...
That groove be the key to the whole kit and kaboodle! Ida done it backwards had I not found this vid
* drop center = recession in wheel.
