"The sound of No Torque, whoopee" the 360 stradale is one of the greatest sounding cars in history, and maybe the best sounding ferrari in history meanwhile the USA pumps out how many V8's that redline at 6000rpm?? sure they make the power but in a brutish and crude way, and for my own tastes american V8's aren't actually crazy enough, i need me a dodge viper, and those have N/A 8.0L+ v10s that don't make peak torque until 5000rpm.....
I don't mean a Ferrari specifically, just a fun sports car. Can be a BRZ, or a 25 year old Alfa (like mine). Fun cars are in every price bracket. They can be daily cars.
ChaosphereIX Totally agree. If something brakes you fix it or replace it, because you need to maintain it so you can drive it regularly. If it was a garage queen and you drive it once a year, you'll be scared what will brake next. A well maintained and regularly serviced car is always better than a car that sits.
@@fernank017 I agree with Keenan. Usually people associate supercars with them not being driven and it extends to all supercars but really the key here should be exactly GROUND CLEARANCE. Some of these supercars are beautiful, have a sick sound and a lot of power BUT the sad fact is that they are just shit cars with some of them even completely sacrificing all practical engineering just for beauty and power.
Love these crazy performance cars with "patina" and high mileage I just think they look so much more beautiful worn in like that kinda like a vintage tropical Dial watch with some scuffs.

@@TeflonNapkins Its actually an Auto-Manual, and uses clutches internally and does not use a converter. So its nothing like an automatic transmission in all honesty except for the fact that it has a neutral, drive and reverse gear.

That pause in between shifts is the sound of the clutch being actuated, just like how the driver would depress the clutch in a standard transmission, except everything here is done automatically via electrohydraulics. It is an automated manual transmission, after all.
I drive a stretch of road like that every day going to work. Most days, there's some douche (or 2, or 4) who ignores all the signs and cuts in at the last possible moment, just itching to get to the next red light 20 seconds earlier.

New supercars and hypercars could learn alots, its not all about horsepower and how expensive the car is.. it's the way it makes you feel and drive, the experience to. The newer cars seem to be just going in a direction were tomorrow there will be a new one, then afew months later another one (were people will already have forgotten the previous one) the cars don't age any more !!! Compared to something like this omg !!!

That pause in between shifts is the clutch being actuated automatically, or depressed, like how the driver would in a conventional three-pedal manual transmission. Just like how the driver would disengage the clutch, and move the stick, in a standard manual transmission. This is an automated manual, so that's why it behaves like that. It is a bit slow, but it's still quicker than any human shifting a standard transmission with a clutch.
The harder the car is driven the better the engine is.. especially with these highly tuned engines. Even for my Basic 996... 175,000km and i drive it daily and hard... the engine just loves revving over 4k!
Has much people treat Ferrari's like garage queen's, you got to remember Enzo Ferrari built them to be raced and properly driven, so i bet the old man is with a big smile in his face watching this vid wherever he is !!
Kudos to you Matt, for aggressively driving a 360 CS with sketchy rear suspension on the left side of the road. Over the course of your video, I lost track of the number of times I would have driven straight into oncoming traffic at some of those wacky intersection/roundabouts because my brain is still thinking "stay to the right."
That's awesome! Makes me wonder a litle bit further... a Challenge Stradale built from a manual gearbox Modena 360. I don't know if that's possible but it would be EPIC, the ultimate driver's car!
If your still in the uk try and get in a clean good condition Peugeot 205 gti as boring as it sounds its a car I personally love and such a raw classic adorable drivers car that I think you will love and the viewers would love to see especially seen as I doubt that the us would have seen much of
I really wish this conversion was still economically feasible because I would love to have a CS without worrying about the mileage you wouldn't want to put on a real CS.

I happen to own a RHD BMW E46 and everything is comfortable for me, except the hazards button being behind the gear leaver (which is in the same place in all E46s, including the LHD). Even the ashtray is mirrored accordingly. The stereo is the same as the LHD, though.

I remember seeing Ferrari 360 Challenge cars (actually, Challenge was the name of the race, not the model name) run as support races for the USGP in the 2000s and I don't remember them sounding so nice. Isn't the Challenge Stradale more track oriented than modena? In terms of chassis they're more robust thus more welding has to be to done to cope with the forces due on the track. More of a replica than an actual CS!
@@mmtot the challenge cars arent anything special to begin with. Its a ferrari customer racing series, the cars arent absolute bonkers. 360 challenge is just a lighter racing version of the 360 modena, they arent that different. Stradale is the road legal challenge with a bit more luxuries in it

If I wanted to daily a sports car it would have to be a corvette or a porsche, possibly the new Z4. Daily cars have to be maintenance friendly.

I absolutely love these. The F1 box ain't the best, but when compared back to back with a Gallardo E gear on a track, its phenomenal.
