Fishing the Rebel Jumpin Minnow for Stripers

Have you ever tried just a treble in the belly slot and left off the rear hook? I’m wondering how that would affect the action of the JM?

Yes I have tried it. The rear single inline with the treble hook on the belly has been the best hook up percentage.

Is this 2020 or 2021? Love Jumpin minnow, plan to use it more this year. Was out on the sound toggin near you last year when you filmed the humpback.

@@JesterrMinded having the right rod helps as well to fling it out there as it is a really light lure. Been using this mainly as my go to this spring and the 4" Al Gags

Yes, size 2 VMC belly hook and a 2/0 VMC inline tail hook.

These lures are best rigged with a size 2 treble in the belly and a 2/0 inline single hook in the rear. In terms of concerns for damage to the fish, I would rate release handling and time out of the water as the most significant factors. The single treble is fine on this lure and offers much better hook ups.
