I've lived in reading almost my whole life and it's tuely amazing! You guys should check out the lava tubes in the summer, they are about an hour from redding but definitely worth the trip
This is my home town and I'm so glad you had such an amazing time in our area. Hopefully you got to go to some caves while you were here. Thank you for making this lovely video of where I live. This was awesome
My family tree has been living here, in Redding, for over 50 years and I am happy people are spreading the greatness of a true great city and place, and I am happy to have been born, raised, and still living in Redding.
I moved my family here 10 years ago because of my wife and her health problems. I've heard both sides from the locals. In my observation Redding is a terrific place to live and raise a family. Everyplace has its problems. Depends upon what you focus on and our own attitude towards where we live.
@dacrosber Hmm did you visit while it was Summer time? I seriously doubt that you did otherwise you would have been complaining about the 114+ HOT weather up here in Redding!
I’m a local and I wish you both would’ve been able to experience the area pre-Carr fire. Whiskeytown lake was surrounded by beautiful trees and so many wild animals. You missed a few beautiful waterfalls Whiskeytown falls (just reopened after nearly 3 years)and Feary falls. This is a great video, thanks for showing our towns gems!
We can’t do it all unfortunately, but prioritize the things that excite us the most. The video was already much longer than planned 😅 We think the area was still gorgeous even post fire!
Crystal Falls. They could have hit that when they were at Whiskeytown Lake, it's only a couple miles from there, and it's 1/4 mi flat walk from the parking lot to the falls.
I'm from the bay area and I take my kids up every couple years to all these places, so amazing up there, next time, do the Shasta dam tour and tour Shasta caverns!!!
I was born in Redding. Glad you made it to Burney Falls! So many memories for me in this part of the state. If you're still in the area check out Lave Tubes National Monument.
No way! I didn’t know that! And that has been a VERY highly recommended spot. Unfortunately it was the wrong direction this time, but we hope to check it out on the next trip!
I live in Redding now and it’s so different to see it from someone else’s eyes. I see this as home and the mountains are normal for me crazy to think some people don’t get to see this everyday.
Lifelong Californian here and want to commend you for all the stellar videos showing off all that our great state has to offer. I’ve bypassed Redding en route to other adventures, thinking there wasn’t much there to explore. You have opened my eyes to some spectacular adventures to add to our upcoming multi-month adventure to Oregon. Well done!
Depends on what you wanna do, lots of outdoor stuff for sure, I personally like it for the off road trails, waterfalls and lake near by. Shame what the fires did to some of the surrounding area.
I grew up and lived in Redding for a long time, thank you guys for doing a wonderful job showing off some of the awesome things Redding has to offer! I love you shared the history as well, it's an interesting and important part of the story! This video is only a taste of all the amazing cool places you go in the area!
Just don't visit during the summer heat which can be expected to get to the highs of 118+ temps. It was 114 yesterday and it's expected to get 113 today. And August is Our Hottest Month. "Come here on Vacation, Leave on Probation, Come back on Violation" Shasta County for ya! aka "Shaft U County"
Not gonna lie, this was so much fun to watch. As a local I want sure what to expect, when you see something everyday it’s easy to forget what is really around you. You have inspired me and my husband to get out and explore our home again. There’s so much beauty here. Thank you for a great reminder of how awesome Redding is.
That’s awesome to hear! We’ve gotten so many comments from people whining about the issues of the town (spoiler alert: every town has issues) when there is so much beauty and amazing things about the city and area. We’re glad we could respark some interest in you for the area! Thanks and thanks for watching!
You two just keep getting better and better at filming and editing these videos! I am definitely going to check out Redding when I’m up that way this summer. I love how you guys give information about pricing of camp sites, parking, and parks, it really helps out a lot when planning a trip. Not to mention the food recommendations, those may be the best part 🤣
We just watched your Redding videos and loved them. We have lived in Redding for the last 16 years and love it here, but sometimes forget how blessed we are, so thank you for reminding us. 😊
Born and raised in Redding CA and this video made me smile from ear to ear! Really made me appreciate living here and excited to get outdoors. Sadly the Carr fire took a lot of our beautiful trees but I’m happy that you still found beauty in the mountains and all of the new greenery! Glad I stumbled across this video and found your channel! Glad you enjoyed your stay 😊
I lived here more than a decade ago and this brought back so many memories. Thanks for sharing! It's also crazy to see how many trees have died. I remember hearing about the fire and being quite strongly affected by it
As someone who was raised for 21 years in Redding (now 22 in Arizona) I want to thank you for showing off all the beautiful areas that our beautiful town has to offer! Man this video made me home sick😔
I also grew up in Redding and lived 5 minutes from Whiskey Town....so many great memories! I miss the views in Redding of the mountains so much. I live in flat Chico nowadays...
I live in Redding and it’s crazy to see people visit there and love it so much 😂it’s great but I’m so used to it/ I’ve gone everywhere you guys have gone so many times . I actually love riding my bike to the dam ! And the car fire was crazy 😬😬
I grew up in the Redding area and it is absolutely beautiful. If you plan on visiting in the summer, just be prepared for the heat. It is 105-110 degrees on a regular basis there.
Ha! Everyone we spoke with during last week’s visit told us that it’s hot there in the summer, I’m thinking, “How hot can it be? I’m from north LA County which is brown and arid.” I kept checking the temps at home and it was consistently 10 degrees lower. It may be warmer in Redding during the summer months but the terrain is much greener and the sky is much bluer than the LA area. Best of all: I saw a bald eagle in the wild for the first time in my life when we visited Burney Falls! Bucket list item marked complete.
I currently live in Redding. But any time I see videos of places I have lived in I love it because it’s cool seeing others enjoy the outdoors like I do
So BEAUTIFUL!! I loved how peaceful the area was . I enjoyed the amazing waterfalls. I loved seeing you guys get the Kayak out on the lake 💙 There were so many amazing things about this video ❤❤
Very nicely done. We've lived in Redding for 25+ years now and just love it up here. Used to be even more spectacular before the fires of the last decade. So glad you got to experience Yaks on the 5. That Garlic Obsession (with bun) is our all-time favorite burger. Cheers
im a redding local and i love it here, my house burnt down in the carr firse but i still love redding. im such a outdoor person and love fishig mountian bikeing and so much more. thank you guys for visiting.
Welcome to our town and county. It's such a special place. You only hit a few of the wonders we have here. Thanks for coming through and sharing the love we have for our little slice of heaven. Next time bring some rain with you though! Safe and fun travels for you both!
I am so so glad I found your channel. You have such a high quality channel with everything from the gorgeous cinematography that blows me away every time, the history and fun facts of the places you visit, and the fact you guys take the time to reply to your viewers. I’m just a huge fan of you guys. Never stop!!!
Thanks for visiting Redding! I'm a current resident of Redding and yes there are many many beautiful things to see - and Taste and See (so delicious!!!) in the area!
Include Mt Shasta & Siskiyou Lake, along w/ Lassen NP! Make sure to stop at Yaks to eat in Dunsmuir . If you go up 101 side, check out Redwood Natl & State Parks, Avenue of the Giants, by Eureka... west of Redding. Have a great trip!
Thank you guys for showing off the natural beauty here in Redding. It's so great to see people come thru our town and enjoy what it has to offer. Your video was great and fun to watch. Hope you have a safe and fun journey. Take care and come back any time.
Ahhh I live in Redding!! I moved here 5 years ago and it’s been the most peace filled, beautiful place to be. This was on my recommended, and I’m so glad you guys got to experience so much of Redding! Yaks and Theory are MUST HAVES, and Burney falls is one of my favorite places of all time. Thanks for visiting our city!
I’m from Redding as well and was surprised to see this in my recommended and decided to watch. You guys did a really good job capturing the beauty of Redding. Love it!!
Want to send a BIG thank you to Adventures of A+K for showcasing Redding. It is truly my favorite place and the entire area is heavenly. Job well done on this video and maybe one day you will come back and do more stuff that you didn't have time for this time.
As a long time resident of lake California, a small town just to the south of Redding, this was awesome seeing the places I grew up exploring! The fishing in this area is absolutely amazing, with famous spots like the barge hole, battle creek, cottonwood creek, all of the lakes, it's a wonderful spot! They just also made a huge expansion to the Caldwell park skate and bike park! It was a 6.4 million dollar expansion, and it looks great!
It’s so cool to see what others think of my hometown, we never really experience true tourism here. Thanks for showing the world what we have to offer. And yes, there is no better ice cream than taste and see ice cream 😁
Love the “hidden gems”. Getting more and more important to find and highlight those with all the overcrowding happening at the popular spots. Really well done vid!
Loved the Sundial Bridge and Burney Falls....most beautiful waterfalls that you have shown us! The cinnamon roll at Theory was huge especially since it was gluten free!
Those. Waterfalls. Whoa. So pretty. And the scenery on the bike trail. But really- just as pretty is Kona’s sweet face when you gave her that treat. ❤ 🐾 Another awesome video. Thanks!
I'm a local! That's so awesome you got to explore our area, I feel it goes unnoticed quite a lot!! And the Burney area is where I grew up, def a hidden gem!!!!
It’s nice to see something positive from this place if you live here you know it’s a little different then the video but still glad to see such positive vibes
I’m always excited to see your new videos. We visited Redding and Shasta four summers ago and really liked it. We stayed near Whiskey Lake and always talk about going back. You’ve given me more motivation to make that happen.
❤️❤️❤️!!! I got to see a lot of these sights last summer on my PCT adventure! Burney Falls is definitely one of my favorite waterfalls ever. It is amazing! Wow, the food from Yaks looked sooooo good. Gotta go there some day. I am very much looking forward to your Lassen NP video. Thanks so much! Safe travels.
Yet again AMAZING!!!! I have to say I get very excited when I get the notification that you have released another video. It just makes my day and I agree, I love going off the beaten path!!!
Wow Redding looks so cool! Definitely underrated. Loved the Sundial Bridge and the eBikes! How unique!! We only drove through there to go to Lassen last summer. Too bad we didn't stop longer!! Another wonderful video!!
The turtle bay area where the bridge is, is a pretty cool area in general. Gardens they theme during different times of the year and some cool stuff inside as well (some exhibits change as well depending on what they have rolling in)
You guys deserved that ice cream after that hike! Thanks for giving our town a great review! If you love nature, you can’t miss! You guys are cool! I subscribed.
Fun video to watch. I’m in Redding now showing my in-laws this video. Fun to see a video of a place we go to a number of times a year and doing the things that we enjoy. Great job!!
Great video. Cant say Redding is a place I had thought about visiting before. But now maybe would look into it. It is certainly drivable from where I live in Idaho. Can't wait to see your Oregon coast videos soon.
So glad y’all shared this adventure. We did the whole west coast of California all the way down looks like we missed out on some of the east side of California. We did the redwoods and US 1 and drove the car under 2 redwood trees. Pretty cool. Y’all enjoy. Can’t wait till y’all make to to Alaska it was amazing out there.
@@AdventuresofAplusK yeah there is 2 trees we found that we took pics going under. Wasn’t sure if y’all have hit them up or not just started following y’all about 8 months ago
Your skills as videographers just get more and more impressive. The scenery, the educational content, the amazing editing work, the incorporation of music - it all comes together in perfect harmony. I started off watching your Utah videos from last year because I'm heading there there later this year, but now I'm all in for whatever content you produce (and slowly catching up on older content as time allows). I wish you two future UA-cam success. As more people discover how well put together your videos are, I hope you enjoy huge growth in your channel. Also, I hope your van mishap wasn't too much of a problem!
Thank you SO much for the kind words Michael! It really means a ton to us and helps keep us going when we feel a bit overwhelmed with it all. We hope you have a great time in Utah and we hope that our videos can help you plan some future trips!
Great video! Wow those waterfalls was beautiful! I’ve got my oldest son watching your videos and he likes them too! I told him to put those waterfalls on our list when we visit CA
Wow, I wasn’t too familiar with this area of Cali - beautiful! So fun being an OG follower and watching you guys grow - almost 100k subscribers, yay!! So happy for you guys!
Awesome, beautiful and yuuuuumy! Those falls were breathtaking…those jagged mountains so cool…the ebikes looked like so much fun! ALL the food and coffee drinks looked SO delicious! I gained a couple of pounds just seeing the cinnamon roll, croissant, burgers, those TATORS 😋, the Buddha bowls and THAT ice cream! OMGosh!!!!! Another great vlog and loved the middle school dance moves. Don’t ever stop!
Love my hometown of Redding. Lived here my entire life. And also, my family of generations are from here. We are part of the local tribe. I love my Redding except for the summers. They can get pretty brutal (hot, range from 100-120. 120 is pretty rare though) and fires are pretty bad up here too. But I love our surroundings. As a local, its hard to see the beauty of everything when we see it every day. But its still a pleasure to go for drives around the mountain areas. and can i just say, i appreciate you calling the crags the right way. alot of people want to say craigs but there is no i in the name. so, thank you!!
We loved Redding. We can see how the summer can be super hot, but at least you’ve got all the other months to really enjoy the nature! And we understand being spoiled and taking it for granted. Thanks for watching!
Fantastic content! After watching your video we took a mini vacation to Redding and visited the majority of the eateries and points of interested that you both highlighted. The recreational opportunities in and around Redding are boundless....I get why folks want to live there.
Oh wow! That makes us feel so good to know we helped and provided value! There is so much to see, eat and do in the Redding area. We’re so glad we got to go
My sister lives in Redding, great nor cal town, boy does it get HOT there 🔥 (sadly so many fires in the last couple years) but it's a great town where you get the nature 🌲 and still get that California feeling. 🌴
Been in Redding my whole life. If you had a chance for touring every major landmark, it would take you many many videos to show. So many great falls, trails, and hidden gems.
When we moved from Oklahoma to Redding and all that's here, I told my folks we'd moved to vacationland. I've been thrilled with this area for over 40 yrs, as we raised our 3 children and are now empty-nested!! More time now for us to explore so very much!!!!! Great video!!!! You did us justice!
We have arrived in Redding!!! So excited to try out these spots!!! Harry ⚡️is loving the trees!!! Compared to San Antonio…this is a jungle. First up….coffee!!!
That crunch was so loud our boat neighbor peered out to see what the ruckus was about. Redding looked incredible! Definitely, on our USA Roadtrip Bucketlist. Look at you guys with your boat knowledge thinking about wind direction and protection. You're getting ready for boat life.
This is awesome, thanks a bunch! I researched moving from booming Phoenix / CA to a smaller yet still warm / hot lol area, and Redding has four seasons. The visuals are lovely and inviting!

Redding has evolved. They failed to mention the three breweries within a few hundred yards of the of the coffee shop.
Ikr it's kinda awesome!

We love to share the hidden gems too! Gotta spread out the crowds and share all the other natural beauty that’s out there! Thanks, Nate!
all these places will be packed. lol these “hidden gems” are not so hidden during the warmer months
For most people in the US, this area is a hidden gem and is not very well known. We know the locals love these spots, as they should, they are great!
As someone who lives and grew up here, glad someone else sees the beauty of this place!
We had a fantastic time there and can’t wait to return!
Fantastic work thanks for all your hard work and probably a few headaches ....thank you!!!!
Thanks, Chris!
Loved the Sundial Bridge and Burney Falls....most beautiful waterfalls that you have shown us! The cinnamon roll at Theory was huge especially since it was gluten free!
It might be the most beautiful falls we’ve seen! And that cinnamon roll was what dreams are made of!
Those. Waterfalls. Whoa. So pretty. And the scenery on the bike trail. But really- just as pretty is Kona’s sweet face when you gave her that treat. ❤ 🐾 Another awesome video. Thanks!
Kona is a sweetie pie! Thanks and thanks for watching! 💗
I'm a local! That's so awesome you got to explore our area, I feel it goes unnoticed quite a lot!! And the Burney area is where I grew up, def a hidden gem!!!!
We love sharing places that sometimes go unnoticed or are underrated! Thanks for watching!
Love that you bring us to places we’ve never heard of, the bike ride was amazing as well as the kayaking! The food…WOW! Great video guys! ~Cara 😊
Thank you! We love showcasing lesser known places!
It’s nice to see something positive from this place if you live here you know it’s a little different then the video but still glad to see such positive vibes
Thanks for watching!
You guys are a gem too❤️❤️
Thanks!
Love, Love your videos and enthusiasm for travel. Gorgeous photography and fun information. Can't wait to see more! So glad I discovered your channel.
Thank you so much, Melinda! We’re glad you found us too! 😀❤️
So enjoying your adventures !!! Thank you for another amazing video that I candy live vicariously through. Great editing!!!
Thank you, J P!
I’m always excited to see your new videos. We visited Redding and Shasta four summers ago and really liked it. We stayed near Whiskey Lake and always talk about going back. You’ve given me more motivation to make that happen.
Wow you must’ve visited before the Carr fire. We would’ve loved to have seen it before. Thanks for watching!
Oh that’s very cool! We’d love to do a good chunk of the PCT someday. Yaks was outrageous and Lassen was a ton of fun too! Thanks for watching!
I'm from Redding I never would have thought this would actually be a site to see to people like you
Mountains, rivers, lakes, tons of hiking, good food, coffee, and ice cream. Those are our favorite things!
Yet again AMAZING!!!! I have to say I get very excited when I get the notification that you have released another video. It just makes my day and I agree, I love going off the beaten path!!!
Thank you so much, Susan! And thanks for watching! We’re glad we can be a bright spot!
Gardens they theme during different times of the year and some cool stuff inside as well (some exhibits change as well depending on what they have rolling in)
Thanks, Chris! Redding is definitely worth a trip!
I live there it is such a good city!
Cool fact about the sundial Bridge for the people who didn't know, At night the bridge glows with different colors every other night!
That would be awesome to see!
Great job!!
Oh yes that is fun! Thanks for sharing us and watching! ❤️💙
Great video. Cant say Redding is a place I had thought about visiting before. But now maybe would look into it. It is certainly drivable from where I live in Idaho. Can't wait to see your Oregon coast videos soon.
The area has a ton to offer!
Thank you for doing our little city a great service with this video. 👍
Our pleasure! Thanks for watching! 🤙
Driving under the trees is so cool, huh?! That sounds like an epic trip! We’re excited for Alaska too! Getting closer!
Thanks for watching!
@@AdventuresofAplusK yeah there is 2 trees we found that we took pics going under. Wasn’t sure if y’all have hit them up or not just started following y’all about 8 months ago
Loved this! Thanks for posting!! Need me a vacay soon!!
Thank you for capturing our home so well!
❤️❤️
They have to be on your list! Thanks for watching!
Well done, nice to partner with Redding. You showcased a great looking area and yummy food.
We had a fantastic time! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for introducing me to the town of Redding! Will have to check it out when we go visit Lassen!
It’s a must visit! There is tons to do, see, and eat!
Wow, I wasn’t too familiar with this area of Cali - beautiful! So fun being an OG follower and watching you guys grow - almost 100k subscribers, yay!! So happy for you guys!
Thank you so much for sticking around this long! We wouldn’t be where we are today without the support!
There was so much delicious food and scenery in this video 😍 we’ll never stop 💃🕺
We loved our time there and are excited to return one day!
@@AdventuresofAplusK Great 😀
I lived in Redding for 20 years. Now I am homesick 😉😉
❤️💙
Redding is such a hidden gem! It's so beautiful up there
It sure is!
Hey my home town!! I love living in Redding. I'm so happy you enjoyed your visit!!
We had a great time! Thanks for watching!
I live in Redding CA and so glad y'all got to see it
❤️💙
Been in Redding my whole life. If you had a chance for touring every major landmark, it would take you many many videos to show. So many great falls, trails, and hidden gems.
There is so much to do there!
As long as you stay away during the summer it’s a pretty beautiful place
I used to live in Red bluff and I love spending time in Redding! Whiskey town is a great town plus the lake!
There is so much beauty to see out there!
Wahoo! Get out there and explore! Thank you and thanks for watching!
LOL, we laughed out loud at this comment!!! And we have learned about boat life from the best! 💕
This is awesome, thanks a bunch! I researched moving from booming Phoenix / CA to a smaller yet still warm / hot lol area, and Redding has four seasons. The visuals are lovely and inviting!
Redding is an amazing place! Thanks for watching!
Great time of year to visit the area! I lived south of Redding for years. Summers are brutal!
You did my city proud! And yes…YAKS 🥰😋🤗
Thank you! We had a great time and are still dreaming of YAKS!
California Dreaming 🌴🌴
Wow! Redding now on my bucket list for sure!!
It belongs there!
Did not know this town even existed…..thank you for bringing this area of CA to my attention!!!
We’re glad we could open your eyes to it. Thanks for watching!
I went here last year and was amazed. Redding is central and you can get to many beautiful spots. I love this vlog!!
It is the perfect location to explore the area! Sooo much to see within 1-1.5 hours driving!
I live in Redding. My grandfather and great uncle were two of the thousands that helped build Shasta dam
Wow how cool! Thanks for watching!
redding is pretty awesome, and i've lived here my whole life. glad you enjoyed it!!
We had a fantastic time!
Lassen Park is definitely worth the visit. Hiking Lassen is the best part with great views
We loved our time at Lassen!
