What a pleasure to see someone who really knows what they're doing, instead of all this "We just bought a boat and we don't know what we're doing" tosh that UA-cam seems determined to send me, no matter how many of them I ignore!
This is a masterclass in seamanship: solo roll tacking among moored craft, weight shifting, threading a way among shifting shoals, efficient trimming of the sails … thank you! (From a former Enterprise sailing Bournemouth and Poole boy, now sailing Flying Scots at SCOW, south of DC, USA.)
Totally agree with the masterclass in seamanship, made it look like you were sailing a little optimist dinghy. A very enjoyable video Mathew, thanks for sharing 👍.
A beautiful day for a sail. We don't seem to have had many of those this year. I've sailed in Brancaster Harbour once about 5 years. Must go back there, it's such a lovely location.
Another brilliant video, Matthew! After years visiting the N Norfolk coast, invariably at mid/low tide (!), I finally saw Brancaster Harbor at a mid-summer high spring tide, with the sun setting towards the North over the sea, and was blown away by the beauty of it all. Another world. I must get my boat up there when she's finished (last plank going on as we speak).
Lovely to watch, a great area to sail in. I have now watched this film several times as a try to figure out how the boat is rigged. I can't help wondering if it might be possible to create a stern tank and remove the side tanks in my Albacore to make the interior resemble your Wayfarers? Best wishes Al
Hi, Thanks for the nice comment. I wouldn't make such a radical alteration to your Albacore, tempting though it is to gain more space. You have to console yourself that your boat is somewhat easier to maneuver when out of the water than a Wayfarer!
@@bigbadthesailor5173 I can see that, but my cunning plan is to have a Wayfarer layout in an Albacore and it be lighter and easier to get through the water. Which is what attracted me to the class in the first place.
Inspirational! From a 58 yr old Wanderer sailor near Poole Harbour. I haven’t sailed since my heart attack in 2012, but it’s still in the drive. You’ve brought back great memories! 🤩🤩 10:59

Wow! Thanks Jeremy. Praise indeed - I have been doing it a long time though.....

I love Brancaster. Sailed there since 1985. Spring and autumn are my favourite times of year.
Adept sailing, sir! Greetings from NYC!
Thank you

the best known method of ending up with a boat like a wayfarer is to buy a wayfarer!
