We take about 8 hours from Hull. We leave Hull just after high tide at Hull, and aim to be outside Wells 2 hrs before the next high tide. Entry into Wells is +- 2hrs high tide. And high tide Wells is only about 20mins after hulls, so to do it on the same tide you have to leave at first pen out Hull and punch against it all the way down the Humber plus run fast. We run it at about 8knts and use very little fuel.
I went swimming a few years on a visit my mother I walked into the then it dropped away suddenly for channel and current was shockingly strong when got out I spoke to Police Rib on the shore and we’re there for that reason a number of people as part of a religious festival in the water and have since it has been dredged been swept out as sudden current catches people out and can agree it does..
This video is really nice.. I just love it 😍😍😍
Many thanks
Superb sands at Wells and because water has come over warm sands water is a bit warmer..
Yes really loved our visit, hopefully will get back this year.
Great video. How long did this take you ? And do you have to hit wells at high tide ?
Thank you
Eddie

There is a good video on Keep Turning Left by Dylan Winter showing the back way with mast down from Wells right to Blakeney thru the salt marshes..
Yes I watched that video sometime ago, I like his meanderings.
Lots of Windfarm Service Boats I the outer man made dredged harbour
Very strong currents where dredged..
Fully agree

@@chrismccartney8668 yes it does fall away quickly. We were surprised how close to the beach we were when we first entered.
Most unique harbour entry?
Quite unique, there are others similar.
@@MyAvaGrace anywhere else where you can do a drive by on a beach?
@@basement_block_head4880 not that I've been to.
great film, but we can`t hear you half the time.
Sorry about that, we have improved our audio equipment and software since this was filmed.
You just need a professional drone operator to capture some amazing aerial footage - do you know anyone who can do this ?
hmmm, now let me think. could it be Sky something or other.
