    SInce I cut back on the fat and upped the protein, my weight is slowly going down and so is my glucose levels. I saw 70's on my CGM, which makes me smile. Thank you for your guidance and information on breaking weight loss stalls...haven't lost a lb in almost 5 years so this is huge to lose almost 10 lbs in 6 weeks.

    I've lost 25 lbs. since June 125h, and 3 inches in my waist. Started with conventional keto for a week, including 18-hour IF and one 42 hour fast. Been doing PSMF since June 20th, eating 3 or 4 meals a day, with an eating window of 12 or 1 hours. Broke through a stall of being stuck at 190 lbs. (177.8 this morning). Much stronger and faster. Include a couple of overfeeding days per week.

      That is great but note we do not recommend fasting over 24 hours. :)

    I wonder why it's not ideal to eat like this every day, I've always enjoyed the Keto diet but refuse to eat all that fat, I never thought that was healthy, I'm so happy someone figured that out and I'm not alone, finally! I just discovered you and I'm blown away

      You still need fat, the minimum for hormones is 30-40 grams a day. :)

    Hi I’m in need of some effective advice. I have 2 small kids and I’m constantly stressed. I don’t remember the last time I got a great night’s sleep and I’m now feeling as though I’m always triggered. I have been trying the low fat version of keto for a few months but I have had a lot of cheat meals in between too. Plz help me with stress relief. PS. I have a family history of hypothyroidism and diabetes

    I find the lower fat. 30 grams and higher protein based on your calculator is perfect for me. Meat sweats almost gone. Gerd gone working on removing coffee and cream 😅

    Thoughts on levothyroxine vs dessicated thyroid? Hashimoto's and levothyroxine x 30yrs. Seeing a new endocrine doc next week. What's the argument to change to dessicated thyroid?

      Depends on the person and how its working. Desiccated thyroid is more natural and can work better for some people. :)

    My question about which cookbook to buy first. I've reached my goal weight but still have tummy fat. I've gotten off insulin for type 2 diabetes but still having the dawn effect in the area of 130.

      A protein-sparing modified fast (PSMF) is a way to reduce carbs and fat as much as possible while still hitting your protein goal or even getting a bit more protein than your target. The additional protein makes your body use even more stored fat for fuel, helps break stalls or accelerate weight loss and healing. It is something we typically have clients do a couple days a week. Then regular keto eating the other days
      So this is basically a fast day because 100g of protein is only 400 calories. You get the benefits of longer fasts without the negatives (loss of lean mass). mariamindbodyhealth.com/protein-sparing-modified-fasts/ :)

    What does evening primrose oil do post menopause?

      It helps the body absorb the progest cream and helps with progesterone balance. :)

    Should you recalculate macros after a certain weight loss or continue with the same calculation until desired weight

    maria I just love you guys! But would keto help with my very bad inbetween thigh loose skin?Am scared that keto would actually worsen my loose skin...what do you think please cos I could never do skin reduction surgery 😢

    On a keto diet do you become functionally insulin resistant? If so do the post Prandiial insulin tests become abnormal?

      No, not in the traditional sense of insulin resistance. There is something called adaptive glucose sparing where your body is very efficient at burning fat for its primary fuel source so there is more glucose left around. And if you suddenly dump a large load of glucose (like a glucose tolerance test) then it will be exaggerated. You can either look at a better test (like insulin or A1c) or add more carbs for 2-3 days before the test and you will show normal. :)

      If it fits in the macros and does not take you over on fat, yes. :)
