Not so many years ago, I worked in the production line of making RV's, most of them with slides. Your problem with jumping the teeth or track is pretty common when the RV isn't perfectly level and... (and I'm going to stress the word *AND*!) there's no torsion, twisting or stress in the body of the RV when parked. The longer the slideout, the easier is it to bind up. Leveling blocks & leveler bubbles help, but it's so hard to NOT see twisting or torsion. It's just physics at work!
By putting bushings behind that bracket it forces it down further into the teeth on the sprocket that pulls it in creating a stronger more secure grip, it's probably been too high for some time causing the teeth to just barely grab into the openings in the bracket and eventually slipping off, that also causes additional wear on the bracket. Hopefully it will last a while with the teeth deeper into the bracket allowing a stronger more secure grip.
More stuff to break, like power windows vs roll up.... He's going to have to spend a pile of cash on replacing the motor, tracks, etc... Then it will break after 90 days. Simple is more....
I sorry that you had problem with the slide . I had two R V had those problem with electric step and slide . I went down to a class B and love it no slide no electric steps
Good luck with fixing your slide-out. If anyone can figure it out, you can, Eric. That Bronco is the BEST toy you've ever owned, IMO. Really, really fun watching this video.
Thank you for taking me along to see your life. I enjoyed seeing your inner child come out to play with the truck. What a fine reminder you give to all of us. You reminded me to take good care of my inner child too. What a beautiful campground/campsite and trees. And a beautiful magnet.
You have 189k subscribers!? Wow, I remember when you broke 100K and it was a big deal. I have been watching you and Jax for almost 3 years. It is amazing how many people are watching this channel now. I wonder when it will be 200K. Maybe by August 2019. I hope you continue to make great videos that are must for me.
I have always made it a point to never purchase a RV with slides. (3 Times). It's just another thing that can go wrong. My brother's class A would not start due to a slide sensor telling the "system" the slide was not closed. 600 miles from home, in the wilderness and your rig won't start. Now that's a REAL problem.
@Yar Nunya If a drone can be fitted with a go-pro then that car can be as well. I really don't care how it's done - only suggested that this guy do it. (*_*)
OMG I love that Bronco. You are really good at maneuvering it!!! That looks like so much fun, what a wonderful gift! Be nice to pull that, or a dune buggy behind the RV. So glad you were able to fix the slide. I'd have had them check the other tracks just incase. It's tragic they seem to wear so fast and are problematic. Assuming you can't park your rig at some of your friends or relatives place, maybe some of them could, since you've the room...visit with you for a few days. So glad you're able to make the best in Washington's weather. Take excellent care and have fun👍
If your slides get stuck or seem really tight, pull up all your leveling gear so the rig is on it's tires and try the slides again. Mine will even bind up the walk door when the rear legs are down hard. Try putting your slides out before leveling the RV and they wont bind and strip slide gears. I know it seems backwards, but it works. Get level (as possible) on the tires, put the slides out, then self level.
Not their fault. RV slide systems are not designed for full time living. Usable life expectancy is probably 100 cycles. Plenty for people who go out for 2 trips per year. There are better, more expensive, systems that are used on commercial systems.

I have a Coachman 5th wheel and I had to take the bottom outside off to get to the slide motors. Thats the only thing I have had trouble with Coachman everything is cramped.
That brings back memories. My friend in high school had a black 1980 Bronco. In the summer, we'd take the topper off and cruise all over the place, pick up girls, go to the lake, stuff like that. You could just step on the wheel to climb in the back.
LOL! Love the remote Ford Bronco. Fun watching you drive her around. Great perspective with the recording. Really cool to watch! I'm waiting a a miniature Eric & Jax to open the door and step out. LOL! Glad the slide-out got repaired enough to at least get it working for now. Hopefully in the future it will get fixed correctly. Enjoy the rest & relaxation in the hot tub Eric. Well deserved! Peace & Love! Have a Glamtastic Day! 👍😀🌈🤪🌈😎🌈😍
We stumbled upon that park last Fall on our way to Bend/Sunriver when we had to turn back due to wildfire road closure. What a gem! We loved it the beautiful park and that pool and hot tub were amazing. We wished that we could stay longer and definitely look forward to going back.
Try taking it to a welder and see if he can build the teeth up and a die grinder and smooth them out they may be able to protect the coach and do that and keep you from having to replace the whole track system You and jax have a good day THE GRUMPY BUS
glad the slide issue is at least temporarily remedied. sounds like you can manage that, and skip it back if necessary until you're ready to repair it permanently. i really enjoyed the RC footage, not only was it shot well, but you can drive that thing! looks like it will crawl over just about anything.. i bet it's a lot of fun!
Love the Bronco! As for the slide: One of the many reasons I didn’t want a slide(s) in my camper is all the issues they can have. Hopefully yours holds up well for you
Never had a problem with my slides. Hope I never do! But it's good to know that you can call a mobile repairman in some places. Missed seeing Jax. Stay safe and have fun my friend.
A temporary fix could possibly last a long time, just start saving your loose change for the ultimate repair. I'm glad you are enjoying your investment in TT. The facility looks really nice and the great part is you appear to have it all to yourself. Thank you for sharing.
Honestly, this is the main reason I refuse to get anything with slides! I’m not that good at repairs so I’m preferring something simple to fix! Hugs and here’s hoping the next week is better!
I have 26 foot class c no slides I carry my scooter on the back with a motorcycle carrier. I like being less complicated and short and nimble makes life easy. The e450 chassis with v10 on my 26 footer gave me 4200 pounds of cargo carrying capacity and a 7500 pound tow capacity.
I know there are many opinions on this subject (like tire brands) but I always followed the rule that gas powered class A coaches should only operate slides (in or out) on near level ground with leveling jacks retracted. This is due to the inherent flex in the frame of the chassis on a lower GVWR gas engine coach. With a heavier framed diesel powered coach this is not really an issue. I see you had your jacks extended while the mechanic was working on Miranda. Had you already tried operating the slide with the jacks retracted? Just interested. I owned a used RV dealership for 7 years and bought/sold many class A coaches. Both gas and diesel. My advice was always to buy the best quality older diesel coach instead of a newer gas powered rig.
It’s a good thing your mobile RV mechanic knew what they were doing. Today I literally saw a mobile mechanic drop a giant slide from a fifth wheel on the ground and crush a picnic table...just before a heavy downpour. To make matters worse the owner said his truck was towed away the day before to an offsite mechanic. When it rains, it pours....
Hey Eric. That styles of system on the slide is made to break. Do you know how a sizzor jack works? The spiral screw works better than teeth. I don't know if u want to flip the bill to have a custom mechanism installed. just a thought.
Eric if you know anyone that welds you can build up that gear rail top and very strong take those shims out because it takes the square out of the slide it will leak. Good luck!👍
I've heard avoid slide outs. They are drafty, and they break. Love your little tv Bronco. I own a k5 blazer and it would be neat to have a little one like that
So glad you were able to get the slide fixed and know what is involved now for a complete repair. Really like Oregon magnet. The hot tub looks fab. Frugal Filmmakers would love that footage of the little truck. xx
Wondering if the slide box itself os not square/plumb. Perhaps due to a previous accident, or severe flexing. At least you know the issue. Wonder if it’s because full timing puts more in/out cycles than the weekend warrior use case. Listen up designers! Can’t replace one rail? No access? Engineered obsolescence or bad design. Coachman fail 👎. Is Jax OK?
That's why I don't care for slides. They add more room, but are a pain in the a** when they fail. A class c like you've had in the past would work perfectly for me.

We have four slides on our fifth wheel the one that has the bed on it. If we have to bring it in the mattresses and everything have to come off to take the weight off the slide because the last time we brought it in and actually buckled on the outside of the RV.
I was a little surprised to see you buy an RV with slides in the 1st place and now I know what my hesitation was when I saw that rig the 1st time period don't get me wrong it's a gorgeous rate but having no slides is an extra piece of maintenance would just bug me very

That brought back a bad memory for me. We were on our way home from the drag strip, I was laying on the couch on the slide our. It felt like the couch was lifting up. I said something to my husband. I moved to the other couch. We were going down the road and all of a sudden the slide out tipped about a foot and came back in. My husband told the driver he needed to pull over. We checked it out. Everything seemed fine. It never happened again.
That RC Bronco with the lights made it look realistic while in motion. Some of your video footage made it look like a real full size Bronco. Nice and fun hobby : )
So near future repair will be to pop the slid out and replace the tracks/motor assembly before putting the slide back in? Check the other slide also to see if it has any odd patterns.
Eric, a few months ago I met up with actor Tom Kiesche (Clovis from "Breaking Bad") and we had coffee. I shared your UA-cam channel with him. He's a really cool guy. Very tall. And he loves animals. Tom volunteers at an animal rescue here in LA.
Love that Bronco!!!! I used to have the Original Ford Bigfoot rc. And I totally love how you put LED lights in your Bronco! You Rock!!! I hope you make more videos with the Bronco.
I looked into buying a fifth wheel but found a lot of the mechanical parts are built pretty light duty for weight savings obviously . Slides are nice , but would be awesome if they would just build the mechanisms more heavy duty .
Since you bought Miranda you probably used the sliders more than most owners would in the whole time they owned one.I can imagine the RV sitting in someones driveway 90% of the time they own one.
❤ ur video and ❤ my two slideouts 🤞. RV shows are showing new RV's with slides on both sides. Nice, but nothing lasts forever and yes, big inconvenience but it can be fixed. Working on F coil/harness. Allison transmission take notice.
I've never had an RV but I'm going to hazard a guess that with a big, heavy thing being moved on rails/sliders, that once the grease gets old/dry/hard, that the frictioon will increase a lot, and that will hurt the motors/motor mechs. I don't know what the specs are for servicing those rails/bearings of the main weight-bearing parts, but I would think it would help to try and make sure that they are as clean and as lubed-up as good as possible. I expect Lithium grase would do, and it's also available in a spray to get at those harder-to-reach parts. Nice RC car also. :)
Great Bronco action, so cool! Yes a boy and his toys....well this girl might just have to get her an RC car because that looks like so much fun. Thanks for sharing...awesome. Glad you got the slide working.
Great video and great news! I thought Mini Eric was actually driving that Bronco it looked so real!! Only a Miranda RV body on the RC car could have been better!!! Good luck with the slide out, hope it doesn't affect the future sale!!!!.
Coachmen’s the first class A we had and on are first trip, got into Las Vegas 100 degrees air conditioner went out. Coachmen would not let frightliner fix it, so we went to Laughlin traded it off. Would never buy anything from them again. 20 years later we have a Phaeton by Tiffin bought in 2008 new, best company to buy from. Tiffin stands behind its products.
Fun RC Bronco! So realistic, it looked like it was in the land of the giants! Makes me want one too and that’s saying a lot for a 68 yo lady! Glad the mobile mechanic got it road ready until you cab replace the rails. Super nice campground.
Glad you got your slide fixed! I have a Tiffin class a coach with 4 slides and love it no problems... yet , things go wrong no matter how you live when we lived in a house one time our furnace went out and it was 20 below zero out! Ended up needing a new furnace $$$$$ I guess if you back packed and lived in a tent you would have minimal maintenance issues 😀
I can't believe I enjoyed the Bronco..I did. We knew it was accessed underneath, wonder how common a problem it is..the weight balance on the slide? Good video, thanks Eric.👍😎
More electronics, greater chance of leaks, some RVs have one massive slide the whole length which is ridiculous. I will also never own a RV with a slide. Love the RC Bronco! That's bad *ss with the LED light mod.
Very COOL on the lights of your Bronco Eric!!! Your so creative!!! I got an idea, I think with your creativity you should put toy figurines of you in the driver seat & one of Jaxman on the passenger seat, that would look cool!!! Glad your getting slider fixed too, hopefully for long long time!!! LOVES/HUGS to you both!!!!
Never thought much about RC vehicles. However, after your Bronco debut, oh hell yea I gotta get one! I would do it exactly as you have. Rainy day...nothing to do outside... Hold on...its RC Bronco time!

I have seen some people that have slides lubricate their slide each time they put it back in. Might be worth doing.
Adjust those headlights! You're going to blind oncoming RC drivers with those things!
No Jax?!?! You’re fired!!
Not really into RC, but that was fairly neat. I felt confident that you'd have the slide fixed by the time this video posted. Be safe and God bless!
The LED lights looks so cool! :) Well done! Take the cap off when in hot tub etc 🤣🤣🤣☘👍
That Bronco is a BEAST!!! Looks frickin sweet man- so much fun!
Fun RC Bronco! So realistic, it looked like it was in the land of the giants! Makes me want one too and that’s saying a lot for a 68 yo lady! Glad the mobile mechanic got it road ready until you cab replace the rails. Super nice campground.
Previous owner was selling it for some reason. They knew well it was starting to give trouble. Sorry you are having to deal with the headaches.
What did you expect in the Pacific NW, sun and 100 degrees, oops wait no that’s Arizona, you could go back, oops you wanted cool. You got it!
I can't believe I enjoyed the Bronco..I did. We knew it was accessed underneath, wonder how common a problem it is..the weight balance on the slide? Good video, thanks Eric.👍😎
You have to figure out why the slide jumped off the rail tooth (cab side). Something binding or not adjusted right on the cab side rail.
Glad you got the slid out fixed, and it did not rain while they fixed it. The Bronco was really cool.
That's why I don't want slide outs. One MAJOR system to fail. I like a floor plan that works for us without a slide out.
Bronco needs a LED light bar on top and a grille guard??
That rc is gnarly love how real it looks
More electronics, greater chance of leaks, some RVs have one massive slide the whole length which is ridiculous. I will also never own a RV with a slide. Love the RC Bronco! That's bad *ss with the LED light mod.
Very COOL on the lights of your Bronco Eric!!! Your so creative!!! I got an idea, I think with your creativity you should put toy figurines of you in the driver seat & one of Jaxman on the passenger seat, that would look cool!!! Glad your getting slider fixed too, hopefully for long long time!!! LOVES/HUGS to you both!!!!
Nice work on the RV. Good feeling not being stranded with a busted slide-out.
Very cool little RC. Love them Fords.
Soak your worries away...
Best two days of your life are, the day you buy your rv and the day you sell it!
Those RC trucks are great. They come water resistant where most of the others don't. Lots of fun!
Glad you got the slide fixed for now....That is why I don't have slides on mine
When there is lots of rain... Eric pop out the toys... nice man..
Almost looks like a real size Bronco! Now you just need to get the wipers working on it! Good fix on the slide!
Love the Bronco RC Eric.👍🏼 Glad you got to the bottom of the slide-out issue. I hope it holds up for a bit longer. Safe travels. Thank you!👍🏼🤘🏼😎
Good to see it fixed, great mobile mechanics. How long did it take to fix it?
That is so funny! Love that you can play like that, you will have a long life!
LOOKED ALMOST LIKE A FULL SCALE TRUCK WITH YOUR VIDEO , GOOD WORK~
Fun watching your tiny 4x4 take the obstacles
Toys are fun at any age!!!!
Eric couldn't you remove some weight from the slide before you open or close it? like the recliner? IDK.🤔
Never thought much about RC vehicles. However, after your Bronco debut, oh hell yea I gotta get one! I would do it exactly as you have. Rainy day...nothing to do outside... Hold on...its RC Bronco time!
Aliens, yikes! Hope you didn't get "invaded" LOL! This was a fun little trek and the places you visited were fun too!
Is the dealer where you bought the RV responsible for any of the costs of repair? Isn't there any warranty on this item?
Pat Bowman used motorhome, as is where is
@@leoblumhagen644 that's a shame. These repairs can be costly.
