Thank you for the great work. For mentoring under 18 i put players in main team but they are not playing in under 18 match when there is a match in same day even they are not selected for main team this is so annoying and i couldnt find anything to fix it. If anyone know how to fix this its would be great.
There is no a fix for it. Hopefully SI realises this flaw and allows first team players to mentor players in U21s or U18s without moving the kids across. An alternative you can do is bring in someone who is really old and falling apart physically and has no chance of playing football for your team and you can just put them in the U18s or U21s. This person would also ideally have a higher reputation and CA than your U18/21 players but much lower than your first team players so he will then have really low wage demands. One such player is Christopher Bryan. 20 determination. Professional personality. Almost hopeless at football, but a Turks and Caicos international who costs me £425 a week with an expected playing time of Emergency Backup.
Dynamics isn’t on console so would it just be people with good leadership and mentality? I have otamendi with leader as his personality so he should be good right?
I appreciate the effort put into this video. But unless I missed it (if that’s the case I apologize) every guide I find spent a lot of time talking about all things I already know about personality, but nothing as basic as the optimal numbers of players in a mentor group. It’s very tempting to put 5 or more players in, but whenever you make your assistant do it he seems to limit it to 3. It’s driving me nuts that I can’t find the answer.
Sorry Christoffer, I don’t think anyone knows definitively but from my experience I would say 1 mentee is optimal as he isn’t sharing the group with anyone else. I would also think that more mentors the better too, providing they are actually very good at it.
@@LewisH90 No problem! Sometimes I wish SI were a bit more straight forward about explaining their own mechanics. Thanks for the quick response though! I found a Zealand video where he said the more mentees the more watered down the mentors advice becomes, which makes sense. But still the min maxer in me would love to know when that is. Haven’t thought about several mentors in a group, I’ll try that out thanks.
I was wondering if it is not better to let the youth players train in their youth teams that have maxed out youth development trainers, adjusted training plans etc. instead of pulling them up to the 1st team just for mentoring?
If they’re personality is fine then absolutely but if they have a bad personality, all the coaches, facilities and training in the world won’t matter mate.
How do you keep youngsters personality unchanged? I had loads of model citizen/ perfectionist young players changing to fairly professional or a worse personality. I think they have to be isolated with the best personalities but then u miss out on leaders mentoring others
Yeah that happens a lot, it’s usually the team as a whole bringing them down slightly as those personalities are almost perfect. Keep bringing in good personalities and shifting on the bad ones. As they get older they should recover and go back to model citizen etc.
Great Vid. I have a question it's not really mentoring related but more training, in my formation I have someone who is left sided but can sort of do a job on the right so I'm currently playing him on the right to get fully adaptable to both. The right side is winger on attack so on individual training where it says playing position AM (R) do I have to change that to winger AT or is the player learning the attributes in that position as I'm playing him there so I can leave it as AM (R) playing position. Thank you for any help and keep up the fantastic content 🙂
One doubt Mid season first team generally play 2 games a week it means there training will be less this can affect under 18 player growth too? Because they are training less.
Yes it does mean the U18’s will train a little bit less but at the end of the season it’s fine to not have really intense training. If they are being mentored I would just leave it. If not maybe demote then again to increase the training workload.

First 10 minutes were basics. As of the 12th minute it became useful for me. Cheers

Yes they will train the attributes of the role you’re using so no need to change it.
One doubt

@@LewisH90 that's cool
What if I want only one player to mentor another one, without creating mentoring group?
You can’t do that anymore mate, they took it out a few FM’s back.
gonna need tons of mentoring for Ihattaren 😂, he was arrested recently. Good video as always!
Hahaha what’s he done? Thank you!
