Apologies if you notice a slight decrease in the actual video quality. My PC and Premiere Pro didn't get along when trying to render the video, so to stop it from failing every time, I had to render it out at a lower bit rate. Maybe you don't notice anything and maybe I'm overthinking, but if you did notice, now you know why! Hope you all had a good holiday period and a happy new year!
Hey Tom I have a proposed idea. Dunno if you've done it before or if it's possible. (I'm not smart enough to do it myself) Would you be able to make an FM save with The US leagues, including in it promotions and relegation. Seperating feeder club (making them independent) from there mls parent club. Also get rid of the draft?? Was curious what the league could become if all this happened.
Yes, this video is 3 months old now, but yes, this video (if it doesn't already) absolutely needs a part 2 whereby you go another 30-50 years in the future, post-embargo era, and see if the powerhouses can claw their way back to the summit and topple the current status quo!
Cerro Porteño is one of the most important clubs in Paraguay and the second biggest club there. They always appear in round of 16, quarter finals. Not a huge surprise.
@@michaelduarte2486 Caldense is nuts cause they're an agent team, so with big youth intake clubs under a transfer embargo they should have fewer players to work with? The big teams should be winning everything, really.
I think seeing national coefficients would be pretty interesting. Maybe South American clubs would grow due to the better academy players staying in the country?
13:30 hey Tom, it's actually not "literally everyone else", haha. CD Chaves (placed 15th on the table you were checking) is also currently in the Portuguese Premier Division.
as an eastliegh fan i have always been watching these videos begging that they benefit or even just get mentioned, fair to say winning the champions league is a fair mention
lmao it's fucking bonkers that my hometown Resende team becomes the most dominant team in South America!!! they're currently in the Brazilian 4th tier and in the 2nd tier of the RIo State championship. VERY far away from winning anything meaningful. they do have a youth collaboration/partnership with Lyon though, so that's cool. banger video as always Tom, loved this twist!
Would have been interesting to take a look at the finances of the teams, decade by decade to see which clubs are richer and how does that switch. How do they invest money? They get hundreds of millions in income they cannot spend other than in wages, then as soon as players start to retire, not even in wages. After the first 10 years living off of reputation alone certain teams would have more money than the games mechanics would allow them to keep. Also, lots in tax bills.
Nice video! Keep up the good work. Only thing about this video is I would have liked to see the transfers and the transfer fees of the clubs with the transfer embargo, hopefully a quick part 2?
id like to see a video where all leagues have a massively reduced prize money and TV deal (maybe just 10% of what it is now) would wages come down. would clubs go bankrupt! etc etc should be v interesting
Absolutely mental the state of Croatian First Division, only Dinamo is the member of the "old guard", all the other clubs are Third or Fourth Division local small teams, maybe Opatija a Second Division member is better known but still acting as a feeder club for Rijeka in real life. Mental.
I have a recommendation - If there's a way you can upload your savegame for users to download and explore more thoroughly I think that would be interesting. I'd love to see the talents from around the world.
My gosh I could not recognize the portuguese league, really happy to see that a club from my county has won the UCL (União Lamas) and other 2 were in the league (Oliveirense and S. João de Ver). Could you see more details about it? Länk Vilaverdense winning the Europa League makes sense, they have been bought recently by some rich guys
Hi Tom, could you do an experiment to see if AI will retrain players to more appropriate positions? Such as making a winger with good tackling marking and jumping and see if ai retrains it to CB/FB. Maybe do it for a few positions
Well, when I play my yea old Championship Manager 03-04, I make a shibboleth of defenders always having 12 or above finishing, 13 for midfielders, and 15 for strikers (unless I am bringing on from the reserves). It works, it really, really works!😅

I've seen Resende play a couple of times when I used to live in Rio. I cannot imagine how bad everything else would have to become for them to be South American champions.
2:05 - Fairly normal, Crewe academy prob pulling them up, Luton a bit odd but plausible... Hang on, HALIFAX in 13th!?! 4:52 - Tom has the same reaction...
Would have been nice to see some of the actual transfers being made since that's how a lot of teams got big. Also funny seeing Chelsea not holding up despite probably being one of the best prospects of this was done irl
I am going to a Resende x Bangu game next 18/01/23 and i expected until there, we dont have a global transfer ban. By the way, Resende is an afilliated club to Lyon!
Missed opportunity to look at some player stats/records. Has a New GOAT been born or not? How good was that Josh Hassel that destroyed the premier league in the last season? Who won the most player awards? What was the biggest transfer fee paid in these past 50 years? Etc. Etc.
Interesting that Palace didn't do better with homegrown talent since their academy has been recently improved to Cat 1. Even before the higher tier they brought through players like Zaha, Wan-Bissaka, Clyne, Mitchell.
Could you do a database save where Homegrown and clubgrown status is jacked up for both league and europe? To maybe 12clubgrown and 12 home grown? Leaves room for one star player... Would the simed ai clubs realize that? Would be a funny database to play...

I tried a real global transfer embargo to all teams on the database, but already found 2 teams that broke it, Derby and Reading on FM 22. I didn't set the appeal date.
Me seeing südtirol there in Europe hell yeah. Tom saying they don't deserve to be there. - get out they are doing well in serie B they will make it eventually
14:19 7 of 10 clubs never play in Croatian First Division in real life 😂 Marsonia and Belišće played just some seasons in elite League.. Dinamo relegated, very interesting...

Given that Halifax has 14 Champions Leagues and 2 Club World Cups, yes, they would grow a lot

That Brazilian club seems to be affiliated with Olympique Lyon based on their club crest, which might have something to do with their massive rise.

Cerro porteño isnt a big surprise, its one of the biggest clubs of south america (debatable) but winning cups inst really put of the normal
In croatian League, every club, except Dinamo are actually from Lower leagues. Thats insane
Curiously enough, Canelas 2010, who have done really well, are known to be the most violent team in the world. They are reaaally aggressive hahaha
Probably Resende topped the charts outside Europe because of its recently improved youth facilities and its partnership with French side Lyon.
