I remember playing organized football as a 13 year old. We lost 6 games straight, shut out 3 of those games. Losing became routine for us so we sort of accepted it. And then something happened. We got a new head coach. This man infused a new energy, had us focus on the basics: blocking and tackling. We became a totally different team. We blocked, we tackled, we believed. We never lost again that season. What a difference the right coach makes... here's to you, coach! Let's go block and tackle

I came to the same conclusion when I decided to finally deal with my PTSD from the military. I solo-traveled for over a year (changed my environment so I had nothing connecting me to my past self), and then brainwashed myself by repeating new beliefs/affirmations every morning like, “I am a calm person.” I changed who I was and actually became a calm person. It definitely works.

I was getting pretty lazy about getting my chores done around the house, so I tied my goals to a habit I already have. So while my coffee is brewing, I'll take the trash out, vacuum, fold clothes or anything else I can do quickly. And since I drink a lot of coffee, I'm able to keep up with my housework 😊

I have pretty good discipline myself. I set long goals and I complete them. When I came to this country I was 23 and I decided what profession I wanted to be and what I needed to do to accomplish that. I painted every day from 23 to 55 years old. Even 5 minutes but I did it everyday. I am a painter. Also I set a goal to graduate from a prestigious US university and I did. I remember crying of happiness walking on the quad looking for my class first day. First two years I went to college and my English was not very good, I had small tapes to recorder every math class I would go home and study the same class with my tapes. This is how I am in all my facets. To buy my house to save money etc. Now I want to write a book about art history topic that I discovered. Life it’s so much fun. 🤩

  • @sgw3612
    @sgw3612 18 днів тому +6

I've never been disciplined enough to finish "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill, but I did get far enough into the book to follow his advice on goal setting. I wrote the specific, measurable goals down. (I put each goal on separate index cards). Along with the goal I described how I was gonna make it happen and when it needed to happen. I read each goal on waking & before bed. 7 of the 8 goals happened.
When I was looking for a car, I made a list of the things I wanted & read it frequently. I quickly found a car with 12/14 things on the list.
When I was looking for a job, I wrote down the lifestyle the job would allow along with job perks. That became my most recent job
    Setting clear intensions works.

Millions of people are striving to improve themselves and to become better human beings, it's personal development, and it's not conforming to the crowd mindset. I like people and I like interacting with people. I will not allow influencers to create adversaries of my fellow man. I look for and find Value in everyone I meet.

May you and Mom find comfort together. The Jews say, "may his memory be a blessing," and I love that. Remembering the good times can help us get through grief, but it is a process. Someone compared it to a home with different rooms. The rooms are the stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. We will not enter one room during the process and never come back. It is usually more a matter of moving from room to room, feeling different ways. It does get easier with time though. We never truly get over the passing of a loved one in my opinion. I am O.K. with that. As long as we don't get so stuck we cannot enjoy life. As for your debt, I love Dave Ramsey's method. Start with your smallest debt... He has videos out there. He is about financial freedom and is very positive about it. One bite at a time friend! Happy New Year!

After so many years of trying to be mindful of my beliefs, just to maintain and reach the goal , I decided to take from a very different angle. Setting goals never did anything for me and maintaining it was such waste of energy. Every time I tried to give it more efforts, two new problems would arise that would make me almost lose my mind.
I have noticed that the belief melts away as soon as I realize the simple truth: they are nothing but thoughts.
And maintaining them, for whatever reason, cost me tremendous amounts of time and energy. So instead of wasting it, I decided just to follow whatever allows me to see the path to my so called goal. I finally transformed my „goal“ into one underlying sentence. And that will be my guide.

My advice would be to first optimise around sleep. Mass gains to be had there and it benefits your ability to conquer everything else.
Food and movement next. Eat real food to fuel your excellence ,and develop a movement practice.
Don't overcomplicate it, people way more unhealthy and fkd up than you have gotten healthier and fitter than you've even imagined.
You can do it. Power to you.

  • @jas_bataille

This really good, accept for one thing : we really have to stray from setting goals based on results, because we can't predict life. Instead, you can make your habits BE the goals : "I'm gonna lose 10 pounds of fat" transforms into "I'm gonna hit the gym 180 days this year" for example. And divide quarterly. 52 meetings to plan, one every week, feels like a lot. Even if you think it by month or week - still feels a lot. But 12-13 meetings within 3 months? That oddly (pun intended) sounds a LOT less stressful to do, and a lot easier to track, doesn't it? I think applying a combination of your method with the S.M.A.R.T method would yield the best results. I also try to set goals this year that are easy enough to achieve that it doesn't feel overwhelming, but challenging enough that it's not boring, while knowing at least some of them are will be fairly easily outperformed - another method successful compagnies use. For example, if I want to meet a friend every week one on one, "what if I miss a week?" come to mind. But if I say "I want to meet or call a friend every week", then I'm likely to call, and potentially meet, more than one friend every week, since calling leads to meeting... and my social circle is much more likely to flourish.

Wow! You have so much to be proud of here! I’m not one of those people that can’t see the big picture and gets angry over things they can’t control. Yoire so impressive that you’ve just given away everything needed to get this done basically for free. 🎉 The only investment the viewers need is their own time and attention to see it. To really see it and hear the embedded commands in this one! It’s so genius! It’s no secret they all love ya back! ❤

"clean your room" was a cheap manipulation tactic called regression, bringing your mind back into childhood mode by saying this parental phrases and making him an "authority figure" without people knowing it, so respectless
cops use it too sometimes when they call to 3, like our parents did
      take care!

Leave the circle and find a new one. Write down what you want from that group eg personal development, spirituality etc and that will direct you where to go e.g. yoga classes, a spiritualist church, running club.

Chase!!! Was thinking of you the other day! Sending you and everyone love!!! I was thinking about that saying “the brighter you shine the more shadows are cast. So don’t mind the shadows and shine anyway!” - I started thinking of mid day. When the sun gets to its highest point. The shadows all shrink and become a minuscule thing. Almost not even noticeable!!! All the more reason to shine brighter! You always share so much. I wanted to share my added thought on that saying I told you a while ago. Thank you again for everything you do!!!
