Great video, but from experience standing starts aren't the best way to compare differences as the launch can affect the result, a better way is a rolling test, say 30-100 or 60-130 and the best way in may opinion is to do the test in one gear, say 2-nd or 3-rd gear (test acceleration between speeds that correspond to rev range 2000 - 2500 rpm to rev limit)
@@VividVisual Аs I understand it, the point of this test is to see if and how much difference there is (in power/ drivability ), and the best way to do it is to minimize the effects of variables like launching, gear shift etc. , you could do it even between say 10-40/50 miles (as this is awd ). Just trying to help as I've bean doing such tests for years on different cars(fwd, rwd, awd, manuals, auto, from 100hp to 600-700hp etc.), and have spent a lot of time trying to get the best and most consistent method. P.S. if the comparison is meant only for 0-60 then you can disregard what I've written, but that is just part of the story when comparing chips/tunes/tuning boxes/power bands etc.
@@joretoGT1 No that makes sense, yeah most people wanted to see the 0-60 runs because of the hype of doing o-60. I could definitely go over some 10-50 rolls though and touch base on that but I was going to do it in an explanation video. Harder to show that rather than explaining what it feels like as your doing it but definitely agree there are some talking points that I could have covered.
Yea I said all cars will have different results but this is to give an idea of the gain differences between the two. You wouldn't be able to use these unless you switched to HKS spark plugs, and then you couldn't go past map 1 unless you started to add intake and exhaust.
What does the car run without these devices? Also any other modifications? I have a Golf R 2017 with a JB4, it made a huge improvement on that car. I also did draggy testing and stock it did around 4.5-4.8 second 0-60 at 13.1 1/4 @105 MPH. With just the JB4 and nothing else it did 4.0 second 0-60 and 12.4 1/4 at 110 MPH. With just a high flow cat DP, bigger inter-cooler, and K&N drop in filter it now does 0-60 in 3.6-3.8 seconds and 11.9 to 12.0 1/4 mile @ 114 MPH. I am very happy with the JB4, I cannot see paying $600 more for a different plug in device with more or less the same results. If anything the JB4 seemed a lot more consistent which is a good indicator for reliability. I don't know this other device or what it might offer for double the price but it doesn't seem to be worth the added cost. The JB4 has been used for years on other platforms and has an excellent reputation for reliability and customer service. Plus they have the blue tooth option where you can log data, read codes, fine tune boost and fuel, and monitor engine parameters.
Stock it's 4.7 0-60 times. I have full bolt on actually plus the piggy back so it throws it about .6 sec quicker. I've seen other stingers with different bolt ons running quicker numbers.
@@VividVisual It would be interesting if you could do a full 1/4 mile run because 0-60 isn't the best indicator of power. Looking at your draggy g force data I can see that the Golf hits a lot harder right off the line, probably the difference of the dual clutch vs torque converter transmission, or maybe you were on a really slippery road/tire? Had it just rained recently? because it looked like the road might have been damp? That can make a big difference in traction, some think that if you have AWD that kind of stuff doesn't matter but it does.

Did the JB4 have the fuel wires connected too on the grey car ? Great video ! You're probably getting heat soak. The 4.1s is interesting though... Would the JB4 have had similar results with the slightly late launch control ? Thank you to your whole team for this video, it's really, really useful !
Yes fuel wires were installed. Didn't know you could get heat soak in cold weather? It could have but I think that's the best run I've pulled with it. Thanks for watching :) Information is all that matters here
You can get heat soak in any weather. Ambient temperature will help cool it down quicker, but you will still get heat soak, especially if you do back to back runs without the correct amount of time to cool the car down.
And then another thing you should have done was since there is such a big price difference. What is the 0-60 time with the e85 on a JB4 and is that still cheaper? Doing all that than it is getting the lap three because right there would be everything you would most likely achieve faster times by far than a lap three by itself and I bet it's cheaper
I would Love to see this compared to a Tork Motorsports ECU Tune Stage 1! Maybe you guys could do a video collaboration or something? Maybe not? Anyways I Love your videos, Great Job! Just picked up my Stinger last week!
Its a couple of guys on UA-cam doing 11.8s and 11.7s with mild bolt ons using just pump gas consistently in the 1/4 mile with the tork ecu tune. A dragy is close but its not a real 1/4 mile imo coming from a 5.0 owner. At the end of the day the ecu flash tune will perform the best had kia put a legit fuel system on the stinger gt they would be putting down m3 numbers the 3.3l tgdi engine is literally a B58 with slightly better engineering what you have is an over engineered block due to it being the first coming out party in your face performance sedan from kia and genesis (g70) just like BMW did with the n55 same engineers just moved to different brand and middle finger to the other germans The rods, crank, heads and block is all top grade aluminum the pistons are quality powdered metal material all good for about 800-900hp at the (crank)

So that 0-60 acceleration was to give perspective on everyday use, not just quarter mile track times. I hear what your saying and hopefully can provide more info as time moves forward!
Heat soak on the second tuner could have been an issue too. But that’s crazy for almost double the price and you get half a second faster launch? Not worth it if you ask me
The Stinger is a big girl that can dance. And unlike the competition who like to designate their cars with letters and numbers. This one has an excellent name. “Honey, lets go out in the Stinger.”⚡️⚡️⚡️👌🏻
0 to 60 is very sensitive to conditions/surface/tires/ Temps. There is just too many confounding factors to measure a tune based on that. A roll race would take care of most of these problems and gives a wider window for comparison. I am disappointed that you do not know this already. If you are into tuning you should be aware of this.
@@truittkeeler you cut the brake signal wire to the ECU, install a switch so you can brake boost. The ecu cuts all power if you press the brake pedal and accelerator at the same time. Appreciate the effort but the testing itself is a little misleading. First many customers do run JB4 map3 on 93 octane, but more to the point the JB4 runs were up hill while the Lap3 runs were down hill. That's going to make a huge difference in the results. At the end of the day both tuning systems have similar tuning potential although the JB4 offers more features, lower cost, easier install, and a wider network of tuning support.
Have them test the 2 products all over again with real time and values. Boost, temperatures, launch/stall time creating heat soak. Test and tune drag strip? Its flat there and can show numbers also. Compare a stock car/tune before installations
@@brockhansen880 Honestly it's pointless both systems can produce the same results, the JB4 has 8 maps including a user programmable map that can be set from stock to maxing out the factory turbos.
When will an average consumer go 30-100 or 60-130?
Are the tunes intended for stock versions of the Stinger? Your car has aftermarket performance parts, so wouldn’t that cause different results?
Yea I said all cars will have different results but this is to give an idea of the gain differences between the two. You wouldn't be able to use these unless you switched to HKS spark plugs, and then you couldn't go past map 1 unless you started to add intake and exhaust.
Awesome man, what app you using?
To record the times? Dragy
Yes , thank you.
@@ericmichel3857 Road was slightly damp for sure and it was cold at the same time. 0-60 test because of real world use, most people aren't doing quarter mile runs on the roads lol
What exhaust setup are you running, that sounds so good.

Did you guys run these tests using an external GPS or the GPS in your phone?
Draggy app
I am just wondering what phone app do you use for 0-60MPH
Very interested in the jb4. Would I be able to get away with the stock intercooler? My current mods are injen intake borla exhaust ark mid pipes.
Stock intercooler is fine unless you’re trying to make a TON of power then you’ll need to upgrade. Map 2 is fine with stock intercooler

Great video, thanks for the street comparison. Both cars look and sound amazing!
At the end of the day the ecu flash tune will perform the best had kia put a legit fuel system on the stinger gt they would be putting down m3 numbers the 3.3l tgdi engine is literally a B58 with slightly better engineering what you have is an over engineered block due to it being the first coming out party in your face performance sedan from kia and genesis (g70) just like BMW did with the n55 same engineers just moved to different brand and middle finger to the other germans
The rods, crank, heads and block is all top grade aluminum the pistons are quality powdered metal material all good for about 800-900hp at the (crank)
Can we see a ecu tune next?
I would love to participate in an ECU tune shooot out against these piggy backs :)
I need a Lap3 Stinger and an ECU tune Stinger to compete against. Spoiler alert: I plan on winning. Lol
@@KatoTheKiaStinger um... dragy times say different :) Oh wait, we don't even have methanol on the AWD car or the RWD car yet and Dragy results are starting to show interesting results.
John Bushbaum so you’re saying you want to fly me out for a race? That’s what I think you’re saying. Lol. I’d fly myself out, but I’m on a budget... new baby and all. I am not a fan of Dragy comparisons, however. I like organized drag races with lights, lasers, and spectators. Ask around... Kato wins car to car and his driver is the best around. That being said, I am honestly interested and excited to see what y’all run at a track with whatever you’ve been doing over there with your Stingers. I’m all about the community. A win for the bee is a win for the hive.
Yea I plan on tuning it soon but not during the winter ;)
What is the App your using on your phone to track the times ?

How can you guys do all this will your warranty still be ok or is it all void??????
I was wondering if that voids the warranty also
Dumbass 👏🏻jb4 👏🏻does 👏🏻not 👏🏻void 👏🏻warranty👏🏻 so sit down
Great video, thank you for the information.
Appreciate you watching!
Probably won’t get a response. But what exhaust is the car running?
They recommend doing a dual oil catch as well. Was this done??
hi I'm thinking in getting JB4 for my stinger every one says its the best.i noticed you're using your phone to set maps etc. did you have to buy the JB4 Wireless Mobile Connect Kit -- in order for the phone to work with jb4?
Is it not a good idea to use a piggyback tune if your car is your EDD? What map can you run the JB4 on with only 91 octane?

So from some comments it looks like JB4 is a pretty good tune then for Stingers?
why arent there flash tunes?
LAP3 is best for the KDM market.
YOU should of 0-120 or 40-120 for the guys that like to do roll race. To squash more doubts on any comparisons.
This is smart! I'll take this into consideration for future videos!
@@VividVisual cool!
I'm a kdm fan so I don't choose any side because of that. I'm stoke that more than one companies are tuning kdm! I don't own any of the newer kdm's. But with all the beef going on I'm really surprised you guys didn't do further test. 0-60 isn't the the only test🤦🏼♂️ and everyone knows that lol. It doesn't prove much. Only acceleration. So many cars/races has been lost at the top end. Get walked down.
I found the test inconclusive. I can't wait for more results. Thank you for taking the time to do this🙏👊
@@philamguambomb This video specifically was aimed toward the average consumer who uses these products for road use. In which case the best real world experience is to go 0-60 because most consumers aren't buying these products to strictly track the car, but to use it as daily driving. So that 0-60 acceleration was to give perspective on everyday use, not just quarter mile track times. I hear what your saying and hopefully can provide more info as time moves forward!

What did you gap your spark plugs to run the Lap3 and JB4?
You were over a 1% downslope on the lap3 pulls and like 4 percent downhill on another lap3 lol...you were a slight uphill on all the jb4 times

What kind of color is your car paint sir? Thanks for the video!!
The paint color Ceramic Silver. Its a stock color.
The Stinger is a big girl that can dance. And unlike the competition who like to designate their cars with letters and numbers. This one has an excellent name. “Honey, lets go out in the Stinger.”⚡️⚡️⚡️👌🏻
93 octane is kind of hit or miss in my area. Are the 91 Octane tunes with supporting mods (intake and full turbo back) going to get solid numbers?
Search up tork motor sports, I believe they do some testing on 91
0 to 60 is very sensitive to conditions/surface/tires/ Temps. There is just too many confounding factors to measure a tune based on that. A roll race would take care of most of these problems and gives a wider window for comparison.
I am disappointed that you do not know this already. If you are into tuning you should be aware of this.
Now time to do the brake mod and see how low that 60’ goes ;)
Plan on trying it ;)
@@VividVisual what mod is that?
@@truittkeeler I believe you cut out a fuse near the ECU or connected to it. You can read about it in the forums
@@truittkeeler you cut the brake signal wire to the ECU, install a switch so you can brake boost. The ecu cuts all power if you press the brake pedal and accelerator at the same time. Makes a big difference in how the car launches, I can consistently get 4 sec 0-60 with brake boosting , 4.2 usually with launch control.
Bro can you provide a link for the exact window guards / vent visors / wind deflectors. Whatever you wanna call it. I love your videos BTW but I need those in my life!!!
where is the Racechip? Racechip vs Lap3 V2 can be really nice Comparision

Doesn't jb4 tunes blows motors after a longer use
stack both tuners...?
On what mods you set your JB4 on?
The results are just a function of the settings on either system. Where the JB4 shines is in its features, app integration, lower cost, easier install, superior tuning support.
I ran both products at the exact same spot going the exact same directly. Nothing is invalid here except the draggy slopes.
