    Have you tried a LAP3 ECU tune? I know you have the TCU tune, I have been looking at getting the ECU/TCU combo from them. Did the TCU tune crisp up the transmission? My shifts have occasionally felt a little sloppy and was hoping the firmer TCU tune would clean that up a little. Do you also have high flow cats/no cats and secondary downpipes and the transmission cooler? LAP 3 recommends all those pieces for the ECU/TCU stage 1.5 and was wondering if they were actually necessary. I already have the K&N typhoon intakes and a borla catback. Not buying the HFC, downpipes, and trans cooler would save me like 2.5k which would be nice lol.

    • @OVRBoosted
      @OVRBoosted  Рік тому +1

      I have not tried the ECU tune. I feel I’m able to run in the 11’s quarter mile and 3’s 0-60mph, so I’m relatively happy with that right now. I feel the jb4 is the safest alternative. I have yet to hear of anyone have engine issues with a jb4.
      I do not have primary or secondary cats, I just have a cat back borla exhaust.
      The Lap3 TCU does make the shifts a little crisper, but it’s not a super noticeable difference from the stock tcu. The biggest difference is the launch capability’s and a tad quicker response when manual shifting. It’s honestly hard to justify their price point. I feel there is way cheaper tcu tunes that will accomplish the same results.

    • @OVRBoosted
      @OVRBoosted  Рік тому +1

      P.S yes, a trans cooler is a great investment. The trans is the weak link on the cars drive train. I know many who have added the cooler and are very happy. It will bring longevity to your transmission as long as you’re not launching the car all the time.

      Do map 2 on 93 Oct I’d say at least a solid 50+ hp. Map 3-4 all you need to do is mix in some e85. I’d suggest around 5 gallons of e85 and the rest 91-93 octane. Upgraded plugs is really the only critical thing. An oil catch can is just for preventative maintenance and cold air intakes sound good and might increase the airflow a touch an exhaust would help slightly as well. I think low 4 second 0-60 is realistic on map 2, however the 0-60 time really boils down to your launch.
