Would love to get it up to 420bhp!
These kias and Hyundai's are very nice cars now. I have a 13 Optima SXL 2.0t with a Lap3 tune and some other mods and it surprises tons of cars. And the interior quality is great too.
The veloster is more fun to drive but the key is more luxurious however the velocity is less expensive and just as fast if not faster stock especially with its weight difference the Hyundai also has a ton of customization options as far as being able to change the suspension and all of that from stock and has a much better exhaust from stock it makes all the popping and turbo noises that you could want a car to make from stock while the stinger sounds like poop stock so with that being said if you're going to dump money into the vehicle then a stinger would not be a bad choice however if you want something that's going to give you all the fun straight from the get going you don't have to dump money into the velosters the better option and it's less expensive
"What is this car?" Good question. Well considering the Audi, BMW, and Bentley designers/engineers that came to Kia, I'd call it a beautiful Frankenstein of some of the best things of those cars.

Owner of GT1 since 2018. Previously had a B8 S4 and A5. The Stinger is a superior car in every aspect especially in one department: RELIABILITY. Love Audis but always had issues with them, from high oil consumption to dual clutch transmission issues.
I also find it very interesting that you like the bolstering, I’m a pretty big guy and I find the seats really comfortable and grips me nicely. It’s surprising to hear they fit you well too.
The only things keeping me from buying a Q50RS are the drive-by-wire steering and the terrible transmission. That car deserves the older beloved G37/370Z steering and a ZF 8-speed auto trans. Like, BADLY.
So question here re quality on Nissan vs Infinity quality. I know Infinity is Nissans premium brand but I've heard so many comments about Nissan's recent quality being pretty well.. shit. If I were to get a new car, the Stinger would absolutely be in my potential buy list. I remember thinking the Kia Cadenza was a way nicer car than people gave it credit for back in the early 10s around the time the Genesis Couple getting attention, and the Stinger takes that to another level.
I swear, I was saying to myself last week that I wish you would review a stinger with mods. Lol. I have this same car except GT2 AWD with a JB4 and Injen intakes. Thanks for this !!
Great review. I owned an Audi S4 B7 (2006) V8 4.2 with an intake mod, and I loved it for years. I was debating between an RS3 or an S5 Sportback, then I tried the KIA. I didn't look back. I went for the KIA, even got rid of my S4 because I just stopped driving it, I preferred the Stinger! Now I'm modding it. Injen intakes, JB4 mod w/ 98+ octane fuel so Map2 & occasionally 3, ventilated brakes, EVC catback system, going to plasti-dip it for a sick look, and might even put a carbon fiber hood on top of it. The funny part? ALL THAT & I saved about 15,000 CAD$ versus the S5. It's such a great car, I thought of keeping it ~3 years, but I'm going to use the extended 7-years warranty to the max. Note: You should write 420 BHP. I.e. the performance gains of the JB4 mod with an intake/exhaust upgrade give the car about 100 HP, almost to 500. That B makes a big, over 15% difference.
Kia is an underrated company now a days, i just got my 2020 forte gt and I'm in love with the interior, exterior, performance, everything! All in a compact 4 cyl car! Can't wait to mod it as well🔥👌🏼
I just got a 2021 GT line AWD and I love this car! It’s fast and comfortable, you can’t hear or feel the transmission it just goes Some people laugh at Kia. But Kia owners are laughing at the rest of the world. Aaaaand it’s backed by a 10year ,100,000 mile power train warranty and my dealership gave me a lifetime powertrain warranty. Have to read the fine print on that. But the Kia stinger is a wonderful car. Especially in awd lol too much fun
When I was little, my parents bought a returned 1998 Kia Sophia... Was a new car then.. And they had it until I'd say 2012. Only ever saw maybe 3 or 4 on the road ever. Although very dangerous, I miss that shitbox lol
Even kias economy cars are surprisingly quick, when i drove my moms Kia Soul i was surprised by how fast it actually gets up and goes for such an average car and the interior is genuinely nice, I think people just hate on what they have never experienced.
I funny enough went from a 2013 genesis coupe 2.0t r-spec to a 22 Stinger GT2 Scorpion Package (Looks so good) . I loved my genesis coupe and my brother drives it not but let me just say... The only thing I miss about the genesis is how it handled turns better and it being a manual. The Stinger is just amazing in every way there is perfectly balanced as I call it "Luxury Family Sports Sedan". Great review and I can't wait until I can mod mine more as well!
I fell in love with the upcoming TLX type-s but the hp numbers are disappointing and I'm sure that car will Crest the $50,000 mark easily. Stinger GT got me thinking.....

My car is literally a rolling BMS billboard, lol. It's recommended to upgrade your plugs to Denso 5346 plugs (1 step colder) when doing the JB4. BMS also has a zero maintenance OCC I highly recommend. Also, since I'm RWD, I'm running their differential brace. It reduces slop and aids traction. Really helps it hook up. This fall I'll be getting the BMS intercooler and WMI kit. Should be close to 500whp by then.
Love my 19’ GT2. Car is a blast to drive and most importantly lives up to the GT name. I do a lot of highway traveling and it makes the miles a breeze.
WHAT'S UP Va!!!! You're my old neighbor, well at least when I was still in NC. I've wanted one from the first time I heard about them. Good work on the upgrade.
I regret not illuminating the tails for the shots. They look more Maserati when lit. The 2021 face lift tails are more Dodge when lit as it lights the entire bar across the hatch. Looks ugly imo.
I test drove one at the kia dealership. One service guy told me the biggest drawback is that the tires wear out quickly. I believe he said you should replace them every 20k miles, and they're about $2k to replace them.
You dont have to buy the michelin pilot sport 4s as replacements. There are cheaper alternatives. But yeah, they're non-rotatable staggered tires, so they will wear out faster. Lots of sporty cars are like that.
The Stinger GT2 is a surprising problem for the Dodge Charger and Challenger RT,Scatpack, and even Hellcat cars. Don't believe so...there are videos showing the proof! A Stinger ran 1 second slower than a 2020 Shelby GT500 in the quarter mile! That is beyond impressive!
I like the fact that stingers are getting more attention. They are really cool cars and they look amazing.
Only thing is theyre overpriced

As you can see in my pic, I went with the Stinger a little over 2 years ago and haven't been disappointed once. I miss my V, but the Stinger is wonderful in it's own way. Zero regrets.
@@LexusLuvAffair it was the first gen Ecoboosts that had issues. They were completely GDI, whereas the second gen is both that and port injected. They also improved the design of the cam timing solenoids and timing chain, and other parts that caused issues with the '09-'13 engines. They were also able to get an additional 10hp and 10 ft lbs of torque out of them, without needing more aggressive tuning.
I've got a buddy who has a stinger almost the EXACT copy of this, similar wheels, same power output, but his is the awd

Weird enough, i’ve only seen a kia stinger once, and it was bone stock, and i’m pretty sure it was not a GT, nobody seems to buy them where i live although they seem like they’re great cars 😬
@@Alid2198 they seem rare in my parts as well, I've only seen one other GT and a handful of "base" ones

I have the G70 3.3T RWD. Bolt ons and JB4. Almost exact to this one. Solid car. Love it. I added the Ark Performance lowering springs and sway bars and it drives rock solid.
I like how David says you don't buy this to full send it all the time. While true, 4 years in, I'm happy to report I'm full sending it, most of the time. lol.
The stingers look great. I’m a truck person but I think I would drive a stinger
I went from GMC half ton to one. It has it's plus and minuses.
In just about every Stinger review the driver has a smile ear-to-ear when he gets on the go pedal. I test drove one and now I know why. That was four days ago and I'm still smiling.
I sat in one in 2019 and havent it forgotten since. Finally test drove one last month because I’m getting ready to buy and it was amazing.

@@niteshb.2515 if you do something stupid and cause you engine failure yes. If you install intakes and you spin a main bearing, no. The aftermarket part has to be proven to cause the failure in order to be denied a warranty claim.
The Stinger is great. I have a friend who has most of the same mods as this car (except carbon hood and upgraded shift paddles), and it is a lot of fun. The Sport mode TC is nice. Even in the AWD version, it'll let you slide just a little bit. Entrance ramps are great.
I love my stinger. I have a rear wheel drive model and it's a lot of fun. What you said about the traction control is bob on. You think you're going to end up sideways and the adrenaline kicks in, but then it rights itself with no serious effort on your part. I love it in sports mode (best mode in my opinion) but if I'm acting my age and I'm going on a run, slap it in eco mode and I've had 40.1 mpg! For my budget, it's the best car I've had. Would love to get it up to 420bhp!
I have a Stinger myself and the one in the video is not a 2019 model, and the development engineer is called Albert Biermann.
I've been saving up for a stinger for a few months. Great value and it looks very exotic.
When a Kia looks more exotic than Maserati's of today's time 😂

Eric Austin Definitely get the stinger.
Fwd vs rear or all
Eassssssy lolol
These kias and Hyundai's are very nice cars now. I have a 13 Optima SXL 2.0t with a Lap3 tune and some other mods and it surprises tons of cars. And the interior quality is great too.
How tf are you even comparing the 2
The veloster is more fun to drive but the key is more luxurious however the velocity is less expensive and just as fast if not faster stock especially with its weight difference the Hyundai also has a ton of customization options as far as being able to change the suspension and all of that from stock and has a much better exhaust from stock it makes all the popping and turbo noises that you could want a car to make from stock while the stinger sounds like poop stock so with that being said if you're going to dump money into the vehicle then a stinger would not be a bad choice however if you want something that's going to give you all the fun straight from the get going you don't have to dump money into the velosters the better option and it's less expensive
I still get excited about driving this car everyday! Own a ceramic silver with red leather interior for over a year now
"What is this car?" Good question. Well considering the Audi, BMW, and Bentley designers/engineers that came to Kia, I'd call it a beautiful Frankenstein of some of the best things of those cars.
Man im glad to see a channel like yours giving kdm performance cars some time on the screen.. i am an owner of a 2019 genesis g70 g70 3.3t rwd and im sincerely in love with the car.. same platform as the stinger but a bit smaller.. bmw 3 series size

I’ve lost my hearing after that intro. Can someone subtitle the engine noises for me

Owner of GT1 since 2018. Previously had a B8 S4 and A5. The Stinger is a superior car in every aspect especially in one department: RELIABILITY. Love Audis but always had issues with them, from high oil consumption to dual clutch transmission issues.
My body took a screenshot when the intro played
I also find it very interesting that you like the bolstering, I’m a pretty big guy and I find the seats really comfortable and grips me nicely. It’s surprising to hear they fit you well too.
I forgot what year it is but when you put them in sport mode the bolstering squeezes you tighter, and as 6”4 230 pounds I fit nicely
I have a JB4 in my 17 Jetta GLI. Love it! And I've been eyeballing a Stinger or Genesis G70 (the more luxurious twin)
The g70 is calling my name. Waiting for a refreshed version to drop so i can get a used one for even cheaper since it'll be an "old" design
Love my 2020 Kia Stinger GT2 AWD. Having come out of Honda and Acura, these guys did a phenomenal job. Build quality and power are excellent.
You need to check out a q50 or q60 tuned of course.
I don’t remember ever seeing a Infiniti being reviewed
The only things keeping me from buying a Q50RS are the drive-by-wire steering and the terrible transmission. That car deserves the older beloved G37/370Z steering and a ZF 8-speed auto trans. Like, BADLY.
I absolutely LOOOOOVE my Q60. Crazy power tuned with minimal work.

So question here re quality on Nissan vs Infinity quality. I know Infinity is Nissans premium brand but I've heard so many comments about Nissan's recent quality being pretty well.. shit. Like Nissan Rogues having electrical and shift issues, I have a buddy with a Micra that is less then 5 years old and is just in bad shape and been to the shop way too many times for it's age.
Is that the case for Infinity's also? Obviously I can google it but first hand experience or knowing someone is better I feel. Thanks!
Just picked up my 2020 GT1 last week - Love this car. Great value for a great price! I could care less about the badge. I got lucky to find mine at private/family owned dealership which made the negotiations and experience very easy and no sales bs. Highly recommend this car....Go test drive one!!
Honestly, I've thought about trading my Coyote Mustang for one because it just seems more useful and can be just as fun

I think it's a shame that the Stingers doesn't get the attention it deserves. They are a very good looking car.
Did the jb4 and intakes make a big diff? Thinking about doing the same..
Did you do any other mods to make sure the power was reliable?

What is that tune kit? Where can I get one?
I honestly didn't even know they made JB4 tuners for this car... Welp guess I know what my next mod is going to be
You should look at their 450hp package. BMS actually has good mods for the stinger/g70.
