I’m getting my rats in a few days I just bought everything that I need so I’m getting them in a few day our travel cage is the same just different colors
I have the same enclosure, I found if you take the levels out, it leaves tons of space to add hammocks and ladders!

@@nyssa853 ohh okay, i’m looking at getting 2 rats and trying to find a cage which is spacious for them but also so that it fits in my room. Really struggling to find one🤣
@@gemsarcher159 Yeah, from what I know its good for 2 - 3 rats. I got a smaller one then filled it to the brim with hammocks and toys rather than having a larger cadge with nothing in it.

They're lovely... We've got 2 here, they grow very quickly but they are so sociable and extremely intelligent.
I can't wait to watch them grow! They've already changed since I picked them up a week ago!

I have 3 Rex Dumbo babies that I bought today. They're barely weaned. I bought some KMR milk replacement for kittens. They're licking that for now. I also added some wet lab blocks and mild-grated cheddar cheese. Hopefully, they'll be eating ok. Most babies start off on millet sprays for birds.
You of course do not have to take this suggestion but you can take the levels out and you can put more stuff in the cage because rats love to climb.

I love Rats I've owned them my whole life I have many. A word of advice. Do not keep wasting ur money on those pet store fleece hammocks those are a joke for many reasons. Rats will chew them up its expensive just use ur old tshirts/ old cloths and tie to tops of the cage (to make hammocks) I just throw them out every couple weeks or so

Hi, congratulations on getting your first rats. I know from personal experience that they are totally addictive.
My only advice is to take things at your rats' pace. It could take days to win their trust it could take months.
Oh and hide the malt paste when you don't intend to give them any, because they'll have it away and will chew a big hole in it.
My rats mob me for malt paste they love it that much.

Alot of pet shops have adoption centres (sometimes these animals are in the back and you have to ask) so that could be an option for you, you can also join groups on Facebook like rat rescue hub, which is a group where people post rats which need to be rehomed or rescued, I also think it's worth travelling a bit if it means getting rats that are going to be your companions for the next few years it can be worth a bit of travel, you can also have a look on selling sights for rats which are being rehomed x

Your cage looks great!! I’m getting three males of my own semi soon, only thing I’d recommend for the cage is adding more stuff for enrichment. But size wise it’s perfect for the amount of rats you have!!

I had rats when I was 6 I want more sooo freaking bad. When in town I beg my mom to take me to the let's store just to look at them lol. I don't normally support getting animals from the pet stores but mine doesn't sell rats for pets only feeders. So for me I think saving a few from being eaten especially from a beautiful python they have is an exception.
I was planning on getting two but their was three guys left and I couldn’t just leave him the last one alone so me and my gf are getting three in a week

In this video I have the little friends rat plaza which was a nice cage (available on eBay, Amazon and little pet warehouse) which was decently tall but I have changed to the furat cage because it has bigger doors but it's a bit shorter so I'm planning on stacking 2 on top of eachother in future xx

Check out Shadow the Rats youtube if havent already she has great ideas about to train and activate rats and overall treat them well. =)
Your baby rats are so cute!, but some advice please do not use paper bedding because it might course some sneezing or breathing problems so I would recommend hay or you can research what the best bedding for your baby’s:) good luck 🌸

In the video I had the Little Friends Rat Plaza which was really nice but had small doors which I found annoying so now I have changed to the furat cage but would like to stack two on top of eachother to upgrade them as I have 4. The Coco Large is a good cage too or the savic xeno empire 3. These are all good as long as you don't plan on having more than 4 rats at any point. Or there are lots of free standing cages which are amazing such as the adventura rat and ferret cage x

They definitely take alot of time and attention, if you've got the time and money they're lovely animals but make sure you're not over stretching yourself - if you don't have the time/money for them currently you can always keep them in mind for future 💗

It's 80cm × 50cm x 90cm there are online calculators to find out how big a cage should be for how many rats x

I'm getting 2 dumbo rats in 2 weeks or more and they both will be male one will be brown named bean another with be blue named ratatouille(the rat from the movie). I need to know how much dose a rat bite hurt I'm nervous for their first baths.
Awh thats so exciting! My rats have never bitten me at all they've always been really good, taming took a while because they were shy but they shyed away from me never bit. As for a bath, I personally don't bathe mine as they groom themselves and eachother similar to cats so you don't really need to wash them xx

No, I've been cleaning out soiled bedding once a week and they've been completely fine x
Mostly is you clean there cages regularly they are fine they aculy clean themselves

can anyone tell me if you could get rats sent to you? i know it’s kind of a weird question but the closest i am to a rattery or an adoption center with rats is in another state :(
It depends! You should contact the nearest rat breeders and ask if they offer animal transport. You will have to pay a decent amount for it though unfortunately.

And rats are very intelligent you need to get more than a couple of them and just relax about it. You need more than 2. That Is mean to have just 2 of them if u knew anything about rats. I appreciate the effort though.
