  • Based on the Novel by Mary Higgins Clark
The story revolves around Kathy, an assistant D.A., Richard, her lover, who is also the chief medical examiner, and Dr. Highley. Kathy's investigating the supposed suicide of a woman. It seems that she has been going to Dr. Highley for some kind of treatments but when side effects begin to surface, she plans to see another doctor but Dr. Highley kills her before she does. Presently, Kathy's working under the assumption that the woman's husband was the one who killed her, and Dr. Highley also wants to see her to treat her for some injuries she sustained in a car accident. When in reality Dr. Highley suspects that she may have seen him on the night he killed the woman, because she was in the hospital but on medication therefore not certain of what she saw.

Watching all these lovely movies from 70ties and 80ties I'm very happy and grateful that there are some who spend so much time and energy it takes to upload all these gold grains of film to all of us
I'm just a little interested in whether the younger generation also watches this type of movie,,,

My oldest daughter (now 30) was born June 7,1994. I never knew there was a movie June 7, 2020. Even tho the year is off, I’ve cone to realize that soaring bizarre happens every year on her bday, so I find that movie was made with that particular date, I am going to have to watch it.

I was born in 1983, the year when this film was first released. It's amazing how people were ironically more connected to each other in terms of face to face conversations back then despite not having the Internet-based World Wide Web, as opposed to today in which people's faces (particularly those of the members of my Millennial generation and the younger Generation Z) are practically glued to our computer and cell phone screens lol

Of course people were more connected face to face before cell phones. One could say people stopped writing letters to each other because they all had household phones. Or people email each other rather than use their landlines.

I’m betting that soon enough you’ll need not worry about that again ( or anything whatsoever besides), because what’s happening in present times will most certainly affect all of Us; as well: future generations from even being alive anymore. Sad but true and sounds like such an unbelievable conspiracy theory that nobody’s ever gonna be prepared for rolling blackouts; no food available; paper money becoming obsolete which’s why it’s now easier than ever to get a credit card in the mail; even if we haven’t asked for it; The only reason why they’re waiting for total devastation is due to their coming out with a super virus called Xanadu and can’t develop it in the Wu Han labs like they had before the pandemic of 2019 which was just a little test to see how the average person would handle that. The term liberalism isn’t what we once knew it to be inside of the government whether it’s the Republicans or a Democratic Party planning these things alongside # 15 globalists who remain unknown until one realizes the biggest corporations like Biden’s administration giving Ukraine another $185 Billion dollars and has the audacity of telling Us $75 billion going towards Earth Day last week and the rest of it being spread out amongst the other nations instead of helping Us; his own citizens who’ve been thrown into the street to make room for some more illegals coming straight through the border as simultaneously helping the crime rate skyrocket! I was a registered Democrat until I learned of this plan by seeing footage from January 6,2020 and it being a complete set up to jail the folk’s whole peaceful protest 🪧 although they were all escorted by the security guards into the Capitol building. I’ve seen this happen in real time with no evidence of tampering. They’ve found 17 senators dressed in MAGA hats and shirts whose ploy to deceive people who believed they were only the right wing groups will never get their day in court and some of them were left behind to rot in a cell from 2020- present day (3 of them remain in the jail cells just like they did with Julian Asange when he tried to report it appeared that government information had been leaked onto his own website and they were at his residence within minutes putting his hands behind his back and arresting him on the spot for terrorist activity! He is presently being held without a snowballs chance of ever getting out of prison in 🇬🇧 since he has every single piece of evidence against the government. Hillary did purportedly destroy those documents including embarrassing files that would hang the both of them for the murders of Vince Foster which was never investigated and was subsequently buried along with Foster himself. Christopher Steele as a double agent and spied on Donald J. Trump’s computer, office and the entire family itself like it or not. I’m writing this because every time I try to even make people understand what I’m privy to myself and spread the truth to all citizens who should know what they have planned for us, it either doesn’t send the message in which I get the word “Error, Try Again?” Or it sends so far fetched that most Americans do nothing to acknowledge my findings and refuse to do their own research like I do on a regular basis without fail; cuz they ARE trying to get rid of any people who they’ve deemed unfit to live as witnessed in the latest novel by Klauss Schwabb- The Setback in which he’s cited both Adolf Hitler and Mao Tse Tung as well; saying the problem with these tyrant’s plan is that they didn’t go far enough in eliminating their own citizens and the ingredients added to their 🇨🇳 water supply to make the women barren, the men impotent so nobody can procreate against the government’s wishes. Recently the author of The Power Of The Dog ( about our own n government and their dealings with the cartels behind bringing drugs into our country destroying all of people’s lives it’s touched was strongly encouraged to take back what he’s said in his book telling everybody who’s familiar with this novel that he lied about what he witnessed back some 40+ years later!? I’m sorry but this makes no sense at all and either he or his family was threatened by the government whom have control of mainstream media outlets and pay them to lie to our faces under this same tactic which is why instead of hearing that Trump’s won every state he’s campaigning for as I’m writing this, but unless it’s a negative spin? We’re not hearing about any of his winning are we.? I hope he gets into office that he rightfully won and Biden was down by 43%; yet won in less than a 46 hour period in a swing state that abhored him? C’mon now, I mean.. I’m not his biggest fan but I do know that if he won he wouldn’t get past the White House steps; let alone he would be in mortal danger ‼️ Listen . Biden’s been gonzo for awhile now with his dementia becoming obvious more and more each time he opens his mouth and they will recognize it and put him into an assisted living facility instead of a prison where he and Hunter paying off Zelenskyy to keep their oil fields a secret while the rest of us suffer and it’s just going to get worse until they crash our economy; pushing electric cars nobody will be able to afford at $50k to start; unleashing another pandemic according to Bill Gates in the Fall sometime in the near future; give up anything to defend yourself from terrorist attacks coming from his opening up the borders and letting millions of illegals into your country folks! And mark my words that it’s been Obama who is pulling the strings from the very first time Joe Biden was showing signs of early onset Alzheimer’s disease back in October 2020; after the alleged storming the Capitol building even if they were set up by the president knowing full well they were mostly Trump supporters who were just going there. And the trap was set 🪤 If they let the only one who can possibly save us all from the enemies/ allies whom we’ve never been certain are just that all of our military equipment; missles and weapons of mass destruction. Now tell me. Why would they do that as well: trying to take away our right to bare arms; grow food because of China’s buying up the midwesterner’s farmlands since 2021-22; directly against our own people from ownership of our fields which produces wheat, fruits and vegetables, but luckily none are interested and most knew what they were intentionally trying to pull. Trump’s the winner and it will not matter if he’s shot to death and then Michelle Obama’s going to run and everybody will vote her in cuz she’s loved by the world and not corrupt whatsoever, right..? Yeah. Just like she’s never been Barack’s old Army buddy who turned into his wife now and I know exactly what you’re thinking of this post and I appreciate it if you are still reading it! Do Me a favour please 🙏🏻 and Google:US.GOV and find out what’s been going on right underneath your very nose. I swear to God this is going to be their Hail Mary pass 🏈 Michelle can tell you she’s not interested in running and she’s probably not.. unless Trump wins somehow without being assassinated just like they’ve done with JFK, RFK + MLK then they pay some foreigners off and tell them they will funnel money into a Swiss bank account

I remember when this aired (promos and such), but don't recall watching it. What's interesting is that the many of the background underscore themes heard here sound familiar--as though they were also used on "Guiding Light" around that time. Another great way to make fans of the soap feel "comfortable" and in a familiar setting. CBS (all soaps, really) should have been doing this occasionally over the years to draw more viewers. Too late now--especially for the late, once great "Guiding Light."

Hey Douglas & Bunny...I saw that movie in the theatre,& like you said Douglas..I certainly never forgot it! Think it was the scene in the small apt., where all the lights were out & the guy was stalking her very quietly...Gee! that was a long time ago!
The fridge door suddenly is pulled wide open--flooding the kitchen with what seemed at the time -- an extremely bright white light--A dark figure lunges for her----from the left,I believe,it was----because everyone in the theatre (As one entity)flung themselves to their right!
If you were, as my boyfriend and I were, towards the back...it was a phenominal sight! A few minutes later, one could hear chuckling coming from here & there as people began to understand what had just happened....I guess we all felt rather sheepish!
I did see it again a few yrs later on cable in Ottawa...it was still good But,I believe the best place to see it---would be--in a dark theatre, filled to the roof with patrons!!

    • @E-Kat
      @E-Kat Місяць тому

Yes, the music is silly! It's a leftover from the silent film era, when the music had to tell the story, as we couldn't synchronise the video and audio.
120 years later, and we can't move on from this!

I'm at 1:02:56 and still waiting for a plot to unfold. This is like watching a movie-length episode of a Soap Opera I'm unfamiliar with. I read Mary Higgins Clark in my 20s, along with Robin Cooke, Sidney Sheldon, and the rest who were churning out lots of paperbacks per year, and better ones like Anne Rice, Anya Seton, Janette Seymour, Lola Burford, Dean R. Koontz, Ira Levin, Frank Herbert, William Goldman, and many who've never been heard from again after just one book. The inexpensive escape kept me sane during my housebound years of raising small children. But I tried Clark years later and couldn't get past the second page, the book seemed so weak, childish, contrived, and dull. Sidney Sheldon to my shock and sadness affected me the same. Mary Higgins Clark has had gargantuan success, though. More than likely, it's just me. Watching THIS, I'm starting to see her as the E.L. James of women's suspense fiction, except that Fifty Shades the movie was great despite the book.

I remember when I was a "housewife" stuck with 2 screaming kids, and I had to resort to watching soaps, to hear some adult conversation. I didn't even own a car. What a waste of life! Now they are far away, and don't give a damn what happens in my old age.

When my children were little , it was the best time in my life!! I regreat having only four of them. But on the other hand, this world is such an awful place, so bringing four of them here was a selfish decision.
I love them unconditionally and I'd give anything to be able to have one day with them when they were little again.
      Every day was just magical.
They were my whole purpose in life, and my darling husband of course.
Try to remember the good days, there must've been many. ❤
