They FINALLY OPENED The Gates At This MASSIVE SPILLWAY!!! (Fish Went Crazy)

- I've waited ALL YEAR to fish this place. I kept seeing pictures of people catching fish, while the water was turned off, and the water was stagnant. With the EXTREME DROUGHT coming to an end thanks to Mother Nature PMSing, the gates were OPENED. I packed up all my crap, and started speeding my way to the southwestern corner of Nebraska. Once I arrived, I was greeted by the fish going absolutely CRAZY.
Thank you to everyone who purchased merch over the last couple months, I appreciate each and every one of you. Mucho loveo my stached friends.

That’s me hey there
Heyyyy 👋🏻
@@PigPatrolTVwe should plan a trip to go down there together
@@RomanLong-i3pI do plan on going again this year if they get the water going again. I heard they lowered it way down.
@@PigPatrolTVyea let’s plan it
Where is that?
That dam is a view getter. The structure itself is so impressive I click right as I see the thumbnail.
She is a beaut
Best channel on UA-cam. Love the consistency
Another job well done Stash-stain!! Congratulations to the winner of the Stash stick!! Tight lines boys and girls!! Hi Booberto!!😂
Use braided main line and tie about a 12 foot mono leader on the end. It will help with the break offs on the rocks and whatnot
Fishing isn't just wild it's awesome.
Thanks for the video Josh ! You’re out there banging ‘em like an old screen door on a hot summer day. Nice job !
Hah 😂😂😂
Great day at the Spill N Way!!!! Nice looking fish Josh....Nice episode !!!!
Preciate' ya watching
If you want to fish a lure in heavy current you have two options. Heavier weight on the lures like a small swim bait and jig head. Or, reel faster to keep up with the current and keep your bait moving forward through it and not getting all washed around. You can also rig up a tandem jig head rig and that will have a similar effect of using a heavier weight, but also presents the distinct possibility of hooking 2 at once, so you’ll definitely need to bump it up to 14-16lb test line on the spin pole for that application.
Great video. Keep up the great content. I haven't caught any wipers this year
Awesome video man 🔥🔥🔥🎣🎣🎣
Keep being you brother. Thanks again 👍
I hope I never grow up
Well I have to say you are a personable man to all the folks you meet Josh!
I like chatting about fishing lol
Bruh, that was the coolest when you shook little buddy hand while fighting a fish...... too cool! That why I watch your channel!
Felt like the right thing to do lol
Insane how loaded this place is. What a blast!
Hi love to see you go fishing and always makes me happy keep it up man
I'll do my best!
Yeah! Dam fun times. Thanks, Josh.
Your good people josh! Wish more people were the same!
😢I got my fingers and had Tore up. Whaaa! Lol! Nice job Josh! I'm like'n it dude 👍
Toe up from da flow up
Bro your videos always amaze me with the fish you catch ! Stay safe !
Never skip a video at this spot. Seems like always great fishing here
Another one coming tonight!
Dropped the old GoPro in
I’d never leave there😂. Thx, man!
I had to force myself lol
Multistache it! Glad you stroked'em!
Awesome! Was not the same action for us as we stopped through on way to Colorado but was still cool. Love it bro.
Yea I think they turned the water down right after this
@@PigPatrolTV we stopped on way home as well caught some small flatheads. Fish or no fish its one of the coolest places in Nebraska.
Congratulations on a Couple great days
Definitely was fun
Just ordered some baby whales and jig heads from 6th sense. Used the Stache code. Thank you for the discount.
No, thank you. Hope you like em!
Josh a little tip you may not have tried before for your thumb on days like this get hold of a push bike inner tube cut a slice the size of your thumb stick a couple in your hook box and thank me later !
😊
Congrats Mike
Braid for everything. Yes it's true braid can cut a little easier that way but I haven't had huge issues I always use floro leader helps with teeth and visibility etc.. I use suffix 832 which has a good abrasion resistance.
The stache stick looks like it holds up pretty good under big fish.
I've beat the piss out of my 6' 6" ML
@@PigPatrolTVmore like 3.6”
@@shaundiltz5821Hah 😂
Looks like s great fishing hole. 👍
Great Video as always bud!! Hope you do get to make a Catfish video there though.. It could be epic
You're so awesome Josh.... giving bait away like you're oprah😂❤😂
Just out here spreading the wealth
Love the videos and in the south it’s “slicker than owl sh-t”. Keep it up
Is owl chit slick?
Thanks for the video stash ass🎉 I like suffix 832 with a fluorocarbon leader❤
I use braid, then a flouro leader. But for me no wipers or flatties to consider, and I almost 100% lure fish. Plus I'm lazy and like the combination for my area. I hate the stretch of straight mono, can't go back man. Great video bud.
Awesome video, brother!
Thanks man ❤
Killer job, brother!!
Preciate' it
Excellent job bud always fun to watch someday hopefully I will meet you . Can you please take a picture of the package that the baby whale comes in. I want to make sure that I get the right ones
It’s just the pro Shad and get the size that matches the size of the bait where your fishing
@jordonpratt2604 thank you
I use braid with a mono leader and it seems like a perfect combination to me 😁
Congrats to mike.....and the mystical stashtastical. You came a long way and even tho idk how long I've been on team strikeforce stash but it's been quite awhile and ur content has just gotten better and better over time.who woulda ever thought u would have ur own signature rods? So what's the next goal? U gonna possibly get a boat or maybe even join a league like ol Benji did?
No big leagues, but potentially a 16' Johnny boat.
Appreciate you sticking around all these years!
@@PigPatrolTV the pleasure is all mine sir....I'm a general contractor and long days of work are usually followed by me getting to watch fishing videos instead of fishing myself sadly....use to fish a whole bunch ohio, indiana and Kentucky but now that I made the jump to becoming my own boss instead of working for a property improvement business my freetime has basically disappeared

Nice Double, fish catching video !!!!!
It was a good couple days
It will be fun to see what you get with that drum! I’ve had great luck in that spillway with cut drum. Both wipers and channels
As many videos as you have here in Flathead always being your number one goal I don't remember you ever catching one here... Yet.
I have caught a couple 15" ones. Still hoping for a bigger one.
I got hooked on "Fire Line" after over casting to a piece of angle iron. Pulled like hell and got the lure back with a bent hook. Saved many a lure since and caught pike with no leader. Loving on your fish channel.
Nice
I think straight mono is still one of the best ways to go for bigger fish. Super under-rated!
Straight mono is probably the best bet at this place
I don’t know how you stand there in water with shoes on, that’d drive me nuts 🤣
Love it!
Love the video.
Bigger chunks, bigger cats. I want to see you put a huge chunk on and see you pull in a true monster! 😊
Fun video. Nice that you shared a blue gill with bud!
Everyone was helping everyone there!
I'm super excited for the gopro vid at this spillway. I'll be buying some merchandise regardless of a rod giveaway.
Appreciate that!
Gr8 video Josh
Excellent
I’m from the northeast, I have never seen a place like this before.. so cool 😎
It's pretty neat
Man I'm all about the smaller swimbaits, but a kastmaster with a single bet be super deadly there, one of my top 5 lures, for all kinds fish
When I fish down there for whippers I usually do a slow retrieve with some jerks in the places where there isn’t water flowing in and they usually smash it.
Legendary spot
Agreed
Nice fishing
Suffix 832 braid attached to a piece of 14 lb floral carbon with a triple surgeons loop!
Problem with that is your line can touch the pillars 20,30, even 40' up your line. It's the only place I think straight mono might be best.
@@PigPatrolTVI’ve switched to mostly bait casters in recent years for the sole purpose of using straight mono or fluoro. If I don’t have much room to cast or casting really light shit, spinning reel with braid it is.
Everyone is usually friendly and helps out there.
Agreed
@@PigPatrolTV my friend caught a ton of fish at methodist cove friday, I recommend hitting that up next time you go.
I either use straight flourocarbon or braid with flouro leader 🔥
Love that sopot
Any opportunities in the impoundment above? Sure is a good gig where you’re at and I know how you like the spillway gig.
Digging your bourbon collection brotha! I also am a big time bourbon collector/drinker!
I just started a little while ago, and I'm kind of addicted. Don't sleep on barrel strength Penelope toasted. It's fuego.
I live in Nebraska by Lincoln and so far me and my brother have caught a 32lb and a 30lb flathead while it was flooded
That's awesome!
Straight braid, except my panfish rods, that'll be mono. Several people tell me straight braid that I won't get that many bites, but that's a load of crap, I'll go up against you in a battle. You use braid with mono leader, & I'll use straight braid, & we'll see.
I think the leader helps for stretch, especially with travel hook baits. The fish seeing it doesn't matter that much.
I normally run straight braid because of laziness but I've lost a few walleye and a musky
@@FishingWithZach I run straight braid for the fact that my hands shake a lot so tying line together is difficult for me, also I always use the palomar knot, except when using panfish rods I tie improved clinch knot.
@@scottbormann2765 14 lb test mono will outlast that braid rubbing on concrete bud
@@timsteinke3838 100% correct
I have only fished there once I guess I should make plans for next year great video
I would!
Bet a magdraft would slay them there
Josh I fish some similar water current wise and after witnessing a couple real bad deals I've gone to wearing a pull to inflate vest, I don't even realize it's there but if I ever needed it I'm glad it's there, Booberto and the mini stasche need ya around bro. Our lives change with addition fam units
I run 40 braid to a 10 or 12 floro leader... on 7'2 MH .. I've always wondered why you like going so light..
10lb braid can handle almost any job, and casts further than 40
Hell yeah
Stache Man is a bit of a bourbon nerd? You got a couple sneaky bottles there brother. Good deal!
I've gathered a few over the past year 😬
Looks like you got a hit..yeeyee.abd people are there because you post lol.awesome brother
Thanks for another video Stache-imus Prime! If ya wanna try some mono and are used to braid, try some Vicious. We use the 12 lb and can boat flip 3-5 skips on a pontoon. I'll gladly pay $5 a spool at the Walymart.
regular shoes in that water is WILD!
Felt nice
I use braid and fluerocarbon. Braid for my heavy bait rods, fluero with my lure rods. Gives the stretch thatll sae your lures with the more energetic fish.
Sharing the bait with your fellow angler was an awesome gesture mr stache man……….have you dropped a go pro into this are yet?😮
I remember when you only had 30k subscribers I been here a long time
Appreciate you sticking around
Hey You 'Ol Slap Nuts!! Where Is This Dam??? For Us Less Fortinet Folks To Try On A Road Trip!!! Ah What Aboot?? P.S. You Should Have Given The Kid An Autographed ROD! LOL Love Your Channel Brother!!
It’s easy to find, I found it and live in Tennessee, but he has said many times he won’t tell the names of the places he goes so they don’t get flooded with people. But it’s really easy to find
Do your homework, use google earth and identify features seen in video below the dams.
There are some clues in the intro that will take you right there.
@@jordonpratt2604 just give me the state it’s in lol
I would live on that pick nick table in a tent till green jeans made me leave if I had a place like that 😂 the wife would probably have long filed a missing person report 😂😅
Hah 😂😂😂
Hell yeah helping out other fishermen nice baby whale
Is that a scrunchie/hair tie on your wrist? The mullet getting that long? 😂
Great vid.. thats a cool place!
Mullet is gone. Scrunchie is my daughter's. She makes me bring it on trips lol.
@PigPatrolTV aww.. girl dad here too, so I get it. Enjoy them while they are young!
Stache master that is one of my favorite places to fish I haven't been there in years. I'm going to the triple spillway in Kans ass to fish it for the first time .
Stache nuggets
You would like fishing Kirr Damn on the VA NC border. Its a hydro electric damn and they pump some water out. Makes hooking a 20-30 pound blue a hell of a fight and we have stripers and walleye. I just use 1/4-3/4 ounce gottcha jigheads and a zoom superfluke.
Have you ever seen anyone fly fishing with streamers down there Josh? I'd imagine a nice sized stream would get some good sized wipers or white bass. That wpild be fun.
I have not. One of these years I might try fly fishing again.
I personally use heavier braid main line and use a 10’-12’ mono/flouro leader line. Blood knot to splice the two. And the heavier the braid you use, the better it will match the size of your leader line and the less likely it is going to be able to cut into your leader line inside the knot, and create a bad day.
I use Berkeley fire line on all my reels. Best line in my opinion!
Just order bunch of baby whales an stache heads i call those finesse jigs stache heads lol keep it up the wipey diapies are my favorite to fish for
They should probably change the name to that 😂
Was just wondering about this big spillenway.
Last video was from here too!
Looks like you are a bourbon hunter as well...
Nice... Blanton's EH Taylor and Bookers 👍
Every spillway I want to fish in my state is ridiculously HIGH!!! Consider yourself lucky!
I definitely do!
Nice video. wish I had a good place to catch wippers.
I use braid and a fluoro leader for toothy saltwater fish, if they can see the leader they will bite it.
Problem with this place is, is the pillars cut way up your line. You'd have to tie a long azz leader.
Suffix advanced...try it man...sh!!t is underated and has awesome stretch..8lb should be fine...low diameter too
What jig head do you run with the “baby whales” I haven’t tried the 6th sense finesse swimbait jigs yet…. But I haven’t found anything I like other than the guppy heads. Just trying to see what other use especially when it’s someone who uses the baby whale as much as you do!!
Bro, I got on a wiper/striper bite last summer, it was the first time I had ever consistently caught them and it was a blast. Everything just came together.
I was in the laurel lake tailwaters in KY where it dumps into the cumberland river. I went upstream in kayak looking for smallies and we had some crazy storms earlier that day. All the sudden they started cranking water, it was cold water and the fog was so thick off the water it blocked the sun. I was throwing a little jig behind current breaks up by where the water dropped down a big waterfall from the dam which was way uphill. I just got hammered, bout ripped the rod outta my hand and it was a huge fat wiper. Then i caught like 3 striper.... they were longer and thinner, more aerodynamic shaped. Then i caught another big wiper, and i mean for rest of the day I just had some of the most fun fishing ive ever had. Now I want to make the trip again, it's like a 3 hour trip, but I have to plan it around a time I know they will be pumping water.
That sounds like a dam good time
@@PigPatrolTVhell yeah!! Love watching you get on these insane bites.
The tense up thing in the fish is basically a muscle cramp from exhaustion. its more common in wipers than WB.
Maxima camelon for main line ,use it for shore fishing walleye and salmon in M.I . Use pline for leader
LFG!! 🔥🔥
Where we going?
@@PigPatrolTV when you coming back to MN?
Time for some big flathead content now sir!
I'll do my best. They're getting ready to spawn.
Next time you do another best dam float tour I’d like to know I’d really love to say hi I missed you when you came to desbach here in Wisconsin when you caught you nice sturgeon
