When I was 15 years of age I saw Andy Gibb skateboarding and he was truly a great skateboarder ! I was amazed and astonished as were all the girls standing together to watch him skateboading at our school. He showed up as a promise to a girl in our school but we were never told who the girl was, only that he was going to come to our school and to watch out for him. He was so beautiful, I can still see him in my mind, his long golden wavy hair streaming over his shoulders as he sped by on his skateboard. He kept smiling and proving his skill on the board. I think he had a lot of fun and energy and he was certainly a good-looking guy. He was a cheeky handsome devil at such young age. The year was 1977, he would have been 19 years of age..... It's something that I will never forget....I saw Andy Gibb with my own eyes !
Please… he wasn’t greedy . His talent was enough to keep him successful. He unfortunately was caught up in an addiction that is hard for him and anyone to overcome no matter the help. It’s very sad. It also wasn’t the responsibility of his brothers to fix him. That’s something that must eventually come from within. Let him rest in peace until the time of resurrection when he will shine not in fame but life. 💕
Andy was my teen idol. His voice was like caramel and his countenance was majestic. I remember where I was when I heard that he had died. My daughter and I were on the way to the beach; the rain was horrendous. Some news person came on the radio and announced that Andy Gibb had died. I had to pull off the road, I was so shocked. I still miss him and play his music a lot.
I loved Andy and The Bee Gees it started in grade school and remains this day. I don't believe greed killed him. I think he died of depression and his cocaine habit. He was so handsome, sweet, and talented. Very sad. I cried. 😢💔🙏
He’d have been better off if he had been less handsome with no brothers. If you or I used drugs we’d lose our jobs and soon run out of options. Andy could always leverage his good looks and famous family to go from one job to another without taking responsibility for his addiction and personal problems. By the time he started to realize this he had permanent heart muscle damage. The heart was not strong enough to pump the blood volume to the rest of the body. Then the excess fluid backs up into the lungs causing one to drown in their own fluids. The night before he died he went on an alcohol bender. The increase in fluids from the alcohol would have increased his blood volume putting further strain on his heart. We’re all going to die someday but he didn’t need to go out of this world that way. Very very sad case
Seeing his net worth at death was 5 million, I don't think the title for this video is accuarite cause if that's what you call poverty then I'd be good with that. Andy was my teen crush. Have all his albums and seen him in concert. My walls were covered in his posters. So sad he died so young.
Andy's brother, Maurice, warned him, that he was going to lose everything if he didn't get help for his addiction. It's sad he passed too young. He left behind a daughter, and other mourners.
He was a handsome young man,sad he had to end up as he did. Seems like there wasnt much lucky with the boys in that family. Even Robin and Maurice died relatively young also. My favourite was always Barry,Im so glad we still have him ❤❤❤❤
His death due to myocarditis would probably have been prevented if it happened today. Dying just 5 days after turning 30 it’s a tragedy. I learned about all these types of music due to my mom, 49, who loves all that music.
I can remember Andy's brothers talking about their grave concern about what was happening with Andy. Especially Barry, who seemed frantic with frustration over a perceived ending. I think it was only a matter of a couple of months; many weeks before they lost him. The Bee Gees were exceptional in so many ways. Not only were they outstanding artists and performers, but they were lovely people and there was a family cohesion that was enviable. I'm ever so glad I lived when I did to have experienced, enjoyed, and danced the nights away to their music. Forever in my heart, love forever to and for the Bee Gees. ❤ 😊❤
It was so sad 😢, Andy was one of my favorites, I have all his vinyls ,I was devastated when the news announced his death, he was so talented like his brothers that always back him up.He will always be remembered by his fans , I'm one of them. ♥️🇨🇺🇺🇲
I think when Victoria left him for her plastic surgeon it broke his heart tremendously and only pushed him further into addictions & drinking. It is said that one can die of a broken heart; the trauma of losing someone you love can actually do damage to the heart. IMHO this is what happened to him and the drinking only made it worse. So sad to see such a handsome guy go like that.
Andy Gibb was a very gifted amd talented man that unfortunately died young. May he rest in peace knowing that his music lives in enjoyed by so many today.
Wow I remember when his career skyrocketed and he was so in love with Victoria Principal- how tragic to leave here so early in his life 30 years too young- such a handsome and talented young man ❤🕊️
He had a very difficult time dealing with the breakup from actress Victoria Principal. He had fallen hard for her and was crushed. He was younger and probably less experienced. It seemed at the time he became immersed in the drug world not long after the breakup which no doubt took a toll on his heart.😢😢 I still have some of his records. ❤
What do you do with millions of money if you died early in life . Money is useless.. About Andy, will he enjoy his wealth what he pleases!May he Rest In Peace 🙏Thanks for sharing!
he and jon erik hexum. both men, childhood crushes. both beautiful and fragile and free. gone in the blink of an eye but their memory remains stored, with flowers, forevermore.
Such a tragic loss of a talented singer, so writer and performer. What really annoys me is the industry itself is ready to fall over you when you are famous and have a lot to give, but when you are on a decline, emotionally and mentally, instead of trying to give advice and get help, for that person, who is their artist that they are making money from, they cut them off which only exasperates the mental problems that they are having which only leads to more substance abuse. It takes strength and conviction to be able to distance yourself from the party going drugtaking industry. God rest his soul in peace.
I'm tired if people blaming Victoria Principal for Andy's downfall and death. He was already doing drugs before they met. After his guest appearance on the sitcom Gimme A Break, he was dating the actress who played the oldest daughter. She also said Andy's drug use ended things between them. Andy tried rehab various times. I read that when he would get out of rehab, he went back to the drug dealers. Everything he lost- co-hosting Solid Gold, a Broadway play, etc was due to drugs. So sad and tragic. RIP Andy 💔💔😢🙏
He was the first poster that hung on my wall as a young girl. Victoria Principal only used him for publicity and where was his so called loving family at when the press and others were constantly comparing him to his brothers. They should have spoke out and said that he was a great talented performer and not a wannabe bee gee. It's not easy to live in someone else's shadow. He's gone way to soon. But his music will live on FOREVER!!
I'm sadden to learn that Andy Gibb was suffering w/depression and anxiety... the music industry is full of evil people that have zero compassion nor care what drugs do to young artists. These young (or mature) artists are known as "cash cows", they're worth more dead than alive. I remember my sister and I had gone to shoot some hoops at our old middle school, when our brother showed up and told us that Andy Gibb had passed away... I was so stunned! I cried, went home and played his greatest hits album over and over.😢 He was too young to have died like that... R.I.P. Andy Gibb.🥀
Poor Andy, i remember when he passed, i was a kid when his music came out & loved his songs. Thats a sad story. He could od had it all, actually Everything 💔
My sister had the biggest crush on Andy. Such a sad story. Drug addiction, depression, and anxiety have killed many stars. Such a sad, sad story. Too bad his family couldn't convince him to stop ruining his finances and health. Losing his recording contract had to be a huge blow. I remember when he died, some wanted to blame Victoria Principal. Cocaine causes heart failure. Just a tragic story! Thirty is a very short life indeed.
There’s a reason why the rest of the Gibb family never settled in Los Angeles. It could be a dangerous place for the young, being influenced by artists that led a hedonistic lifestyle. This is true to this day, how many stars are coming forward now, to speak of the things they endured by people who said they would mentor them. His family all wanted him to come home, to Miami, or England. He must have met people that led him down a fatal path. When you already suffer with some mental health issues drugs seem an easy way of escaping. I think it’s quite sad that Andy could not see in himself what all of his fans saw in him. I miss him, and strangely, I haven’t played one of his LPs since the day I heard he died.
Andy was never ever greedy he was the most kind hearted generous person but when he moved to l.a. the wolves got don't you ever say he was greedy r.i.p.andy we love you
This might sound harsh but he died doing what he loved. He didnt want the same life as his brothers. The person has to decided what they want. You can only lead the horse to water.
His Brothers tried to tell him what was going to. happen to his career & all his luxuries if he didn’t stay away from the drugs but he didn’t listen. They tried to help him but he didn’t finally get off drugs till it had already damaged his health then being depressed ( he suffered from depression) on his birthday he went on an alcohol bender that ended his life because of his heart problem but he was Off Drugs & had been for a while. So sad he was so talented & good looking with so much opportunity. 💙😢
How can you claim that he was greedy, the man got hooked on drugs and eventually caused his demise. He was a brilliant talent and gave his all in his concerts! R.I.P.🥀
I loved all of the Gibb brothers Andy was great, it was sad what happened to him.He died when I was in high school and they announced it over the load speaker,I was devastated but it made me love The Bee Gees even more.
It's so tragic. It still hurts deep in me knowing u're gone. Your vocal timbre with all its pathos touched my soul like no other artists. Andy, I will always love u, forever and ever.
My walls were plastered in Andy Gibb photos and his brothers the bee gees it's such a shame his life was cut so short through drugs waste of superb talent. Rip Andy gone but never forgotten
That proves that drugs and alcohol addiction can pull you down even you are well known. You will have a hard time to rehabilitate your self. Sometimes being known and famous is toxic when you don't know how to handle it. So sad!
Andy was a good guy... Only hooked by drugs to deal with his anxiety... Dont paint a bad name for him. Though, i was born in the year 1979. I learn Andy's songs 2024, and feel in love with it. Rip Andy, Maurice and Robin I'll never forget your talent.
I'll always Love The Bee Gees they were the best in my air Andy was 6 months older than me but I still love all the Bee Gees and I miss him too thank you!!!
I always thought that Andy was the most handsome of all the brothers. He and Victoria were a beautiful couple too . Sadly he was taken way to soon he was so young .
His early songs with all the Beegees stuff in the mid to late 70s were some of my favorites as a kid. Wished it would have turned out different for him
To the people who are saying his brothers didn't help him THAT IS FALSE!! BARRY, ROBIN & MAURICE worried 😯 constantly about their baby brother ANDY!! They were trying to get ANDY to join the BEEGEES right before he died!! They were ALWAYS CONCERNED about his health and lived in fear 😱 of losing him to death!! Unfortunately that is what happened!! A couple of years ago BARRY GIBB gave a concert singing their hits, some of ANDY'S hits and said how much he LOVES them and misses all 3 of his brothers!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ RIP MAURICE, ROBIN & ANDY GIBB!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ I have ALWAYS LOVED ALL OF THEM & APPRECIATE their TALENTS in the music industry!! GOD BLESS BARRY, his children and his brothers children, STAY SAFE & GOOD HEALTH ALWAYS for the GIBB FAMILY!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
We can all discuss the " why and thoughts about his death.." But I think the only reall thing is that no father or mother , family or relative should been thrown into this kind of greeve missing and still loving. No matter how famous... 😢❤
Fame and money doesn't buy happiness..,... most famous people get on drugs or die by suicide. God provides fame and fortune by providing the talent in the first place. Use your talents for God's purpose.😊😊😊😊
Rest In Peace Andy, you were loved and adored by your fans.❤️

Drug addiction is a terrible thing. Unfortunately, people enjoy the experience and the price is very, very high at times.
He would have been 66 this March, he was born the day before me. Sad, so talented and so handsome.

Andy and The Bee Gees will always have a special place in my heart ❤️
He was never officially a BeeGee and he died as the result of a drug addiction. The break up with Victoria Principal sent him over the edge.
Andy was my teen idol. His voice was like caramel and his countenance was majestic. I remember where I was when I heard that he had died. He died in drugs not greed its so sad he is a good singer.✌️🥰❤️
I refuse to believe that he died in poverty, his brothers would have looked after him....Period
I grew up in the 70s...
Huge crush on Andy.
I was so devastated when he passed away 😢
What a great talented guy!!! So much feeling. Nobody can come close to these TRUE ARTISTS NOWADAYS!!!!❤
Bottom line, Andy had an addiction. It's Sad he passed. I Loved him.
Tragic he died so young he had so much to give his fans but he's not forgotten

That's not true. Victoria Principle broke his heart and the cocaine didn't help.
Addiction is an illness not greed. This was repetitive, saying very little about this amazing , beautiful man
Just say no to drugs
Poor Andy, i remember when he passed, i was a kid when his music came out & loved his songs. Thats a sad story. He could od had it all, actually Everything 💔

Drugs killed him, not greed. You should change your headline!! It's misleading!!
Such a shame, good looking guy, what a pity he went down the wrong way but it shows it can happen to anyone, he looks and sounds like young Barry, RIP
He was a darling 😢😢
God, i had a major crush on Andy as a 70s teen....So sad the way he died.
There’s a reason why the rest of the Gibb family never settled in Los Angeles. It could be a dangerous place for the young, being influenced by artists that led a hedonistic lifestyle. Same problem with Whitney Houston
cocaine addiction
This might sound harsh but he died doing what he loved. He didnt want the same life as his brothers. The person has to decided what they want. You can only lead the horse to water.
Andy wasn't a member of the Bee Gees. He was their brother.
I don't think he ever got over Victoria Principal
His Brothers tried to tell him what was going to. happen to his career & all his luxuries if he didn’t stay away from the drugs but he didn’t listen. Not greed. Didnt know how to manage his money. Fell prey to drugs. His family took care of him.
Andy's father and one brother (Maurice) had a problem with drinking, so I wonder if addiction/depression was genetic.
I loved all of the Gibb brothers Andy was great, it was sad what happened to him.He died when I was in high school and they announced it over the load speaker,I was devastated but it made me love The Bee Gees even more.
He was not the youngest of The Bee Gees. He was never part of The Bee Gees. And he wasn’t the youngest of 5 brothers, but youngest of 4.
It's so tragic. It still hurts deep in me knowing u're gone. Your vocal timbre with all its pathos touched my soul like no other artists. Andy, I will always love u, forever and ever.
He was gorgeous. x
COCOAINE KILLS..LONG TERM DAMAGE
A star that went out too soon.
He wasn’t the youngest of the beegees. He was the youngest Gibbs brother.
Too much fame, money, and drugs is often the demise of many a young stars. RIP Andy.
My walls were plastered in Andy Gibb photos and his brothers the bee gees it's such a shame his life was cut so short through drugs waste of superb talent. Rip Andy gone but never forgotten
I worked with Kim Reeder as manager of our office in south west Sydney back in 2007-08.
That proves that drugs and alcohol addiction can pull you down even you are well known. You will have a hard time to rehabilitate your self. Sometimes being known and famous is toxic when you don't know how to handle it. So sad!
Andy WAS NOT GREEDY! He was a wounded soul!
Love his music "Don't Throw it Away"
it was not greed that killed him but insecurities and fame.
No his heart killed him from past drug abuse
Andy was a good guy... Only hooked by drugs to deal with his anxiety... Dont paint a bad name for him. Though, i was born in the year 1979. I learn Andy's songs 2024, and feel in love with it. Study his songs which now im trying to do covers - #COVERJonathanMendoza.. ❤🎉 I love Andy Gibb. Words and Music is my most favorite.
I’ve always loved the Bee Gee’s and the sound of their music …..R.I.P. Andy
Can't get over the resemblance of Andy Gibb to Heath Ledger . . .
I'm 60 now, but when I was younger, I loved Andy Gibb so good looking
Gone so young, he had a lot ahead of his future. Really drugs ruin anyone no matter the status in life.
😢😢😢...i missed the BEEGEES and of course ANDY GIBBS...❤
Being separate from his brother help his career grow I preferred him over the bee gee's because he sang at a slightly deeper voice but when Disco died in the 80's so did his career even his brothers disappeared some went R&B but were over shadowed by hard rock
His family loved him. Always.❤❤
He was Amazing!!! But gone too soon. ❤

I know it doesn’t help much, but I do feel sorry for these kind of alcoholics. They got dealt a bad hand of cards.
I’m a different kind of alcoholic.
Always loved him it really broke my heart to learn of his passing. He did so many duets with other more popular artists and made the song a hit. So very sad the industry preys on kind people like him. I understand it was his choice to do drugs but I can't help but think those producers and some other celebrities just used him. R.I.P. Andy!💙🌈
I remember hearing when he passed away. I was shocked. I loved his music.
Not enough people talk about Andy. They speak of the bee gees more.
Barry loved him so much HE TRIED TO HELP HIM XXXX
Cocain ruined Andy 's heart, it's just that simple
We share the same birthdate and both babies of the family.
Except, you’ve never heard of me.
RIP Andy!

Listening again still sounds good
What a beautiful, beautiful man
I remember he was huge here in the U.S. in the 70s. The girls loved him and his music. Too bad he couldn't get it together.
I never knew he did a duet with Irene Cara. "Shadow Dancing" is still the best Andy song. RIP Andy
Great performer...Sad what happened to him.
Cute guy. Big fan of him. RIP ❤️🥀😒🎵
The magnitude of his greatness will never be forgotten.
We can all discuss the " why and thoughts about his death.."
But I think the only reall thing is that no father or mother , family or relative should been thrown into this kind of greeve missing and still loving. No matter how famous...
😢❤
Thank you for this presentation. He did so much in a short amount of time. He was also in NZ a lot. He moved so much !
Fame and money doesn't buy happiness..,... most famous people get on drugs or die by suicide. God provides fame and fortune by providing the talent in the first place. Use your talents for God's purpose.😊😊😊😊
