Oh sweet mother of God.......jackie could sing! Anything!!!! He can make chills go up your spine when he hits those high runs. Wish we had him decades longer than we did. He was just half way in his career but was amazingly better with every hit after hit. What a tragedy when we lost him. 🎶💕🎶
What a voice, what a voice. If we were blessed to have someone come along today who could sing like this. We wouldnt beliieve it. The first song I ever heard of Jakies was this one. My uncle was a huge fan. I loved all the popular stuff like Reet Petite and To be Loved. But Jackie does something with his voice on this song ive never heard anyother singer do. He lives the song taking his voice up and down as if to illustrate exactly what the lyrics are saying. Simply amazing.
oh my gosh this song from Jackie Wilson use to make me cry when I was young , I didnt understand it but it was song so so beautiful my him and I just loved it! Still DO!
Jackie Wilson knew this is a cruel, cruel world!!! And how greed tooked over humanity, where humanity don't even exist anymore! Luckly for Jackie Wilson he could sang about it!!!
This song touches me in so many different ways. This song describes Jackie in many ways. When he was on top, everyone loved him, but when he was in a vegetative state in the last 10 years of his life, not many people showed up to visit him or show respect. His so-called real friends, all the women, and fans forgot all about him. They had no pity. Its sad when people just show you respect and love when your on top and after your dead.
On this day in 1965 {June 26th} Jackie Wilson performed "No Pity (In The Naked City)" on the LA based TV program 'Shivaree'... One month later on July 3rd it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #59 and spent 10 weeks on the Top 100... It reached #25 on Billboard's Hot R&B Singles chart... Mr. Wilson passed away on January 21st, 1984 at the young age of 49... May he R.I.P.
This song can make you cry because it was. Sooooooo true people didn't care because they couldn't help themselves God is all we have every day pay attention to what you want for your life Linda j peace ☮️☮️☮️☮️🐻🐻🐻🐻💯💯❤️
Jackie Wilson & Elvis both soared to fame in the fifties but Jackie was ripped off and poorly managed but most brilliant of the two...amazing performance of "No Pity" show he still had it all mid-sixties but money went to others and while still in top form floundered to oldies circuit but deserved more...miss you Jackie and RIP
@MusicandDancing4Ever I loved him then and always. As much as I loved him, he probably didn't need all the others....he is and was "The Voice"....no one can compare!!
Always thought this should have been for him what '...Man's World' was for James or '...Change Is Gonna...' was foe Sam. Ie. Latter day re-discovered gems which finally got the recognition they deserved. Jackie wilson is a notch or two above them - probably the greatest singer ever. Number One!
I saw Jackie Wilson many times from 1956 to 1964 he was great on Live shows { Not TV Shows he did not like to perform for cameras and lip Sing} No body wanted to follow him , I predicted he would be a future legend in about 40 or fifty years It Came TRue Smokey Robinson said he was the greatest live performer he had ever seen, Elvis was influenced bu him and paid his hospital bills for 2 years till he died in a coma, Al Green stayed at the hospital room for months , he was also influenced by Jackie, Michael Jackson opened up or Jackie and admits to stealing some of his moves and stage presence, Michael also inducted Jackie into the RnR Hall of Fame Greg Allman was also a big Fan of Jackie wilson I watch any video of Jackie Wilson Live and they suck ... they were not like the shows at the Original Apollo Theatre, or the Brooklyn Fox, the Brevoort Theatre in Ft Green or the Paradise Theatre in Harlem for some reason , No one has footage of when Jackie wilson worked his ass off performing , also Jackie did a 2 1/2 concert hour at Central Park NY I was the best show I had ever seen him do ... This may surprise you but I am a white guy at 76 yrs young , and I was at times the only white guy at the R n R Shows , I even Saw Jimi Hendrix playing for Little Richard, Jackie Wilson, Wilson Pickett and also the Isley Bros. I wish someone has video from Jackie Wilson when he was a doing shows of about 1 hour 30 minutes straight I almost forgot Teddy Pendergrass could not believe how Jackie commanded the stage the first time he saw Jackie in Philadelphia in 1960 , He wanted to be like him Last thing in those days there were lines around the block to get into the Live R& R shows and the Performers did 4 shows a day first show was 8am to 12 pm then 12pm to 4pm then 4pnm tp 8pm then 8pm to 12 midnight { each show was 2 and a half hours with a one and a half hour movie in between so I used to pay to get into the first show and hide until people started to come in for the next show and I would go the front row and And watch all four shows for a $2.50 ticket .. No seats were reserved in those days . Warren
Tha k you for all of that Warren. I am a 78 year old whiteadh who still loves Jackie after all the years. Lonely Tear Drops. Was my favorite song in 1960 as a senior in high school. Couldn't get enough of him. Still can't! ⚘🙏⚘
James Brown was great and expended a lot of energy but Jackie Wilson was the "Hardest Working Man in Show Business." Fortunate to see him live at the Regal's in Chicago in early 1960s though he sneaked out at intermission (Illness???) to performed at another show and returned about 2hrs later for a brief appearance. No complaints since he lit the place up the first hour. Thx for the memories and RIP, Jackie.
Discovered Mr.Entertainment on You Tube by accident,Showmanship awesome, truly a gifted talent, way before his time, I give respect to the man that he was, a fabulous singer, God has given him looks, personality, style,Michael Jackson, was in awe of this dynamic performer.Wow! I will never forget Mr.Jackie Wison,he could blow with white boys, the baddest dude in his day,no one cold top home, imitated, but not the one superb voice, His rendition of Danny Boy made me proud to have heard such an illustration singer. Thanks for the precious memories, will cherish them until I die. pastorhelen7@gmail.com
I'm sorry for my last post I meant Michael Jackson always showed love for this man He was always mentioned To be one of his biggest influences Besides James Brown
I love Jackie Wilson. He could sing the periodic table of elements and I'd be captivated. He also sexualizes a lot of songs that had not previously been rendered as such: Chain Gang, O Holy Night, Danny Boy. He got into trouble with Chain Gang. The radio would play it because they said it was so sexualized. They played Sam Cooke's version instead--also excellent.
Once you promise that whatever you say you singing make a list check it twice and then speak it sometimes you don't know I change your places you come over here and I go to heaven life for life
Hi edagdwg thanks for sharing You Tube thanks for not saying no comments have to talk about this true story of what this world is real he told the truth about living in this world linda j peace ☮️☮️☮️☮️
This site is to show appreciation and love for a fantastic musician. If you and M&D4ever want to put your filth in the street why not do it one on one and keep it private? This is a public "wall" for appreciation of the greatest singer ever; your racist hate and stupidity don't belong here. "Long live the man, JW."
@MusicandDancing4Ever thats true what you said and he was cheated in million's £££ by other's brother's they use to say because he was no full black but a mix race the blood
There was no crossroads for Jackie's voice, it was God Given Talent baby!

Awesome. Jackie will live on forever, and continue to astound with his voice
One of the top five greatest male singers of all time. # one in my book.
I grew up listening to Jackie and he still sounds just as fresh. Rest in peace sir.

The only two who care and him the most were Al Green the singer and the Great Elvis Presley until 1977, left Al Green the only one.
Ive never heard this before. What a great song.

I'm sorry for my last post I meant Michael Jackson always showed love for this man He was always mentioned To be one of his biggest influences Besides James Brown
Even when he does a ballad he is exciting to watch. I know he was called the black Elvis ( unfairly ) but there are times in this he looks like Elvis

He and Presley were friends; I've heard that Elvis footed the bill for hospitalization and care facility for Jackie.
Ahead of his time man, just 5 star

@winkissy My grandfather is a black man. Born and raise as one, died as one. Now if you want to get into ancestry, that's another thing.

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to find that Jesus was black... A black Jew - it would probably make some people just nuts :)
