Endurance is; Maximum hitpoints devided by ten. The enemy can lose endurance points by losing body parts. But you generally do more damage than they lose endurance points, this is because the body parts have twenty times their endurance amount of hitpoints. On humans (and presumably on any other creature, except a few rare creatures like Spawnery's egg pod). "Before it reloads" Yeah, they don't have any spare ammo, so they cannot reload. Yeah. But othervise, good guide.
The Arthron doesn't need to die from fire damage. You can scorch the ground where the Umbra will spawn and it will also remove it from spawning on the next Pandoran turn. I've done this several times after taking out the TAR Shadow Arthron with conventional rounds, then have a soldier drop a fire grenade or a burst from the Dante flaethrower across that spawn point. I discovered this by accident when the environmental flame damage spread across a spawn point.
Correction regarding acid at 22:33 Acid does 10 damage to armour until the armour is gone, then 10 points to the limb and subtracts 10 points from overall health. Doesn't matter if there's 9000 acid on a limb, it only does 10 damage per turn per affected body part.
you can stop the bleeding on a tarshadow arthron if you mindcontrol him. You can use a medkit or the mutoid ability to stop the bleeding. If he has no weapon anymore you can release him from mindcontrol. You can also shoot mindcontrolled units. So if the tar shadow arthron still has weapons but low wp just mindcontrol him. Also mindcontrolled units never get attacked by the ai. The best part is umbras can be mindcontrolled and they only have an upkeep cost of 1 wp.

Didn't know that about the Endurance. Thanks for the info!
Your info on using fire against umbras is golden. This is super helpful info, so thanks so much for posting! :)
Glad it was helpful!
Another good tip for dealing with Umbras is to just disable the Legacy of the Ancients DLC. No LotA, no Umbras.
@Smoovie119 yeah i do that too.
