The main thing i can add to this is - rush main story missions, the sooner you get to Antarctica the better, activate bases to pave the way there ASAP, there's no point in delaying you'll only make the game more difficult for yourself if you do. The first and only time i almost lost the game was when South America had been covered by pandoran mist and i had trouble activating bases there for both the lack of resources and the fact they all were infested.
@@SykenPlays Imo it's still a better system than XCom2 where story missions exist in a paralel dimension to the rest of the game. All you get for completing them is add Codexes to enemy composition and rewind doomclock slightly.
Very helpful guide, I had the tactical part handled and was surprised at this game's flexibility, but it was the geoscape that I was struggling with; thank you for solving that.
Yes, the geoscape is a real struggle indeed. Once you understand what the game wants from you, it becomes much more easy. But certainly the number of things to do at the same time, the amount of micro, the continuous optimization of flight paths, etc. can really take its toll on the pacing of the game.
When should you steal your first plane? I'm afraid of the massive reputation hit on paper but my first game was a major fail because I didn't know you NEED multiple aircrafts to win this game.
If I would play the game again, I would steal 2-3 planes right at the start, the impact on the relationship can be repaired within a few missions afterwards. Later in the game, the impact is much higher and therefore not recommended.
Also, after 75rep with any faction you can steal anything from them, because the give you all their techs at 75. I keep rep above - 20 to keep on trading

I wish the game would have told you that at the beginning. Unfortunately it did not.
The golden path explanation could have been a bit better.

Great tips, thanks
Glad that it provided value for you
Hey man, do you consider this to be a better game than Xcom2?
Unfortunately not, I do have a game review on this game, feel free to check it out. I am going through a few reasons in there.
Neat!
