I loved it as the Denim square. And it’s so AMAZING with the plaid on top!!! I wish I was this creative! I’d have never thought to put the floral with the green/mint fabric. But ALL the colors work fabulously together!!! And when you zoom out you can totally see the shade of denim. The whole thing is just SUPER COOL!
The only reason I chose any of those colors is either because I had enough of the matching shreds or the thread was not too tangled. I don't even look at or care about the colors.
@@darlene.michaudlike it 🩷
I love the project. You make it fun. I'm so glad you're sewing again.
I love it. It’s improv sewing. I would totally use this for a tote bag embellishment.
I really like this. I love scrappy projects.
Next step, do one including jeans pockets too.
Could be a wall piece, holding different things in pockets.
Please !
You always amaze me with your ideas with these scrappy blocks. Every time you make a new one I think this is my new favorite one. Lol ❤
Darlene the square is great! Just goes to show you how you can have fun and produce a wonderful thing in spite of what you thought going through the process.
I love it too Darlene! Just keep going until it turns fabulous! I’m always in awe of the final squaring up trim, ha ha!😄 Loves me some plaid! Your color choices always seem to work Darlene, you have an artist’s eye.
I still prefer angles and wonky. Love denim and embroidery thread and lace pieces. Bits & pieces.
Thank you!
I think the denim plaid piece is unique. I think it would make a cute pillow top. A fabric ruffle or not. Would be a great piece for on a couch in a rec or family room. I like it!
That would be cool to add patches to a pair of jeans or denim shirt ❤
It’s beautiful!!!! I love watching these videos… so amazing to watch you do this and then see the end block… Awesome!!!!
You really do inspire me, Darlene, keep on surprising us---
I'm watching at 13 min 21 seconds... I'm so glad you're continuing with this...I like the plaid!!! You're so fun!
Hey bev
I thought it was going to be a hot mess. But it turned out so pretty at the end. I like all the different threads you used.
Agreed!!
I love it too! But I was loving it the whole time..even before you fell in love with it!😂 It looks like lots of little windows on the side of a building to me.
This turned out great!! Can’t wait to give this a try!
Haha, my husband dumpster dives and finds many crafting items for me. Loving this project.
I want to be a dumpster diver! I'm sitting in my perfectly good office chair that I got out of the dumpster.
I like the finished piece of fabric you created!
It’s awesome!!
You have good instincts. Trust yourself. 😃
It reminds me of a picture of a building with very colourful cladding, where the denim ins the glass in the windows.I would put a cat in one window..
Would be super fun for a kid to make out of her moms or grams scraps.
This project is so fun. Gave me several ideas of future projects!
I just love the needle holes too, how crazy is that??? ❤❤❤🎉celebrate!
I like them too! You are the first one to ever say that.
I love it! I've been saving my shards of fabric. I just need to get brave enough to try to make something. And I love the music you choose for your videos. Thank you Darlene!
I think it came out really good. It has so much depth to it. I feel like im looking into a deep net.
Hi Darlene i friggin love it do more then make a blanket so totally awesome love watching your videos ,chats car vlogs store shopping your amazing.
I love it and I’m always fascinated watching your creations!
I was not sure but I must say I really like it and the colors also! Thanks for sharing. I think this would be good for mug rugs too.
❤it ❤it ❤it You are so clever! I love watching you create!!!!
❤❤I love it! I want to try that also! Maybe weaving the plaid ribbons/narrow strips then sewing. That would look so cool! Thank you so much for sharing, such an amazing idea!
OMG. I FUCKEN LOVE IT!!!! You Rock!
Ohh…..
You’ve just given me a great idea!!!!!!!!!
Thanks 👏👏👏
Shreds and stick and (pick up sticks ) lol lv it awesome!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️😀hugs Darlene
That would make a great rug if it was a little bigger. I love it.
Totally love it, I'm thinking placemats!!
Love it, love the plaid, I love listening to your stream of creativity, inspires me to keep going when I get discouraged with my ideas.
You really jazzed up the denim
Cool idea, especially for denim maybe u could try a clapper to flatten down the seams, if you don’t know what a clapper is google it. It is amazing how flat it will make your seams.
I know some teenagers that would love a shoulder satchel of sorts. The denim makes it super sturdy. I'd add a med weight cotton as liner.
I was with you on how it looked in the beginning but it turned out great! Very dimensional ❤
That looks fantastic Darlene. I think I’m going to make myself one as a tote bag. The only problem I have is whenever I make myself something my grandchildren ask if I can make them one too and I have 6 granddaughters and two grandsons. 😂😂😂
What a cute boho bag! Love it Darlene❤.
Love the square!
Wow!! Turned out very cool Darlene.
I really like this! Maybe diff colors a d texture. This what keeps .e watch you kiddo.
You do the unexpected and I, love it.
Turned out so cute!!, I think I'm going to make a couple large blocks to make me a tote bag
It’s absolutely gorgeous ❤
Darlene, I love it! It looks great. I’m also see it as a building with many windows.
That’s what I just commented before I even saw your comment👍🏼
It's really beautiful, Darlene ❤🎉
Maybe you could look at plaid fabrics for some ideas? I think I'll try this using my white and neutral scraps as the foundation. This a great way to use strings less than an inch. Can't bear to throw them away!
That was some crazy good fun!
I love it too!
That’s so pretty!!!!! Love it!
I love this Darlene! Glad you continued on with it. I think it turned out great’❤❤
That's terrific. I love it.
Oh, that looks so good!
I REALLY LIKE THAT !
Love it too and I will go and make it
I love love love it ! I hope whoever gets us shows us what they do with it
No one is getting it at this point. I goes to the pile of blocks I've made over the almost past 10 years.
@Darlene I’d love for you to show us the blocks that you’ve made and saved over the past 10 years! That would be so cool!!
That's your canvas girl.
I love it, what a cool project to make
You just gave me an idea fr my next purse. Thx a million. Love it!
Love it! Make a big one and would be a fantastic tote bag! ❤
Can’t say it’s my fav design but it’s still cool. It would be a great seat cushion cause it’s thick…..and only your butt would see it😂😂😂
I love it too!!! You are so creative!! ❤❤❤
Great idea, you are very creative!
I love the colours and textures of that square, Darlene:-D You have a great eye for colour combinations!
Very pretty! Love it!
This is freaking awesome! Love it
Very creative
I love it too ❤
Love it🥰. Looks great. Sure would make a nice tote.
Excellent. Thank you.
I love it!!
Would make a pillow with this. Showcase it in the center with sashing.❤
I loved it at 21:54 and thought it didn’t need anything else added to it, but then you added those last shreds and wow! I love watching you create! And, of course listening to you!! Thank you Darlene!
Looks pretty good so far. Jy
Isn’t it crazy how we can’t seem to put a dent in our scrap pile?! I took 5 bins of scraps to our Mother’s Day brunch and everyone made awesome mod podge fabric collages with my scraps and I can’t even tell that anything was used! They just seem to multiply!!😂
I love it toooo😁
I'll be honest, I was a little hesitant like you were when you first started but I loved it by the end. Thank you for sharing your creativity!
Love it Darlene
“…just so you can all hate it as much as I do.” 😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤
Love it. Needs the other half to make a bag.😊
Or could use a solid piece of denim for the other side. Or how about 3.5 blocks using some of the strips from the other side. I would love to see someone do something with it.
No other half needed. You can use anything you want on the other side.
I love it! I got so many ideas 💡❤
Greatest youtuber of all time
Your video showed up exactly when I was looking for a technique for a clutch!
❤This would be perfect for zip pouches!
I like it , a lot !
Very cool!
Love it !!!!
What machine settings do you use for denim work?
I’m glad you kept your old machine.
This is my kind of sewing! That would be a great tote bag, love wild bags for the beach and pool.
Yellow becomes the dominant color. Looks very nice. Jy
Yellow is such a showoff, lol.
lol
I Love it!!!! 💕
Hey, Darlene! You've inspired me to create a plaid design on my project where I'm running out of creative ideas❤ I like this creative scrappy project.
Love it Darlene, even from that first pink thread such a great contrast to the denims.
@ Darlene Michaud I didn’t like it at all, then I loved it in the end. The more you added to it the more texture , and where are the bumps in the base of it now? Don’t even see them! Today on FB i saw a photo that someone posted…..think of about an 8”-9” strip of the seam cut off a pair jeans, with denim still on each side. Then somehow they shaped and frayed the denim on each side so the piece ended up being a denim feather!! I wish I could recall more info but I will go back on FB to see if I can find it again. It was really cool to see that crafty item.
But bumps all got sewn down flat.
Love love love! I can see a cute bag or basket made with this! Definitely will try this ( after I catch up with all the other video’s you’ve done that I love - and that is so very, very many!) Thanks Darlene! You are keeping me very busy. 😊
Oh, oh, oh... a basket. Yes!!!
I have a local thrift store that when I am wanting denim they will set aside jeans that they have donated that they won't sell.
