That's not how differentials work. A differential doesn't make the "other" wheel stop receiving power and it is definitely not "just free-wheeling" during a turn - that's not actually how they work. They distribute torque to both wheels equally until one loses traction, whilst still allowing them to run at different speeds. I would suggest you research a bit on how they do work - there's plenty of youtube videos on the subject. His current setup isn't ideal, but it's fine for what he uses it for, unless he decides to go racing with it. It has separate motor controllers. It would be fairly simple to program an arduino to monitor a potentiometer connected to the steering, and have it slow the inside wheel by an appropriate percentage when turning, effectively giving him a torque vectoring system. Unnecessary for what he's doing, but fairly easy to do.
Do you have some type of instructions of how to do this? Like how to get the holes drilled evenly apart? Like the distance between each hole? Also how to put the spokes in that specific patern?

Look into the controller hack! You can bridge two parts of the solder on the rear of the controller and trick the controller into making the motor faster. Good luck 👌🏻

Since they are not on a shared axle there is no problem. Equal power doesn't force equal rpm, might just lead to some understeer if we were talking about enough power.
those spokes are fitted in the worse way possible. because when theres driving forces then one side will be pulled tighter and the other side not, this will result in the wheel rim becoming unstable.

The motors can just start spinning in reverse slowly and that probably works about the same, there’s weight on them so they probably won’t skid

I think the video is sped up. In reality it can't be so fast with only 350 watt.
What does help is to get a seperate battery for each motor.

Where do you get those controllers with reverse, or is just wiring can you explain ?
most of controller have it.
Its a 3 position toggle switch w/ reverse polarity. You can find them and how to wire them online. Really easy to set up.
