I think the mechanical gears in a electric bike makes it more and more inefficient and thus less range . Instead of this they could have just given the foot hear change which could limit the speed electronically .
Exactly. All it does is divides the speed into 4 sections. It adds inconvenience and no benefits
the transmission gear ratios doesn't look right, as you have said its not efficient. They must retuned the gear ratios, with 1st & 2nd Gear to increase the torque so that it is can run with good amount of torque while using only little energy. 3rd gear to direct drive, and 4 gear to reduce torque to gain higher top speed with minimum energy. And every gear shall have the potential to use maximum power of the Motor so that they can extract more top speed on each gear. And kept the riding mode only to modulate how power is delivered to the Motor.
This will become a more commuter friendly coz, you wiil not always need to change gear in stop and go situations. Just put in 3rd gear (i.e. direct drive) and it's good to go most part and 1st/2nd gear on Inclines or with Pillion. And 4th Gear on High Speeds lane that doesnt require torque but HP.

The exposed wires might attract rat damage. The charger is internal so the power plug looks like it just brings 240Vac. Not sure how this can work with Athers 72V fast DC charger unless they can bypass the internal charger. The liquid cooling on a small 5kw motorcycle may be overkill, and the gears, active cooling charger etc just adds weight which will reduce performance. It might appeal to those that want liquid cooling and gears, even if they make little sense. Certainly its not very fast or long range for the cost, but its great to see choice in the market. Hopefully you can get to ride the Harley ebike soon as thats more in line with bigger bikes. Any news on the Simple Dot. Still shows booking not available.

Yea, that doesn't make sense for Computer Class bike. Each gear must have the full power of the engine at disposal so that each gear have higher top speed so you put it on a particular gear and you'll be good to go for most part without ever changing a gear. And they must completely readjust the Gear ratio. Which in the present state look like 1st Gear is a direct drive, (which in most ICE vehicles a direct drive is always on 4-6th gear.) they must put the direct drive in 3rd or 4th Gear so that every gear is useable for moving the vehicle at extreme inclines or with an heavy load or pillion.

We need continuous fast charging, 15kw battery non removable, and 2kw removable, motor minimum 15kw nonimal power and peaking at 22kw. LFP chemistry. Why dont u excercise a bit. The bike seems small in front of u. So its kind a misguiding the buyers...
The fun thing about electric vehicles are the ability to reach top speed with ease. Also riding an electric vehicle is cery confortable. Especially in traffic. Changing that by adding a completely unnecessary gear system is kind of lame. All it does is that it divide speed into 4 parts.
They said they did that to give a normal motorcycle riding feel. Well people choose electric bikes and scooters because they are electric and they don't want the regular motorcycle hassles of shifting gear, using clutch etc.

Gears feel pointless as it hasn't made it anymore efficient.
If they had removed that gearbox and added extra batteries and increased the range to around 250km man this would have been the best bike

When your real world range is under 100km, no need of liquid cooling. When you have electric motor, no need of gears. They need to reduce the weight which can help in increasing range. When you have 5klw battery & range is under 100 km, it is an engineering failure.
