- Ultraviolette Automotive is an EV startup which currently has a substantial stake from TVS Motor Company. Their first product is the F77, billed as India's first electric performance motorcycle. The F77 was unveiled to huge buzz recently and its price, Rs 3-3.25 lakh was also announced. Then we went to the racetrack at Chennai to get our first taste of the F77. We were interrupted by rain, a few technical glitches, the riding time was severely limited. But all that doesn't matter because there's a very promising, exciting, sweet-handling motorcycle in the F77. The prototypes were certainly impressive although it is clear the Ultraviolette has lots of ground to cover, not least, manufacturing itself before the bike can be sold to the public. And that is all right because the deliveries are expected to start only in October 2020.

The people behind this is smart. We should appreciate the effort they have put into building this motorcycle. Design driven leadership is evident. Naked + full fairing hybrid design thinking is clever. All the very best to Narayan Subramanyam(CEO) and his team. We need more F77s not RV400s.

The sound that electric motor makes just reminds me of the tron movie which was a visual n audio delight , i assume this is the future , just like what we saw in tron way back in 2010

Its a promising start, for a country that started to veer towards fuel economy, the electric revolution has got good sporty start. Ultraviolette and Emflux have a long way to go.
One thing that I think will improve in production version is acceleration figures, with 90nm torque it is surely being limited by software. It has the potential to be faster.
I follow the makers.... common people of India made this... proud...
It’s almost March 2021 and it still is not available to buy. Not to mention that the range is ridiculously low fir a 3 battery pack system. Power output is also not that high. It kind of tells the hardware limitations.
Since this motorcycle is compared to 300 cc + motorcycles legends will start asking about heating issues 😂

They can work with 4 battery packs of Lithium-ion. Removing the faring and bare naked structure can shed some weight and improve acceleration a bit. Torque can tweaked with ecu .
Overall: proud to have such bike that's made in india.

It looks like a PowerDrift concept bike... with that red and black paint plus i also noticed those "P" like graphics on the front forks just like the "P" of the PowerDrift.

2.5lac would be better, 3.25 lac for electric and even range with 150km that won't even gonna be achieved cause of traffic, bumps etc, i don't think it as a good package,

@@weko6273 They simply lack enthusiasm, energy and sheer will. Atleast they could have sold only small no of bikes that would be a major plus in my eyes atleast something to ahow than being on point 0 for ages. There wasnt even Nexon ev two years back forget about sports bike. They have already list the battle now, this company will only go bankrupt by launching this bike now as there is chance that they may lanch it for close to 4 lakhs aprox. no one gonna buy at this price range, you decent car at this price, people will prefer Tiago ev thatn this. They have some hope only if bike is priced at 2.5 lakh max.
At 3 lakh its 50-50 for them. Mark my words Anything above 3.25 lakh its game over.

It's a good effort by ultraviolette. But I don't see the point of this bike until ppl actually start taking electric vehicles seriously. This bike is like the electric version of the rc200 or the rc390 I don't know which comes closer though. Why would anyone buy an electric bike with a limited range, with a fairly moderate top speed and performance figures when they can get all that and a little more from a KTM.

From my limited knowledge I think it would do good on the hills because of the high torque. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Well the bike looks promising, but the niche is yet to establish. Electric vehicles do have a bright future, and maybe in around 2-3 years, we'll have a well developed infra to support them.
As always, Shumi's presentation and cinematography level of PD is mesmerizing, it's like watching a well edited movie trailer.
