i'm gonna defend the short bob in layers bc this hairstyle ompletely changed my appearence for the better, im reccomending it to everyone who has a curly hair like mine because it does such a good job at keeping the hair volume and giving it a nice shape. My hair just looked very akward before i added the layers
Same but my hair is straight and very thick. Happy about that but having a short bob is ok but with layers its more interesting
Yeah, it depends on your face / head shape and the hair texture in how well it suits you. These are just what didn't work for Stella.
I totally agree... I have wavy hair and I have that haircut right now. I love it
I agree a layered bob or a short mullet looks great on curly hair, I actually have a short mullet right now and I love it
agree! life changing for fine wavy hair!
I think it really depends on your face shape and hair type. I have very thick wavy hair and I have a lot of it. If I don't have layers, I look terrible. I recently got a blunt bob and I looked like Lord Farquad... It was horrendous aha
Now I have added layers and my waves pop so much more! I do love blunt bobs but sadly they're not for me
me too!! when i had short hair,i looked awful..but now that my layers are longer and my hair is much longer i look sm better !
omg gurl I actually can relate🫠 l recently got my hair cut n when I looked in the mirror, my mind was instantly thinking Lord Farquad too!
yes! my conclusions from this video: if you have wavy hair - try these haircuts! (except the very short one imo)
I feel u! every time I try an haircut without layers I look like Cleopatra 😆🤣🤣🤣 cheers to layers! 🤟
I have similar hair, and the short layered bob is my personal favorite.
I believe any haircut's look will absolutely depend on your hair texture. If you have wavy hair (i do), a straight blunt cut just makes them look incredibly poofy in a weird triangular way. Layers are an absolute must for me as i don't straighten them everyday and want my waves to pop :)
I feel like I have an opposite problem with the exact same solution. I have a soft face and my hair is very, very thin without any volume. Without layers it king of hangs there like it's constantly wet. With layers and some styling I can get a lot of volume which complimentss my face really well. If I just do styling without the layers, it will just look king of poofy and messy.
Exactly same here. I have like large ringlets texture and one length is soooooo ugly on me. Layers are a must for any length
Your hair is straight asf💀
@@Volzotran blowout :)
This is me. My hair is wavy when it's layered and poofy when it's all one length.
1:44 5. sharp full bangs/fringe
pros: face framing, covering forehead or hairline, statement haircut
cons: committing haircut - hardest to grow out, hard to style when growing out, needs constant styling, triming especially for thick hair (heat damage)
4:44 4. mid length layered haircut
cons: boring, can look awkward or like your hair is damaged, especially if you have thin hair, can look outdated or childlike, one length>layers
6:55 3. short bob with layers
cons: bob paired with layers can be difficult for styling, it looks messy if not styled, one length bob>bob with layers
8:31 2. mullet
pros: trendy, bold
cons: can be hard to fit in your style of fashion and makeup, need to be styled and needs styling products, depending on your hair type
11:11 1. boyish haircut
pros: low maintenance
cons: its rather boring or awkward than edgy, needs to be trimmed regularly, haircut is masculine and it may not work with all styles and features
these are all form Stella's personal experience, so it might not be case for you ofc, you never know until you try, but you might want to consider before committing to haircut as hair can take a while to grow out
Bro you really put some effort here
@@francescobonu4777 it was kinda like writing notes in class but lot more fun
You could go pro by adding timestamps
@@josilynl5265 what that's genius, how did I forget, thank you
Thank youuuuuuuuu!!! I appreciate your effort for this!!
The irony that Stella will be experiencing all of these cuts when growing out her buzzcut 🙃
I love you Stella, I adore your videos, but I cannot disagree more on the mullet being high maintenance!! I had this haircut midway growing out my buzzcut and it was so easy to wear because it is meant to be imperfect and it should be worn messy. If you have wavy or curly hair it's a style that is especially suitable for that hair type. Team mullet to the rise lol
I disagree but we’re all entitled to an opinion so go off
I haven't tried a mullet mullet, but I love wolf cuts of all lengths. Literally the most effortlessly pretty haircut on wavy~curly hair. Most people with straight hair or very small waves seem to hate it though
Mullets look like trash. There’s a reason we ditched them in the 80’s.
I think the same about N° 3 👏🏻
My oldest son has a natral mullet it's just how his hair grows lol. And his hair is straight no wave or curls lol.
In "defense" of the mullet, as a person with really wavy hair, I didn't have to style it at all. I got out of bed and the disheveled look was already what I was looking for, no product or styling needed. Also, the fact that my hair naturally points to every direction makes it look intentional in a way.
i agree, i have a mid lenght mullet and i have wavy/curly hair and i rarely use any products to style my hair
Bruh do y’all actually listen to what she says or do y’all comment just like that?
damn this really goes to show that different styles work vastly different for different textures. I have very thick 2b/2c/3a hair that has a looser curl pattern on my top layers and tighter underneath. Blunt bobs are my literal worst nightmare, and some of my favorite and easiest hairstyles for my hair type were mentioned in this video.
Same here, exact same curl pattern and experience
Yeah same they were my favourite hairstyles to and yeah layered hair really does give a lot of volume and character and a blunt, Bob wasn’t my thing either
Its because your hair is completely different than hers. Ofcourse its gonna be like that.
@@yacobeinauan9533 thats...that's literally exactly what I said
A layered bob might be worsed for your hair, but for curly hair it is absolutely amazing. My hair falls flat very easily once it gets longer, so having a layered bob is helping a lot with my volume and making my curls look nice all around
We know. The whole point of this video was to show people who have similar hair and features as Stella should avoid these.
I always struggle with bangs because they get greasy soooo much sooner than the rest of my hair!! I'm now rocking the short "boyish " type cuts and they're perfect for me personally. But def require regular maintenance! In any case, hair is fun to change and I enjoy seeing all the ways you change yours and it had inspired me to try some stuff with my own hair too! 😎
I have that issue with bangs, too. Dry shampoo (or cornstarch!) is a game changer. I always keep a travel sized container of it in my bag for touch ups and it makes such a big difference!
@@starrygutter Eh at a certain point it's just too much hassle for me. I have oily skin that is prone to acne and tried so hard wearing bangs, because I really liked them, but they were always oily ad suffocated my skin so it produced even more oil, and washing it every single morning but without washing the rest of my hair made me feel dirty and disgusting.
Got rid of them a wile ago and now use that time for something more useful than wash and style my stupid bangs🤷♀
I am OBSESSED with this look! the color, the hairstyle, it's giving futuristic vibes and I LOVE IT!
It's so interesting that these are the types of haircuts that look great on thick wavy hair, at least on mine they look great, especially the layered ones because your hair basically styles itself, I now am sporting a mullet and I love it, it is not more unstable than any haircut I've ever had and honestly I'll take unstable and unpredictable over the huge, heavy and frizzy ball of hair the blunt haircuts give me (also they always look boring on me and not stylish and sleek).
Yes, i love layers and when they are cut right, you are having a good hair day most days without high maintenance, perfection
I live for my pixie cut! Styling is a breeze, as long as I keep the neck super short, and changing haircolor, no problem...I'll do it often, and it makes it exiting, it stays healthy because of my haircut every 4 weeks. So,the pixie is my fave!
Same here
I had a pixie for over 20 years, but the last couple years I started feeling less feminine with it. So now in my late 50s I'm growing it out. I want to have long hair that I can pull up if I want.
I NEED a tutorial on how you styled this wig. PLEASE 🙏
I need it too!
It looks like very loose 2 part twists with sectioned off tiny two part twist strands at the front :)
I love how honest you are with your looks (contact lenses, wigs, wrong cuts/colors). You're a pleasure to listen to and look at and I love your videos. New subscriber here; I'm 65, have gray shoulder length hair that I cut myself into the wolf cut. Very low maintenance. Thanks for your channel; it's addicting to watch.
I did 3/5 of these haircuts last year because i was on a hair recovery journey so chopping off my hair and doing anything to it wasnt a bother for me. But everything you said was so right! It was so hard for me to stick with the short hair with layers or short hair and bangs and currently growing out the mullet I decided to do because they are all so hard to style and deal with on an everyday basis
Love this channel and your shares! Hair is deeply personal and though you rocked each look, the point is they didn’t bring you joy. I love how you point that out and encourage us to go on our own hair journeys. You are very brave with hair ❤
I have very thick curly hair and the layered bob was the best haircut I’ve ever had. I’m currently growing it out because I want to look like Princess Merida from Brave and it’s still holding up fantastically
i'd like to add something to the mullet! i've been wearing one with curtain bangs for ~1 year now and it's been the best hairstyle for me personally. i cut it myself when my hair was at my collarbones, now it's grown about 10cm give or take. i have quite thin hair with waves, and i think that's exactly why it's so suitable for me. it can get quity messy and weird overnight, but the only styling i need is to spray it with a little water and i'm good to go as soon as it airdries. so if you wanna try it and have similar texture to my hair, feel free to go for it without any worries. :)
but i agree very strongly that it has to suit your personal style, if you prefer something like a preppy or chic aesthetic it might not be your thing.
mid length layered haircut might work well with some hairtypes. i have really reckless, thick and slightly wavy natural blonde hair and that haircut works well since my hair's natural texture does the trick. i could imagine that cut on wavy or curly hair as well.
I'm sorry you didn't get on well with the mullet because you look STUNNING with it! I recently got one and I'm still getting used to styling it but not knowing what clothes look best with it is a pain
I really love these analysis videos. They are very helpful and you bring up such good points!
Bangs is my go to style but I completely agree lol. They need to be trimmed constantly, there’s a weird phase when they can’t look good, & wind is the bane of my existence. Buuut they are so cute & you can throw your hair in a bun & still look fashionable because of your bangs. Plus they’re pretty easy to cut, I think. 💖
dude that layered bob was fire
how do you always manage to post the exact topics i need in the exact time i need them… you are so awesomeee thanks soo much !!
I truly appreciate you giving us examples through your own experiences. I had fun watching you change so much last year! All those gorgeous colors and fun cuts! I personally love long hair (I just cut off 4 inches and it's still around 38 inches after that) on myself. Being tall, I can really exist with a longer style and not be overwhelmed by the length. It gets really wavy/curly when short and while I like those attributes, I do prefer a sleeker look and the length pulls out the curl to a manageable situation. I was planning to try a long butterfly cut on myself but I haven't gotten up the courage yet... we shall see! I just really enjoy your love of hair, Stella and seeing you play!
Great stuff Stella! Great to see you back in your element again!
Thank you so much for this vid Stella, super informative and honestly really useful if you're considering a look change and it may take a while for your hair to grow out if you didn't like it.
For me personally, I always used to have really long hair, I cut it into a medium length bob and loved it, and went even shorter and loved it too. It grew out during covid, and when hair salons opened, I decided to try short length but with layers, since my hair is straight and I wanted some movement. Worst. Decision. Ever. I actually cried about it, it aged me so much and the layers poked outwards and looked a bit like a mop. Took almost a year tor it to grow out, and it was so inconvenient for sport and studying because the layers were too short to be tied back. It was really crazy to realise how much an unflattering hairstyle can knock your confidence, so cannot thank you enough for putting this video out!
Thank you so much for sharing your experience and thoughts!!🙏❤️ It helps a lot!! 😊👍
Because of how thick and curly my hair is. Layered hair is a must.
Number 5 made me laugh a lot because I've had full bangs my whole life.
Me too!
I love how you styled the wig
Just wanted to say you left me mindnumbed with each of them , Queen, your haircolors, make up , beauty, everything on top 💙💙💙💙
Personally I think mullets look and are styled best on medium/long hair. like really short at the top and goes to a longer hairstyle. you can do so much with it, braids, mohawk, etc. its hard to style when short, but still looks decent on its own, but when its long, it really gives a "wild hippie child" kind of vibe. I've been growing mine out since I was 16 and I've had to trim it here and there, especially on the top so it doesn't get into my eyes, but other than that its really easy to maintain especially if you have the right tools and time.
Hey! Your wigs are just gorgeous. Can you make an updated wig video? Would highly appreciate it. Love your channel ❤️
These videos are so cool! Haha you’ve really tried tried everything so it’s interesting
Ive had a very short bob with layers and the “boyish” cut. The short layered bob is my all time favorite hairstyle. I have wavy to loose curly hair and its very thick, and somehow my hair just thrives in a short layered bob. Though, because of my waves and curls i just rolled with the poof, which is a style i love. The boyish cut, is the cut im currently growing out. I loved it for 3 weeks, then i became too long and just annoying. I, however, felt the cut went perfectly well with a feminine face and suited it quite well. I have round eyes and cheeks and a pixie-like face, and i loved the boyish cut.
To finish off, i dont style my hair, at all. So i just let my hair do and look however it wants.
I think a pixie is different than the "boyish" cut with a all over similar-ish length shes talking about. While i feel the absolute same happiness in my gender expression (whatever it might be on that occasion) about a buzz or a pixie, the all-hair-is ~25mm-long thing felt quite unstylable! How are you handling this?
Wow I love your wig! And makeup! Can you make a tutorial on both, please? I need this energy in my life
I don't know the reason why but mid length hair to me doesn't look good on me , the length between long and short ...I feel like it should either be short or long, btw I think with Stellas features she looks amazing in every style 💗
I have the same struggle. I always hate the mid lengths when I'm growing out my hair from a short cut, and I'm usually not happy until it's long again.
Love the series. Keep it up, please ❤️🥰
I love this series!❤
I went from a chinlength bop to my current wolfcut midlength and you are totally right about midlength hair and wolfcut. for fine, straight haired girls, while once you curl your hair or add product to boost the volume, it comed to live, but when you don't do anything, be prepared for the big shag. Especially if you also have additional bangs. its a HUGE commitment. but when executed, really darn lovely haha
As a blunt bangs wearer, I look so bad without them at this point. Had bangs most of my life and they suit me so much better than the times I chose to grow them out. And I can style and cut them in so many different ways! I have micro bangs at the moment, because they grow super fast. But for me, they are easier to style the shorter they are. I don’t even have to mess with them most days. When I just had longer bangs that were growing out like curtain bangs, they made my life so hard lmao
That blue hair style !!!! I looove it! I need to figure out how to do it
Hey! I‘ve recently discovered your channel, since I‘ve become more explorative with my hair. And I am absolutely loving your videos. My plan is to try a buzzcut, so I wonder if there is a video that shows the best haircut for each length. That would make the outgrowing process so much easier!
Would love to see best haircuts
Loving all your new content!
Not gonna lie, I really like the short bob with the poofy sort of look. So in that case, it's more of a pro to me. I am SO tired of mid-length layer hair, I am looking to try something new. My hair naturally curls in a big ringlet style, so it's really hard to find a sleek, elegant haircut without looking boring or childish, I wish I had hair where I could do the straight bangs or sleek mid-length!
For me who has tried all of them, I started growing out my buzzcut and reached the boyish cut which I hated, then I had a mullet which was soo hard to style and then I did a Bob with bangs the straight across bangs which i decided to cut layers to my hair so it is easier to grow out which was annoying and then I reached the mid length layered hair which was fine actually and then now chest length layered hair which I like because my hair is thick and wavy
I've had hair from my mid back to a buzzcut pixie. I keep a buzzcut pixie and when I'm not lazy I keep it a silver color and it's my favorite of all time. I love that I hardly have to do anything to keep it looking good, it's cheapest to keep cut vs any other salon style (i'm not spending $$$ for a hair cut), cheap to bleach, cheap to color, cheap to shampoo. I love it and it looks good on me. I know you didn't like it on you but I thought you looked fantastic with it!
girl please post the 5 best i'm getting my hair cut tomorrow !!!!!
Awww I loooove the Mullet!! I think you have to be very brave to decide for this haircut
I've worn the full fringe most of my life because it fits my face perfectly and I therefore have the authority to say: if you want to see if it's a look for you, use fake bangs (clip ins or tricks using your own hair pinned over your head) and only cut it if you're certain it will enhance your features.
Styling tip: I wash my hair in the evening and heat style my fringe and then I sleep with a velcro roller on it. In the morning I spray dry shampoo under the fringe and brush it. It holds the volume well until the next wash day
Same here it looks great on me!
i love the short layered bob even if it need some tweking. so that's what i'm trying right now :D and everything you said happened. though, i'm not really that upset about it, i like the look.
I hope we're also getting a 5 best hairstyles video. I've grown out my hair a little and would love some inspiration before making a rash decision
I would love to make one!
I had the exact same experience with my mullet, but my mistake was getting it in 2011 when they were not in style again. It was the most unforgiving struggle I've gone through💀
Ok so I have a mullet/ shag haircut right now, it’s perfect for me. I have very thick, wavy/curly hair and I needed something low maintenance because I just don’t have the energy to style my hair. I wanted something that was messy and that looked like it was meant to be that way. I think it also fits my personality and style very well.
I had thick bangs for almost 3 years. Transitioning from thick to see-through bangs was the most painful transition I've ever done. I would curl the hairs I wanted to grow out away from my face and pin them in place until they got long enough to tuck behind my ears. When I get asked about them, I always recommend trying thin/Korean style bangs, they're way easier to grow out (they can be converted into curtain bangs in approx. 1-2 months), less commitment and much more stylish.
Girl I LOVE that blue wig on you 🔥🔥🔥adore the style 💖
your hair here Stella, stunning! the colour, the twists :)
Excited for the 5 best!
they aren't the worst if it's a biased opinion. and it is. many factors come into play especially face shape. but nonetheless this is entertaining content
Yes I'd love to see the 5 best hair cuts! 😊
I had all of these and 100% agree.
Now, can you do the 5 best/low maintenance pleas ? ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I NEED a tutorial of that eye makeup it's jus to Mua *chef kiss*
I would love to see this kind of video with the cuts that are most easy. Without any styling or products. So most easy to wear when airdryed naturally! I understand that this might be different for every person, but I would love to see your perspective on it!
Me, loving these haircuts more than any other realizing I've been making my life harder
I kinda face the same issues with my current layered bob, when i’m lazy and dont want to style my hair. Its soooo frizzy :( Loved the video tho! And would love to see a top 5 best haircuts!
Really interesting! Can you make a video about your 5 favourite haircuts?
I would loooove a tutorial for this look please! 😍
Absolutely!
As someone who grew out a buzzcut, I have gone through most of these phases. I really liked the boyish hair on me like 1-2 months of growing out. I liked the micro bangs on me but I disliked the rest of the hair being kind of a mullet at the same time, so I always pinned it back except for the bangs. Shoulder length layered hair wasn't the thing for me too because I don't like layers around my face on me cause it makes me look older. Now I'm having middle length hair with only a litte layer on the bottom which isn't flipping around my face anymore and I kind of start liking it because it got so long.
All in all, growing out a buzzcut had like many awkward hair phases which made me less insecure about my hair and how it looks. 10/10 would do it again and shave it all off because the shaved head was one of the best looks on me
I actually liked the split dye coloring and hairstyle :)
Never mind the cuts, I absolutely LOVE that blue-purple color you're wearing in the opening shot!
In the endless journey of trying to grow my bangs but then cutting it again… ever since 2016!
I had two of this haircuts in your list, the long bob with layers and the mallet, although not as short as yours and i absolutely agree with what you said, i faced all the same problems. Now i have a short sharp bob with bangs, that I actually saw you cutting a couple of years on your wig)) I loved how it looked on you but I was worried about the bangs, that it would be hard to style. In the end it turned to be my favourite haircut, so thank you for the inspiration.
Not me with a short pixie lol. I have my own hair colour but have gotten my hair cut really short. I have a lot of hair and it gets so heavy so quickly. And I hate having hair on my face and having to use tons of stuff to style it. I’m the wash and go kinda gal. A little bit of wax or salt spray and I’m out the door. I do agree tho that for people who want versatility and to style their hair in different styles, a short pixie is not the best option. But it is for me 🥰 I loved this video nonetheless, there were so many good points that I hadn’t even thought of!
Yes! Best haircuts that you have had would be great to see!
You look like a fantasy warior character...😍 love this look !
i disagree bc short layered bob looks AMAZING when the ends are flipped out like alice in twilight 😍🤣🤣 literally the cutest hairstyle ever
Ugh I feel this video hard. I have 1A fine hair and when trends changed back to middle parts, bangs, and mullets it was a rough day for me lol. I love all of those haircuts on people who have some texture to their hair but not so much on us fine 1A. I will definitely defend the pixie in general though. The in-between length you had was one of the more difficult pixie cuts for sure. A bit shorter or a bit longer is always easier. I love the mix of masculine and feminine, the fact that you can dye it constantly because it’s always healthy, and it can be styled in seconds. I can’t ever go back bangs though. That maintenance is way too much and the grow out is a memory I don’t want to repeat. Really fun video.
Tbh Your current hairstyle is mesmerising
I‘ve had bangs for almost all of my life, I really love them but they’re so exhausting
I had a short layered bob, and it was one of my favorites. My hair is very thin and without layers it looks dreadful. Yes, it does need a lot of styling, but once you're at the point where it becomes a routine, you will adore your hair every time you look at the mirror.
Stella: green hair and mullet are among the worst
Me about to dye my mullet green: 👁️👄👁️
I love the jewellery!
thank you for emphasizing that these are your experiences! :)
The layered bob is so personal, I have really straight hair that refuses to do anything but poker straight and this cut was the only cut where I could get volume , it's wonderful
This video is the perfect example of telling, but not showing, because you're telling us that the short layered bob is a difficult haircut and then you're showing us a picture of you looking great with it
I've never even thought about the process of growing bangs out because that's how long I've had them lol... but they're not full bangs, they're thinner and more see-through
She didn't add, that when they grow out, you can get them shaped into side swept or any other style. I've had bangs for 10+ years. It's weird not having them now. 😆
I was waiting for the mullet lol. It looks amazing on you but it also looks soooo hard to style. Also I currently have a long layer grown out bob situation and it is so fluffy at the bottom because that is where all my damage is 😂 it’s driving me crazy but also I don’t want to lose any length 😅
The midlenght layered haircut!!!! OMG so true! Going trough all the problems with it right now. And I have very fine hair (recently discovored that diabetes is one of the reasons for that). I'll get a blunt bob (not too short) because I always looked good with it, I have a long neck, so it's fits me...Thank you my lovely hair person, Stella 🥰🤍❤
I have bangs every ten years, and i regret it every time
Yes ! i'm waiting the best haircut list ! ☀
Take care🌸
I agree about the bangs. I wish I hadn’t done it 😂
Now I’m growing into #4 - the boring haircut as you say. That said, it’s a purple ombré so it’s not boring. 😁
I've definitely tried the first three and I gotta say with the straight across bangs, a great way to grow them out is to turn them into curtain bangs. The curtain bangs definitely suited my face a lot better and got rid of that awkward grow out stage. With the short bob, I also had curtain bangs. I have fine but also very dense straight/wavy hair and found this style amazing for me! It gave me just the right amount of volume and lift. My hair would always get so heavy when it was long, so having it shorted made it look styled and really brought out the waviness and even some curls in my hair! I've currently got the mid length hair and it's super easy. I definitely gets more flat than I'd like, but I enjoy it still. I think it looks AMAZING on people with super wavy hair tho or that beautiful hollywood blowout
OMG!!! I TOTALLY AGREE ABOUT BANGS!!!
I... still fighting with the ones I made (yes "I", without any knowledge about haircuts and before knowing YOU).
And It was worse when I went to the hairdreeser and we style it with the intention of HIDE IT. But I have curly hair and the sweat cause a massive acne problem. So... YES!! PLEASE, NO
(Also... I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!!
I was someone who had bangs for years… I loved them at first, but grew them out. Thought about getting them again and this video reminded me of ALL the reasons i shouldn’t 😭
It would be great if you did one for curly hair too ☺️
But these are based on her experience and she doesn't have curly hair
Can we have a video on how you styled this wig!!!
Nice !! Can you do a makeup tutorial please it looks so good ❤
I had a pixie cut once and instantly regretted it. Can confirm it also didn't work for me. The only pros of it was that I spent almost zero time washing and drying my hair, and it barely needed a comb in the mornings, but I couldn't wait for it to grow back.
