It was so funny filming that timelapse! Not so funny riding back in the pitch black night with wild dogs running onto the road though! Loved Monument Valley ❤️
So we did The Grand Canyon after doing Monument Valley. If you do it you have to stay for the sunset as it amazing to see how the Canyon changes colour as the Sun goes down, many ways it was pitch black when we left and I put the address of the hotel in the sat nav. It got all confused trying to get out of Matherson point as it’s all one big circle back to the observer platform. Long story short mate we were two hours of flustered driving around before we found our way out. You have to see the Grand Canyon to actually appreciate just how massive it is.
Many people don't understand that the desert of Monument Valley is over 7,096 feet above sea level. This is a high desert (one of the highest in N. America) so it is not unusual for it to be so cold, especially before 1 or 2 PM. Between November to March, it gets cold enough that it can even snow.
We visited Monument valley a few years ago when our Best friends from the UK came over for a month long road trip down the 101 on the west coast. We then we did Las Vegas, The Grand Canyon etc. But for me the highlight of our entire trip was Monument Valley, the best part was that you can actually drive your car (Ford F-350) down into the valley. But and it’s a big BUT. So we get down in the valley and suddenly there was a flash flood and you should have seen the water falls coming of the Monuments. VERY very cool to see but also very scary as we had to high tale it out of there lickerty split. Thankfully two native girls showed us the way out. Love to see you there and totally loving watching your adventure.
Perfect timing... we are currently on a Utah Mighty 5 trip and will be in the 4 corners region later this week. A really cool spot for that sunset would have been just north of the visitor center in Utah at the spot where the scene from Forrest Gump was shot. Also the is another awsome valley, Valley of the God's, managed by the BLM just north as well. It is free and you could have ridden the bikes (although, I don't know about those bikes on gravel). Y'all are having a great trip and we vicariously get to ride along. I know you like interesting facts... if you could have ridden your bikes into the valley, you could have ridden where scenes in Easy Rider were shot.
We actually were headed for the forest gump spot, but we wouldn’t have made it in time for a decent Timelapse, so had to stop short. There are some spectacular roads and sights all around. We will go back one day.
That’s pretty cool John Wayne filmed there in Monument Valley. I knew he filmed there but wasn’t sure where. I went to school in Redford Michigan with John Wayne’s niece his brothers daughter up until when he was sick and dying they moved back to California to be by his side. She was a great friend. Glad you went to see this place where he filmed.
🤣🤣 I’m already gonna have my diapers ready cause you all have me dying laughing!! Jon 😅🤣 I soooo feel you about the people who interfere with your shot 🤷🏻♀️🤣 DONT they know this is very important stuff!! Can’t wait to watch when you come to my area 😅 and see what you have to say 😳🤣🤣🤣 🌺Lori&Ruben🤙🏽
Just watched this again. So funny. Love that you have been to John Wayne's TheDuke favourite place. Didn't see any horses? That would be cool to do horse riding there. And meet some Indians Friendly ones though. Love it Love your videos.
No horses sadly. Only some that were penned up in fields. The Navajo tribe on the Indian reservation were actually not that friendly, they seemed irritated by tourists. Also we found out they don’t serve or allow alcohol 😵💫
Crazy Brits!!!! Love it.
😁
We wanna go here 🤞🏻🤞🏻 after our Bryce/Zion adventures!! Doesn’t look too busy..
It really wasn’t too busy, shame we didn’t have enough time for a proper tour though
That place in our hit list for next year, it looks amazing! Another great job!
Stunning place !

Loving those sexy selfies in the middle of the road Jon, lol...
Awesome day! But yeah the stray dogs not so much 🐶
Just found you on 95 south

Thanks JS, I actually rambled on about some of the facts about MV, but regrettably decided to cut them out the video 🤦♂️
@@BrazenBrits I really like the videos you posted. Don't worry about "rambling" because your viewers are interested in your opinions. Safe journey.

Oh wow, that’s crazy! But good to know when we go back with the rig! Grand Canyon and Vegas still to come 😎😄
If you go to lower evaluation you won't be cold in Az. You'll enjoy 100 degrees.
Another Excellent Episode. We are loving your RT 66 adventures!
Cheers Nick! 🤩
Wow! I can’t believe it was that cold in Arizona.
Us either! After days of sweltering heat, we didn’t cope very well with it 🤣🤣
@@BrazenBrits I can tell when you had stop and put coats on.
